Before visits, it’s important for me to know a little about your pets to make sure I can give them the best care possible. Things like their potty habits, favorite activities, any quirks or fears, how they like to be approached, and if they have any medical needs or special routines are super helpful. The more I know about what makes them feel safe and happy, the better I can tailor our time together.
A typical day
For check-ins, making sure your dogs go potty is always the top priority. After that, it’s all about what they’re in the mood for. I give them the opportunity to play or snuggle, but give them the option to just have quiet time alone if that's what they're in the mood for. For overnight visits, I like to tailor everything to what your dogs need to feel comfortable and happy. We can go for walks, play with their favorite toys, enjoy a treat or a chew, get a quick brushing if they like, and wind down with lots of pets, cuddles, and relaxing time at home. For walks, the focus is on safety and getting lots of exercise. I prioritize covering as much distance as possible in the time allowed, while taking into account the physical health of the dog. Puppies and senior dogs might get more leisurely strolls with lots of sniffing opportunities, while high energy dogs will get lots of fast paced walking and redirects from distractions to get the most out of their time with me, pausing only for potty breaks and the occasional sniff.
