“Andre was terrific. He came over in advance to make sure he knew where everything was and go over our cats schedule. We definitely know Bowie was well cared for and will use Andre again in the future when we travel.”

“We've had Kaya pet sit twice now and she was tremendously helpful! Out two cats and dog enjoyed her visits over the past week. She provided meds and frequent updates to assure us they were behaving. Highly recommend her to others!”

“Elsa was a fantastic cat sitter! She was super communicative, sent great pictures, and provided helpful updates. I would highly recommend her and look forward to working with her again soon!”

“Charlie was so awesome taking care of my two cats. Was available for the entire time I needed and incredibly responsive and accountable. I would absolutely recommend!”

About: Hi! My name is Selby and I love spending time with and meeting new dogs. Many friends, family, and colleagues have trusted me to watch their dogs, which have involved learning the dogs’ schedules and routines, and providing different walk routes and styles for a variety of pups. I love walking dogs, and feel that it’s a great way for them to get exercise and sniff the world around them. I have a large apartment space on a first floor, making it accessible for a variety of dogs. I live in a nice, walkable neighborhood with plenty of free space for dogs to run around (if they would like to). Ultimately, I love spending time with dogs and I would love to opportunity to get to know yours! I am currently working full time, but I am free weekends and weekdays after 3:30 pm. I love taking walks after work, and I usually spend my time at home in the evenings, giving me plenty of time to spend with your pet! I have a first floor apartment with lots of floor space and windows to look out of. I am surrounded my plenty of parks and green space for your pet to enjoy. I have two AC units that keep the space cool during hot summer months. I am an extremely organized person who works well with a schedule, and will make sure to prioritize your pet throughout the day and with general care and feeding. I have lots of places in my home for pets to sleep and relax.
“Becca always does an amazing job with my sometimes shy and timid cat Lola. The photos really show how excited Lola is when Becca visits and just how good her cheek scratches are!”

“Deniz does a wonderful job taking care of my three cats. I have one cat who is more high maintenance and requires medication, and Deniz went above and beyond when taking care of her. I could not recommend her enough!”

About: Growing up with three dogs, I have learned not only that different dogs have their own lifestyle and personality, but also different feeding habits and behaviors. My clef pallet pup, Daisy, has taught me that patience can lead to happiness and learning with all kinds of dogs. As a recent high school graduate, I am available all summer to care for your furry friends. As I prepare for college, I am building my savings to have a successful first year! Growing up, I have had dogs of different sizes, from teacup size to 50+ pounds. Not only do I have experience with tricky behavioral dogs, but also pups with disabilities, such as clef pallets.
“Elena was wonderful! She took care of our cat Domino when we were out of town. She was so communicative, sent pictures and provided updates with every visit! We came back to a happy cat and house as we left it! Will definitely be asking Elena to cat sit again the next time we are out of town. Thank you Elena!”

About: I'm not just another dog walker or pet sitter — I'm your reliable neighborhood neighbor who’s already the go-to person in my 10-story NW DC apartment building for everything from quick walks to overnight stays (and yes, I handle both dogs and cats with ease!). What really makes me different is my background as a recently retired Special Education teacher. That means I bring serious patience, structure, and a knack for reading behavior to every pet I care for. Whether it’s helping a energetic young pup learn polite leash manners, crate training basics, or simple commands during our walks and playtime — or giving gentle, attentive care to senior dogs and cats who need slower paces, extra cuddles, or help with mobility and medication — I’m genuinely good at meeting each pet exactly where they are. I grew up with dogs and cats, so I’m comfortable with all personalities and ages. I focus on making sure your pet feels safe, loved, and happy while you’re away — with consistent routines, plenty of affection, and that extra layer of responsibility that comes from years of working with kids who needed thoughtful, individualized support. In short: You get a sitter who’s dependable, experienced with all life stages of pets, and truly enjoys the work. Your furry (or not-so-furry) family member will get the kind of calm, attentive care that makes coming home even sweeter. Pet care fits perfectly into my daily and weekly routine! Since I’m recently retired, I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pets the attention they deserve. I live right in a 10-story apartment building in NW DC, so I’m already here and can easily pop down for midday walks, quick drop-ins, or overnight stays without any commute hassle. A typical week for me includes several regular dog walks and cat visits for neighbors in the building. I genuinely enjoy starting my day with a good walk or ending it with some playtime and cuddles. It keeps me active, social, and smiling — plus it gives me that wonderful sense of responsibility I loved from my teaching days. Whether it’s a quick 30-minute walk around the neighborhood, a full night of house sitting, or daily check-ins while you’re traveling, fitting pet care into my schedule is easy and something I truly look forward to. I’m available most days and evenings, and I’m happy to work around your needs! I provide all pet care in your home only, so your pets stay in their familiar environment where they feel safest and most comfortable. For dogs, I will only consider bringing them to my house on very rare occasions — and only after I’ve gotten to know the dog well and we both agree it’s the right fit. All cat care happens exclusively in your home. In your home, I follow your exact routines for feeding, walks (for dogs), playtime, litter box care, medications, and more. I’m very mindful about safety: keeping doors and windows locked, using secure leashes when needed, and treating your space with complete respect. As a retired Special Education teacher, I’m patient, observant, and highly responsible. I treat every pet and every home with the care they deserve. You can trust that your furry family member will be in safe, loving hands.
About: I’ve been caring for my family’s dogs since I was around 16. When I moved away from home, I started to miss the daily joy of being around dogs, which is what brought me to Rover. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and different temperaments, including rescue dogs. A dog lover since childhood, I would love to support you and your pets’ needs: I will treat them like my own 😊 I’m free weekends and evenings! Starting late August, my schedule will be more flexible as I am starting grad school, so I will have more daytime availability. I’ve watched pets in a variety of home and apartment environments and will adapt to whatever details you provide for me! You can count on me to adapt my care towards each pet’s environment and your needs.
“Sarah was wonderful with the cats. They got along with her really well and she was very thorough in giving us updates and photos. I will definitely be asking her to cat sit again in the future!”

About: I have had the opportunity to raise animals from infancy to adulthood. I have the ability to properly provide care for your special loved ones. I am currently a focused graduate student, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets— whether it be walking, playing, or feeding. I am incredibly aware of my surroundings— I will ensure that your pup is safe at all times during walks. If in house, I will ensure to always have one eye on your fur baby at all times!
“Salma did an incredible job making sure our cat Azuki was happy and well cared for! We felt relaxed knowing our kitty and our home were in great hands while we were away.”

“Luisa was super friendly, helpful and always quick to respond. She left detailed updates with pictures after each visit, which was very reassuring and made being away much less worrisome. After meeting Luisa, it was very apparent that she truly loves all animals. She did a great job taking care of cat. I would highly recommend her.”

About: Growing up I help take care of just about every indoor pet you can think of. Taking the time to make an animal feel safe is my specialty. My favorite way to spend time with pets is outdoor training and desensitizing 🙌 I work part time and am generally flexible for hours during the week. I am especially available for early morning and daytime visits M-F. Weekends I’m happy to do overnights and potty breaks every couple hours. Happy to be the disciplinarian or the fun playtime aunt! However your pet feels safe I will accommodate and take as much time as needed to provide for them in your home.
About: I've had pets most of my life, more recently exclusively cats. My cats wouldn't get along with dogs and I miss being around them, so I'm looking to scratch that itch by getting involved with dog walking and in-home care. I have plenty of experience handling both young and old pets, administering medications, and providing round-the-clock care for both pets and people during multiple serious health crises. My current schedule is wide open; whether you need a quick a.m. or p.m. visit, multiple walks, or a longer stay, I can accommodate. With loads of experience with a wide range of personalities, you can be confident that your pet will be safe and secure when I'm caring for it.
“Chiara is amazing. Always on time and checks in with photos of my cat at every visit. Frankfort really loves her. She’s a real gem and I feel super comfortable leaving to go on vacations with her around.”

Hannah took wonderful care of our medium-sized dog over the Fourth of July weekend. She was flexible, communicative, and proactive throughout the stay, especially when helping us monitor how our dog was handling the heat and the fireworks. When our return flights were unexpectedly canceled, she didn’t hesitate to extend the booking, which was a big help and peace of mind. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with Hannah again and highly recommend her!
Simone is so incredibly communicative. She shares lots of pictures and I always feel looped in to how things are going every day. I cannot imagine having anyone else catsitting them anymore because my kitties are so comfortable with her. Highly recommend!

Haviland was such a great sitter! First, she took the time to visit before our trip to get familiar with our kitty and her routine. While we were away, she sent lots of photos and updates—even though our cat can be pretty shy, she really opened up around Haviland and seemed to enjoy her company and playtime. We were very happy with Haviland as our sitter and would 100% book her again! :)

Lily was so great with our two cats! She sent us lots of great pictures and was very attentive. She was also flexible and was able to help us out by coming an extra day when we had a flight cancellation. I would highly recommend Lily and would definitely rebook in the future!

Naomi was great with Hermes. He warmed up to her in just a short while, which is no small accomplishment. He's usually pretty circumspect around strangers. Naomi kept us well informed with photos, where Hermes seemed to enjoy her company as much as (or more than!) ours.
