“I needed a last minute cat sitter, and Nick was PERFECT. Reliable, communicative and took great care of my dynamic duo. I’d highly recommend him and will definitely hire him again.”

“Great communication during the sitting period, love getting pictures of my cat while away. Food was full at litter box empty when I got home. Would book again!”

“Willow am is WONDERFUL! He is attentive and caring and my Shiba who is always great at warming up to new people took to him right away. His communication style is thorough and timely. I would certainly recommend William to others.”

“Charlie is such a great cat sitter! Charlie provides detailed updates, is very responsive, and gained our cats trust quickly. If you are reading this, look no further and book Charlie!”

About: I started sitting in earnest four years ago, but grew up with my own dogs and often babysat for friends and family in high school and college. I’ve cared for Greyhounds, Border Collies, Shihtzus, Golden Retrievers, Corgis, APBTs, one Mastiff, one Akita, one senior German Shpeherd, and one Border Terrier/Shihtzu puppy. I’m a teaching artist, so my fluctuating schedule doesn’t allow me to have my own dogs, but the long periods of remote work and time between gigs means I have very flexible availability and can fill the hole in my heart by being a reliable, loving sitter for others. I really cherish any opportunity to spend time with any pups and look forward to meeting yours! I’m between gigs at the moment, so save some odd appointments, I’m available for morning, afternoon, or evening drop in walks, daytime sitting, or longer overnight stays and in-home sitting. I always prefer to take a walk with pet parents leading when I first meet new dogs to get a sense of what they’re used to. For multi-day sitting, I always follow whatever norms you set in your home to make sure training stays consistent and there’s no confusion that may create anxiety for your pups. If working remotely, I try to stay where pups can see me and take lots of breaks for walks, pottying, and pets. Unless you have a specific walking route, I like to stay on quieter streets with slower speed limits and less traffic so walks are calm. I also like to allow lots of time for sniffing (smells stimulate your pup’s brain!) unless you have behavioral or training concerns about avoiding distractions during walks.
“Sara was so nice and made sure that our baby was taken care of while we were on vacation. She gave us detailed updates and sent us pics and videos. Thank you Sara for giving us peace of mind and being so great to Ivy!”

“Alexander took really great care of our cat. He spent time playing with her and followed our instructions perfectly. He was easy to communicate with and sent several sweet pictures of her each visit. Sometimes pets seem stressed when you come home from a vacation, but we came home to a calm & happy kitty.”

“Caris was WONDERFUL! Caris took such great care of my two cats and was extremely communicative while watching them. The best rover experience I’ve had and would recommend Caris to anyone looking for someone to care for their furry friends.”

“Hanna took great care of my cats! One of them had been having health problems and needed a complicated medicine regime 2x/day. She handled this expertly. The cat with health issues was in such great spirits and seemed even healthier when I returned. Thanks Hanna!”

About: I have been trusted to take care of dogs, cats, and even birds since I was 12. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to provide loving care to their pets. I am dedicated to providing individualized care to your pet, based on their needs. I am newly pursuing a masters degree and maintaining part-time work. I am excited that this transition has allowed me to commit more availability to Rover. My calendar is reflective of my availability when I am not in-person at work or at school. I love walking around the city and spending time with animals, so caring for your pets is something that I look forward to incorporating into my new routine! I have been trusted to care for pets in their owners’ homes since I was 12. I will show you and your home respect as I provide loving care to your pet.
“Catherine was a great cat sitter while I was away on a summer vacation. She provided daily updates on what was happening at home and asked questions if things were unclear in the instructions I left. I even learned more about my cat's personality and daily habits from her time watching him.”

“Molly was great with our pup. She helped us out last minute when our other sitter had to cancel and I will definitely book her again. She followed all of our care instructions and sent a detailed summary of her visit.”
“Maya was willing to meet before the trip and shared prompt updates with photos. She managed my cat’s feeding and medicine while giving him some much needed attention during drop in visits.”

About: We are both lifelong dog lovers and experienced pet parents in the DC area with flexible work-from-home schedules that allows us to be available when you need help most. We have taken care of dogs all of our life and now have a playful pup of our own. We love taking dogs on long walks, playing with them, and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. We've trained our own dog from puppyhood, so we're confident and comfortable working with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and energy levels. Whether your pet needs extra playtime, structured walks, or just a reliable companion during the day, we are happy to tailor the care to meet their unique needs. We are flexible, reliable, and excited to help you give your dog the attention and care they deserve. Pet care is a natural and consistent part of our daily routine. Since we work primarily from home or do half days at the office, we have plenty of flexibility throughout the day to prioritize walks, playtime, feeding, and companionship. Our own dog helps keeps us on a regular schedule, so we're already used to planning our days around pet needs. Whether it’s a morning walk, midday play session, or evening wind-down, we work your pets seamlessly into our schedule. With a bit of advance notice, we are able to adjust my schedule to accommodate different routines. Whether we're caring for pets in our home or yours, our top priority is making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. We follow your routines as closely as possible, from feeding schedules and walking routes to preferred toys and training cues. In your home, we’re respectful of your space and always tidy up after ourselves and your pet. We make sure your dog (or cat!) gets plenty of attention, walks, playtime, and downtime as needed. If we’re hosting in our own home, your pet will have a cozy, quiet environment with plenty of room to relax and play, and will be treated just like part of the family, including supervised outdoor time, snuggles on the couch, and lots of love. We try to send regular updates and photos so you can feel confident and connected while you're away. Every pet is unique, and we take the time to get to know their needs and personality so we can provide the best possible care.

About: When I was 12, my family got a chocolate lab named Mocha. She was awesome, and she kicked off a life-long love of dogs! More recently, I lived with my sister and her dog, Taiye, in San Francisco for 3 years. Sweetest chihuahua mix you ever did see. I quit my full-time job a little while ago to pursue some other stuff, so I have a pretty flexible schedule during the week! Weekends may require more advanced planning, but I'd be happy to discuss it! When I lived with my sister's dog, Taiye, I was her primary care-taker about half the time, and I spent most of time trying to get cute pics of her. My sister is a big softie, so I take credit for quite a bit of Taiye's training as well :)

About: I’ve had pets my entire life and although I currently don’t have any of my own, I miss them dearly and need some fur love in my life. Experience with all ages (including seniors)! I work a 9-5 but am fully remote, so I am available to stop by midday to care for your pet, can stop by before work or in the evening, or adapt to your scheduling needs! I am comfortable adapting my pet care to your family’s needs! I can crate your dog, ensure your cat only has access to certain rooms, or make sure your fish remains in the tank (lol)
Mount Pleasant pet parents share their Rover experiences
Abby did a really amazing job with my cat. She was very proactive and observant, noting when the litter was low or when my cat’s inhaler seemed to run out. I definitely would trust her to act in an emergency situation. She also left my place super clean. I loved all the pictures and videos - my cat looked super happy with her. I would highly recommend!

Tyah took excellent care of my female cat Tiger while I was gone for 18 days, visiting twice a day and providing great communication throughout. She accommodated Tiger’s medication schedule and visited on a reliable schedule, spent time playing with Tiger during each visit, and administered topical medication during each visit without issue. I especially appreciated the detailed updates and photos she sent after every visit, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. She kept a close eye on my cat's health and behavior and communicated anything noteworthy. When I got home, everything was spotless. My sink was empty, the litter area was clean, and most importantly, Tiger was happy, healthy, well cared for, and most importably she wasn’t mad at me :) Tyah's services were an exceptional value for the level of care she provided. It's also a huge bonus that she lives in the neighborhood. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter, and I fully intend to hire her again for my next vacation. Thanks!

We’ve booked with Thomas multiple times and he is always so wonderful! We appreciate the care and thoughtful reports he gives us on our kitties. He also was super accommodating when one of our cats started a medication and needed pill administration. We’re grateful as always!

I’ve been so fortunate to find William to help me with my other sitter while I’m away in Alaska on a traveling nursing contract. He has been incredibly detailed, dependable, trustworthy, and loving with my fur Baby. He takes the most amazing photos! Just incredible- I’m saving every single one of them, they’re just absolutely precious!! To be able to trust somebody in your home while you’re away for months at a time is just priceless, but most importantly, while away with a furry family member - has just brought me such immense peace and comfort. My little girl Violet absolutely loves William and took to him immediately! He’s been so patient and helpful as well, especially when there was a mistake on my end with medication dosing. He makes excellent suggestions about her care (he’s so observant) and is a superb communicator as well; so eloquent in his notes to me about his time with my girl! I look forward to them daily! :) Thank you so much William -God bless you for all your help, I’m so grateful that I found you! - Dani and Violet 💜🦄😻

Daria does an excellent job of meeting the needs of our cats wherever they are regardless of their age or special requirements. During the health decline of Louis, a big ginger boy, he would respond well to Daria even through meds delivery. Now, we count on Daria to deliver the care that our clever but elderly cat craves. We happily recommend Daria as your pet sitter/caregiver.
