Since I’m recently retired, I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pets the attention they deserve. I live right in a 10-story apartment building in NW DC, so I’m already here and can easily pop down for midday walks, quick drop-ins, or overnight stays without any commute hassle. A typical week for me includes several regular dog walks and cat visits for neighbors in the building. I genuinely enjoy starting my day with a good walk or ending it with some playtime and cuddles. It keeps me active, social, and smiling — plus it gives me that wonderful sense of responsibility I loved from my teaching days. Whether it’s a quick 30-minute walk around the neighborhood, a full night of house sitting, or daily check-ins while you’re traveling, fitting pet care into my schedule is easy and something I truly look forward to. I’m available most days and evenings, and I’m happy to work around your needs! I provide all pet care in your home only, so your pets stay in their familiar environment where they feel safest and most comfortable. For dogs, I will only consider bringing them to my house on very rare occasions — and only after I’ve gotten to know the dog well and we both agree it’s the right fit. All cat care happens exclusively in your home. In your home, I follow your exact routines for feeding, walks (for dogs), playtime, litter box care, medications, and more. I’m very mindful about safety: keeping doors and windows locked, using secure leashes when needed, and treating your space with complete respect. As a retired Special Education teacher, I’m patient, observant, and highly responsible. I treat every pet and every home with the care they deserve. You can trust that your furry family member will be in safe, loving hands.

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all kinds for years and have three of my own, so I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets. I’m studying to become a veterinarian and work part-time at a pet store, which has given me strong knowledge of pet health, behavior, and nutrition. I also have hands-on experience fostering senior dogs, sitting for cats, caring for a pregnant dog, and helping raise a litter of seven puppies. I’m comfortable with dogs of all ages and needs, and I always treat every pet like my own, making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. About: I’ve had cats in my life since I was born. I’ve never spent an extended time away from cats of various origins. I have experience trimming nails, shaving, and administering subcutaneous medication to my own cats, and am a quick study for anything new. I am a full time student, but I have time in my schedule to make mid-day drop ins and I am rarely busy after classes. I’m completely comfortable staying overnight to keep your kitties (and your house) safe and sound. Back home, my cats get fed several times a day with fresh water and daily litter box cleanings. We follow the # of cats plus one rule. My cats get all the attention they ask for, though they spend most of the day sleeping.

I own and work my highly-trained 6yr old Belgian Malinois and have trained under three well-known, reputable trainers across Virginia and Colorado. My background combines real-world handling experience with structured training methods, giving me a balanced approach to balanced training, confidence work, obedience, high-drive dogs and puppies. I currently work part-time, which allows for an abundance of time with both client dogs and my own dog. I’m naturally a very active person and being around dogs in any way is just any regular day to me! I’m very flexible: my schedule is dependent on your dog’s needs. Every dog is different—I can follow anything from a structured routine, to a spur-of-the-moment cuddle session on the couch—you as the owner set the rules.

I’m a whole-hearted dog lover and care for other dogs like they’re my own. I have been a Rover dog walker/sitter for over five years now, and have loved each and every dog! I have a flexible work-from-home schedule! I am a graphic designer, so I often work independently with a light meeting schedule. I can accommodate one walk during the work days, and any other walks needed in the evenings. While walking dogs, I make sure to walk them safely distanced from traffic and passing cars. I am always respectful of my client’s homes and neighborhoods, and make sure to clean up after their pups!

About: Having owned a dog and taken care of a variety of pets throughout my life, I have a wide range of experiences. I recently have helped with dogs from the guide dog foundation and am very friendly to almost any animal. I also love being outdoors so walks and activities are very fun for me. I also can channel a lot of energy into most situations. Additionally I am from a resort town so I have worked in many different settings having house sit, babysit, nannied, and pet sit. About: I have taken care of dogs, cats & birds all my life, I love to take the dogs out for a walk and be at home with the cats & birds. I recently retired so I will be happy to take of your companions when you need, I am young at heart and love going out for long walks with dogs. NB. In November 2022 I will be happy to stay at your home full time to look after your companions. As of December 2022 I will only be keeping pets at my home in Burleith, or visiting them at your home if it is in my neighborhood. I do not have a fence around my garden, but I will take them for long walks if they like the outdoors, otherwise we will stay at home.

About: I grew up with rescue dogs my whole life and adopted a senior chihuahua in 2020 who we lost a few months ago. We aren’t quite ready to adopt again, but are really missing the love of a dog in our lives and would love to shower your baby in love!! We still have dog beds, treats, stairs to get on the bed, etc. that we would love to put to use. I work from home Thursday and Friday so am opening my schedule only those days and weekend to ensure I can give pups the attention and care they deserve. We live in a super walkable neighborhood and I’m happy to walk them every 2-4 hours. We are homebodies and will give lots of snuggles and love. Don’t have other pets or kids. Myself and my wife will be around and both have lots of experience from caring for our dog Toby who recently passed. Dogs are allowed on the couch and bed. We don’t have a yard but our neighborhood is super walkable and we live near a dog park if that is of interest (would never take the dog there unless specifically requested).
