Im available for boarding on Fridays through Sundays. I work from home on Friday and I don’t work the weekends at all. I can also be flexible during week days as needed. About: Hi! I’m a full-time therapist and lifelong animal lover. I have two dogs of my own who are currently training to become therapy dogs, so I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and positive interactions. Whether your dog is big, small, shy, or super playful, I’m confident and calm handling all kinds of temperments-even those who might come off a little strong at first. I’m strong enough to manage large breeds and gentle enough to make even nervous dogs feel safe and loved. You can count on me to treat your pet like family, giving them the attention, exercise, and care they deserve! I’m currently a college student and offer dog walking services full-time during my seasonal breaks-Summer and Winter. During those times, I’m have a very flexible schedule and am available most days for walks, drop ins, or longer visits. I’m naturally nurturing and attentive to every pets needs-whether it’s making sure they’re fed on time, responding to cues when they need to go out, or simply giving them affection and companionship. I stay aware of each dogs body language and behavior to ensure they feel safe, secure, and cared for at all times. You can trust that I’ll treat your pet with the same love and attention id give my own :)
About: I’ve taken care of pets in many settings, including messier households! (Not a neat freak so it does not bother me!) I trained my Doberman on Couch to 5k, running through all the trails in RI. I’ve taught my cat how to shuffle cards, play piano, and spin in a circle on command, and my mom’s old cat would always practice Pilates with us at 6 in the morning. Recently I dropped in for a friend’s 2 cats, even the shy one eventually warmed up to me! They required medication in their food so she left detailed, neatly handwritten notes on the table, which helped a lot! She allowed me to eat lunch there so of course I’d always ensure the kitchen was clean and the way I found it. My aunt’s sister’s cavapoo loved fetch, although I think she had ADHD like me, but I always got her to refocus! I also used to bathe my mother’s rag doll cat Dory every now and then and I would help trim minor mats in her fur. Even my photographer’s cat sat in my lap randomly during our meeting when she had to step away for a call! Growing up, I often took care of family and friends’ cats and dogs, playing fetch with them, and of course, playing music for them. I usually help my mom trim my cat’s nails. Growing up around my friend’s horses, I’ve always had a connection with animals. I always tell people, I sold my first CD because a German shepherd fell in love with it, and wouldn’t let his owners continue walking until he heard the end of the song. (I play acoustic guitar, piano, and sing). We taught my friend’s Dobermans how to sing, and made sure he didn’t eat anything he wasn’t supposed to as he was a troublemaker! We also always took my dogs to nice restaurants and kept them well-mannered and quiet. Outside of pet sitting, I enjoy walks in nature, going out to eat, teaching music lessons in the evenings, and watching comedies. My cat’s latest hobbies include watching the birds, and he apparently likes the music channels as he cries when I turn them off. On Sundays I often visit my boyfriend’s mom’s German Shepherd, Bruno. His hearing is sensitive (even reactive to splashing in the pool!) so we make sure to approach him very gently and warmly, and he loves fetch and “chase the ball!” I also am used to visiting people’s homes, both when I was a case manager as well as an independent music instructor. Outside of work, I very much enjoy meditation, reading about nutrition, writing music, yoga, and painting. My cat Fin Fin also loves to try to help me paint, often nearly dipping his whiskers in as he says hello! Nowadays we tend to simply cuddle on the couch. If you choose me for your pet’s care, I intend to give them an amazing experience per your expectations and frequent photo check-ins, just like our pet sitter did for us. I’m very adaptable and have flexible availability, just ask! One of my favorite activities is running, I can always walk or run with your pet, or if you prefer us to lounge, I have lots of great pet-friendly shows on our nice TV. I love driving so I’m happy to drive to you if it’s further away - as I am regularly back and forth between Westerly, RI and Uncasville, CT. Outside of teaching in a formal studio, I’ve worked in client’s homes for therapy-related meetings as well as for music lessons - and believe it or not often times there are pets who love to sing along to the music! I usually stay home in the morning so I can easily take care of your pet between 7 am and 2 pm. I used to have an office job but found it too sedentary and draining; I discovered I thrive in outdoor and home environments. I’m excited to enter this new chapter and care for animals! I have a partially fenced yard so I would generally take pets out on a leash but it is a non-busy road and very safe - the lawn is freshly mowed and we have a playground your dog can weave around! I also have a cute little neighborhood that we can circle around that is far from the highway and if your pet loved car rides, we can always go to the park and get ice cream! Occasionally our neighbor’s dog likes to come over unsolicited but he is always very gentle and friendly! My cats are also used to my mom’s boyfriend’s rambunctious dogs coming in and out from time to time and we have plenty of doors and rooms in the house and baby gates if we ever needed to keep pets separate! We also have a spare pet bed if needed that was gifted to us - we always want to make sure your pet is comfortable sleeping at night!
“Great experience using rover for first time. I couldn’t walk my dogs because of ankle surgery. Ashlyne responded right away and came over on short notice and walked my two dogs, an 11yrs old black lab and an 1yrs old black lab / Belgian malinois mix. They both liked her and went walking with her with no hesitation. Plan to use Ashlyne again and highly recommend her.”
