About: I grew up with my parents' pet dog and cat, and the many (many) dogs in my extended family of over 200 people in Chicago. While humans are lovely, I am getting into pet care purely for the love of animals. I recently graduated with an MBA from an area school, and my full-time job is in marketing. While I can't make the leap to having a pet full-time, I do miss the comfort, joy, and company they provide. I adore all kinds of animals, and will treat your furbabies as if they were my own. I have dog-sat for family members and close friends in their homes and mine, and never had an issue. I even helped a friend adopt her first dog ever right before the pandemic! I have never been bitten, (intentionally) scratched, or chased. My personal history managing a chronic illness has instilled a sense of responsibility that I bring to all aspects of life, and in the past few years I've combined that with my nurturing side through volunteering with children, growing a vegetable garden, and occasionally babysitting. I have flexibility to work from home in my current position. Since nearly all of my extended family is in the Chicago area, I rarely travel for big holidays. I have both the time and the physical space for pet care as I live in a very pet-friendly high rise downtown, and right next to the incomparable Grant Park. My high rise has excellent security and a 24 hour doorman. I do have a balcony, but I always obtain explicit permission from the pet owner before letting them out onto it, and never leave pets out unsupervised. I usually set up a "nook" in my home with the pet's bed and favorite things, and leave no food out on the counter. I do not feed pets kitchen scraps, and gratefully have easy-to-clean hardwood floors throughout most of the home in case of mishaps.

About: Hi there! I'm Grace, and I've been petsitting since I was a young teenager. As a newly minted grad student, I'm looking forward to getting to know you and your pets. My grandparents were cattle ranchers, my family has always owned more than one dog or cat, I volunteered at a barn in high school, and recently spent a good chunk of my time at college as a volunteer dog walker/sitter for people with disabilities. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and ages as well as cats :) I'm a graduate student, so have plenty of time built in throughout the week to come and check in on your pet during the morning, afternoon, and evening as well as weekend. I also have a car and a bike, so am able to get places quickly in case of an emergency or a last minute booking! I've been petsitting for years and am well-versed in safety measures including basic knowledge of doggy first aid and a stern voice to get them to enter their crate at nighttime. While I can't have pets at my own apartment, I always spend a good chunk of time at the beginning of each sitting-relationship looking for potential safety issues in the house and backyard (holes in the fence, etc.)

About: I’ve taken care of or have had animals since I was a child. Currently I have a cat named Ida who is very sweet & affectionate. I always strive for a 5-star experience, but my top priority will always be the safety of the pets in my care. I chose to refuse a request to take a cat outside without a harness, as the flight risk was far too high. It resulted in a low rating, but I will never compromise an animal's safety. I just graduated with a Master’s of Social Work. Before beginning my career, I’m taking some down time and taking care of animals. This gives me the ability to prioritize your pets needs! My environment is animal friendly. I have a fenced in back yard and live near a park. I have a cat named Ida who is welcoming to new animals inside our home. I allow animals on my bed and furniture.
