About: 🌞 I am always smiling brightly every time I have the opportunity to be with an animal. (I have many photos of this to share!) I love all types of these precious beings! 💗 Some of my life experiences include: Parenting Dogs, Cats, Kittens, Lizards, and Senior Pets. I have assisted in kitten birth and successfully bonded with, and adopted a feral kitten who (still) adores me... Yay! 😁 I have also cared for a very sick lizard and kitten by myself that required extensive care for a few long months. 🐿️ 🐴 All types of animals seem to be attracted to me, including... dogs, cats, ferrets, horses, donkeys, goats, possums, squirrels, etc. I love the saying, "If animals are drawn to you, it's not random. They can sense good energy and are naturally drawn to calm and safe vibes." 🐐 🐑 🐕 I have been a volunteer at the Michigan Humane Society and I am also a medical professional (for humans). 🐈 💊 *Disclaimer: My '30' years of experience is personal. 💉 📆 My typical availability might be something like: M-Th evenings 6-9pm (I usually work my primary job M-TH 7am-5:30pm and almost NEVER available during these hours.) - *After those hours, FEEL FREE TO ASK IF NOT OPEN ON CALANDER* (I may arrive in medical scrubs), Friday afternoon 10am-3pm *FEEL FREE TO ASK IF NOT OPEN ON CALANDER* and most Saturdays / Sundays.✨ Sometimes I am more available and sometimes less... This schedule is not always definite but I will keep my calendar availability posted and up to date. *ALWAYS FEEL FREE TO ASK IF NOT OPEN ON CALANDER. I 'MAY' BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE* 📆 🏠 House sitting can also 'sometimes' be booked with notice if marked 'Unavailable' in my calendar. Feel free to ask. 🏠 ⚕️ Since I am attempting to transition from human care to animal care, I still work full time (plus) in the Human Healthcare field and my work schedule varies. (I am certified in human CPR and hopefully animal CPR to come...)⚕️ 🐈‍⬛ I have always had a strong desire to work with animals and I am hoping to finally transition from human care to animal care but I prefer to interact with animals and enjoy what they bring to the world, rather than do restraining and invasive procedures on them. 🐶 I am pretty intuitive about what makes an animal happy (and not) and I would make their time with me as awesome as I possibly can! Additionally, I would happily engage farm animals, birds, and others to my full ability!

About: I have over 25 years of experience caring for, loving and training various dogs and cats of all ages and sizes. My wife and I have 3 rescue dogs and 5 rescue cats, plus we regularly foster puppies and kittens. I know how important it is to ensure your babies are in good hands and safe while you’re away! I’ve worked with dogs and cats of many different ages, breeds, and temperaments over the years and have experience with potty, obedience and leash training, as well as caring for senior animals or administering medication etc. I love every pet as if they were my own!! I work fully remote so am entirely flexible throughout my day, including nights and weekends. I am able to accommodate the needs of the pet whether it involves a quick stop or an extended stay. I will always make sure your pet is secured in a fenced yard or on a leash. I don’t even like to leave pets unattended in the yard without keeping an eye on them. In the house it is important that boundaries are adhered to if there are certain areas off limits, and crate trained dogs are secured in their crate when left at home.

Rachel did a great job taking care of our dog, Sully! I get anxious about leaving him and this was the most relaxed I've been on a trip in a long time. She was timely and responsible, and really took in all of the Sully-information I gave her. (He has allergies and meds, so it was more info than your average dog.) She provided frequent updates and was able to get two rounds of exercise in, despite it being mid-July. Sully seemed really relaxed (and tuckered out!) when we returned and the house was in great shape. I would definitely hire Rachel again!

About: I've had dogs since I was little, and I am a compassionate dog caretaker. I love all dogs, young and old, healthy and ill. I want to spend all of my time with dogs and make them feel loved and taken care of! As of now I am not working, I just have two trips out of state before I start school in Chicago August 21 at which time I will be available in that area! I am attentive and careful when caring for dogs, and when taking them on walks I am patient and allow them to take their time and sniff around. I love playing with dogs' toys or cuddling with them. It makes me so happy to make them feel happy and loved.

About: I have always had a passion for caring for pets of all kinds. I am new to Rover, but not new to caring for pets. I am comfortable around both dogs & cats and am always willing to adapt and learn how to best care for your pet. I will bring fun, love, and enrichment when caring for you pet. I currently am in a hybrid masters program for Occupational Therapy & work as a substitute in a center based school, which allows for flexibility in my schedule as needed! I am able to bring my school work with me as needed anywhere I go which can allow me to spend more time with your pet. On days that I work, I am able to stop by on lunch breaks. When caring for your pet, I am willing to continue your pets normal routines/schedules to make them the most comfortable (walks, parks, play time, anything!). Also, with a flexible schedule, I am able to follow restricted/specific feeding times if necessary. I am new to caring for pets through Rover, but as a pet owner, I know it can be hard to leave your pet and be away for any amount of time. I will offer consistent and reliable care for your pet, regardless of size, breed, or behavior. If any concerns arise, I will contact you immediately using your preferred method & will be willing to help out in any way possible. I will send daily pictures & updates during each visit!

About: I've had at least one dog or cat for most of my life, and been coparent to my three cats for two years alongside my domestic partner. They are our babies, and love to play and cuddle. Growing up, would play with my dog(s) or walk them and pick up after them regularly. Available most weekdays and occasional weekends, though it can change from week to week. Currently in search of regular work but happy to work with pets. My three cats get regular feedings, litter changes and play time. I brush them and clip their nails, when they are cooperative, and they are harness trained and go outside at times.

Doreen went above and beyond while house sitting for my two dogs and cat. She responded quickly to my initial inquiry and set up a meet and greet. My dogs were immediately comfortable with Doreen. She went out of her way to get our mail and take out the trash during her stay. She provided frequent updates and left the house in the same condition it was left in. I will definitely rebook for our next trip! Thanks so much Doreen!

Tara was a great sitter. Clifden, seemed to warm up to her quicker than some other sitters we've had, which is a good thing, given his anxiety issues. The pics of Cliffy and Luna, as well as Tara's communication throughout the evening helped keep us at ease, as well. Thanks again, Tara! We hope you'll sit for us again in the future!

Katie watched our 3 dogs for a week while we took our first vacation with our 1 yr. old. We love our fur babies beyond belief. This was our first time using Rover and of course were hesitant. Katie did such an amazing job with communication and reassurance. I received updates daily as well as pictures. One of our dogs had an upset stomach while gone and Katie went above and beyond to take care of him. She prepared a bland diet for a couple days and spent extra time with him. It was so amazing not to have to worry about our fur babies. I highly recommend Katie and will most definitely be using her services again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Fraser

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Fraser on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,923 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fraser. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fraser walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fraser maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fraser choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fraser. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
