I’m a full-time teacher, so I’m available on weekdays for early morning care before work, or after 3:30 PM for walks, drop-ins, and evening care. I’m also available for boarding on weekends. During the summer and school breaks, my schedule opens up and I have much more daytime availability and flexibility. This allows me to provide extra attention, longer walks, and consistent care. I’m reliable, communicative, and great at sticking to routines to help your pup feel safe and comfortable!

Caring for pets in your home: When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as normal and consistent as possible. I follow all feeding schedules, medication instructions, and exercise routines exactly as provided. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, enrichment, and affection while also respecting their space and comfort level. I keep the home clean and tidy, provide updates with photos, and communicate clearly so you always feel at ease while you’re away. I’m attentive to behavior changes and will immediately notify you if anything seems off. Caring for pets in my home: I have a fully fenced-in yard for secure outdoor time, and my home is one story on a slab foundation — which is especially ideal for senior dogs or pups with mobility needs (no stairs to worry about!). There are no other animals in the home, so your dog will receive my full attention in a calm, low-stress environment. I’m also happy to crate your dog if that’s part of their routine and helps them feel safe and secure.

I’ve cared for 11 dogs throughout my life, pups from 8 weeks old all the way to 16 years old. I’m comfortable with every stage, from playful puppies to sweet seniors who need a little extra patience and gentle care. Senior dogs have a special place in my heart. I have experience giving medications, supporting mobility needs, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable in their golden years. I’m also able to do nail trims and baths, and I’ve cared for breeds ranging from pugs to pit bulls, size doesn’t matter! I’m confident handling dogs on walks, in public, or relaxing at home. In my free time, I volunteer with Detroit Animal Care and Control, taking dogs out for walks and public outings. I’m comfortable with all temperaments and energy levels and always prioritize safety, structure, and lots of love.

Samantha was really wonderful! She took very good care of my dogs and they loved her! She spent alot of time with them, communicated with me, sent pictures and even took them for a walk! I would highly recommend her!
Sam has been an absolute blessing for our family and our two beloved pugs, Bella and Bailey. Leaving your pets in someone else’s care is never easy, but with Sam we have always felt completely at peace knowing they were not just being watched — they were being loved. When Bella was still with us, Sam stayed in our home while we were away and treated both dogs as if they were her own. She walked them, brushed them, gave them their medications, and made sure they were comfortable and happy every single day. When Bella eventually struggled to walk, Sam lovingly placed her in a wagon so she could still enjoy being outside and part of the adventure. That level of compassion meant the world to us. Even now, Sam continues to care for Bailey and recently stayed at our home while we were on vacation. She kept us updated with messages and photos, which reassured us that Bailey was happy, relaxed, and being completely spoiled. It’s clear that Sam doesn’t just “watch” pets — she genuinely bonds with them. What makes Sam even more special is her love for animals beyond pet sitting. She volunteers with a Detroit animal rescue, taking shelter dogs out for afternoons on weekends so they can experience life outside the shelter. She’ll take them to the pet store, to places that welcome dogs like Home Depot, and even back to her own home so they can rest and feel safe before returning them to the shelter. That kind of generosity and compassion speaks volumes about the person she is. Sam is truly a rare kind of animal lover — patient, kind, responsible, and deeply compassionate. We feel incredibly fortunate to know her and trust her with our pets. Anyone who has the opportunity to have Sam care for their animals will feel the same gratitude and peace of mind that we do. 🐾💛
