I love this family! They do an awesome job with my walking instructions and the kids have helped care for my dogs before so they were excited to come along to walk my dogs this week. Truly love how this family cares for my pets and they took so many photos. My dogs are always excited to see them.

About: Hi! My name is Sarah. I grew up taking care of our family dog, rabbit, guinea pigs and fish. I feel comfortable and confident walking/caring for all different sizes and ages of dogs due to previously working for a dog walking/pet sitting company in the NOVA area during 2016-2017. During that year, I was also was responsible for overnight stays, and day time cat visits. My primary experience with pet care since that time has been taking care of my own dog (his name is Rudy, he is a toy poodle who has been the best friend we could dream of for almost 10 years and counting). I am in the medical field and am currently in between jobs, which allows my schedule to be flexible. I am available every weekday (and most weekends). For house sitting, I will keep to your desired schedule as my Rover schedule allows (as I will likely need to leave a few times during the day for other pet visits). I am comfortable staying overnight in your home. For dog walking, your dog’s safety is my top priority. I will avoid other dogs and if walking 2 dogs at the same time, I use a waist leash. I prefer to use a harness and non-retractable leashes (when available). Before or after their walk, we can also play fetch/play with toys inside or outside (if you have a fenced in yard). For cat visits, I am happy to clean their litter boxes, feed them, and play with them inside your home (only if they are interested, of course!) For either dogs or cats, I am able to administer oral or injectable medication if needed.

Mateo was amazing! He was incredibly responsive when I needed a last-minute dog walker and made the whole process stress-free. He was respectful of both me and my home, communicated throughout the visit, and gave my dog plenty of love, attention, and playtime. I could tell my dog was in great hands. I’d absolutely hire Mateo again in a heartbeat and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, caring dog walker.

Leah has been a life saver! Originally, we had booked her for specific days. However, we had to extend last minute and Leah was communicative and flexible within reason. I could tell my fur baby was loved and appreciated by the big old eyes and smile during this time. Couldn’t recommend someone better to care for your furbaby!

Sweta is outstanding! Communication is key especially when away and needing to trust your walker not only with your pet but your home as well. She was prompt for the times scheduled, respectful of my space and my pet and neighborhood. Professional and kind hearted. I felt that my dog was in good hands with Sweta and will be a repeat customer in the future.

About: I've lived with dogs of different breeds and sizes and ages my entire life. My favorite thing is to make them feel loved by giving them the care they deserve. I am a college student trying to discover what my passion is. I love dogs and want to expose myself to this field of experience. As a dog lover, I understand an owner's concern for their dog's safety and happiness. My goal is to alleviate these concerns and to ensure their dog is well taken care of so they can take care of their obligation without stress over their pets.

Whether it’s early morning walks, midday check-ins, or evening feedings, I plan my day around each pet’s needs to ensure they get consistent, loving attention. I’m usually available weekdays in the afternoon and Friday’s and weekends I’m free pretty much all day to care for your fur babies! When caring for pets in my client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress free as possible. I follow all instructions carefully, feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, and any special needs. I make sure they feel safe and comfortable by giving them plenty of attention, affection, and patience. I will also keep your home tidy, respect your space, and provide regular updates with photos so you can feel at ease while you’re away! My goal is to make your pet feel like you’re never gone! :)

About: Previous Yorkie and Rottweiler owner (one has passed, and one is with my parents). I have cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Looking for new families to support and doggies to play with! I work fully remote from home, which means I am the perfect victim for someone's fur baby who needs constant attention and cuddles!! My schedule is pretty flexible, and so I can easily accommodate walks, potty breaks, boarding, and play sessions. Because I'm home majority of the week, I am more than happy to provide some relief to where your pet will have some structure and interaction while you're away. I tend to each pet differently, as they each have different needs. A pet's safety and comfort is my top priority and if there is a preferred routine by the owner, I have always been told I follow directions very well! Otherwise, I am always mindful of each dog's personality and boundaries and will adjust to their needs accordingly whether that be in my home or yours.

About: Grew up caring for rescue dogs with my family. Currently have a rescue that I've had for 2 years as well as help care for 2 puppies. I currently work full-time, early morning to early afternoon. So I would be able to check in on pets or give some play/walk time in the afternoons/early evenings as well as all weekend In my own home my pets go on walks to relieve themselves due to living in an apartment. I have cared for other pets who need walks and have fenced in backyards.

About: I’ve taken care of many types of dogs, breed, age, and attitude wise. I’ve been considered very reliable and efficient with the way I work with dogs. She can also provide morning pr evening care depending on the booking. When caring for pets in a clients home, I follow the routine instructions given by the owner. I make sure pets have all they need and all the affection they need. I keep the home clean, respect the space, and send regular updates to the owners so the know everything is going good.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
