“Mateo is an excellent dog walker! He is reliable, punctual, and clearly cared about Milo. I received updates and photos which gave me peace of mind while I was away. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker.”

“This was a very last minute booking, but I gad recently used them for boarding so I was very comfortable knowing that they already had a relationship with one of my dogs. Took pictures! Showed great enthusiasm to come walk the dogs!”

About: I decided to start working full time again, but have built a great client base over the past year. I have truly enjoyed every dog I have watched. I purely do it because I love the dogs and so does the rest of my family! So if you need a weekend sitter or are okay with me being out of the house during the week, please contact me! I have been pet sitting on Rover since July 2021. I have 11+years experience as a dog owner as an adult. I had a family dog growing up as well. I have also watched friends dogs in my home. I previously volunteered at the fairfax county animal shelter to walk dogs and play with them. I work full time out of the home for about 8.5 hrs. If your dog can be alone for that long, than I would love to watch your pet. I am also available weekends. I have a small fenced in yard that is paved. However, the neighborhood has green areas and sidewalks to take the dogs on walks. I’m an active person so I can take your dog on walks as often as you request. My two kids love animals, but I am strict about how they play with them and I will not leave them unattended with your pet. Your pet will have free range of the home or if you prefer they can be crated if I have to leave the house.
About: I offer a professional pet care service dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized attention to your beloved pets. I offer a full range of services, including dog walking, in-home pet sitting, and overnight stays, all tailored to your pet's specific routine and needs. I provide peace of mind for pet parents by ensuring their furry friends are happy, safe, and well-cared for. As a remote employee, I can integrate pet care services into my daily routine by strategically scheduling client visits around my work hours and using flexible breaks. Depending on the service, I prioritize their physical and emotional well-being by maintaining routines, ensuring safety, and providing plenty of affection. Most importantly, I will follow the client's specific instructions and provide frequent, reassuring communication.
About: Fairly new to Rover but not to dog sitting!!! Previous Yorkie and Rottweiler owner. I have cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Looking for new families to support and doggies to play with! I work fully remote from home, which means I am the perfect victim for someone's fur baby who needs constant attention and cuddles!! My schedule is pretty flexible, and so I can easily accommodate walks, potty breaks, boarding, and play sessions. I tend to each pet differently, as they each have different needs. A pet's safety and comfort is my top priority and if there is a preferred routine by the owner, I have always been told I follow directions very well! Otherwise, I am always mindful of each dog's personality and boundaries and will adjust to their needs accordingly whether that be in my home or yours.
“There's something about her - my dog just instantly loved her. He loves everyone, but with Leah it was more of a calm "oh yeah" than his normal manic excitement over guests. She's a gem. She is communicative and reliable, putting my mind at ease.”

“Macy is awesome! She is so understanding, patient, and loving with our two labs (including one that takes a while to warm up)! Macy has excellent communication and is always on time, often early. It gives me such peace of mind to see how much our dogs love their weekly walks with her!”

About: Hi! My name is Sarah. I grew up taking care of our family dog, rabbit, guinea pigs and fish. I feel comfortable and confident walking/caring for all different sizes and ages of dogs due to previously working for a dog walking/pet sitting company in the NOVA area during 2016-2017. During that year, I was also was responsible for overnight stays, and day time cat visits. My primary experience with pet care since that time has been taking care of my own dog (his name is Rudy, he is a toy poodle who has been the best friend we could dream of for almost 10 years and counting). I am in the medical field and am currently in between jobs, which allows my schedule to be flexible. I am available every weekday (and most weekends). For house sitting, I will keep to your desired schedule as my Rover schedule allows (as I will likely need to leave a few times during the day for other pet visits). I am comfortable staying overnight in your home. For dog walking, your dog’s safety is my top priority. I will avoid other dogs and if walking 2 dogs at the same time, I use a waist leash. I prefer to use a harness and non-retractable leashes (when available). Before or after their walk, we can also play fetch/play with toys inside or outside (if you have a fenced in yard). For cat visits, I am happy to clean their litter boxes, feed them, and play with them inside your home (only if they are interested, of course!) For either dogs or cats, I am able to administer oral or injectable medication if needed.
About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and caring for pets is something I genuinely love. I helped raise my childhood dog from the time I was very young, and she lived to be 17 years old. Through her, I gained experience caring for senior dogs, including providing patience and support during her dementia later in life. I also currently have two cats that I help care for every day. Friends and family have trusted me to feed, play with, and check in on their pets, and becoming a veterinarian has always been one of my dream careers because of how much I care about animals. I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to work around my clients’ needs and availability. Since I’m not working a job right now, I’m able to provide dependable care at different times throughout the day and can stay with your pet as long as needed to make sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and safe. I genuinely love animals and have been around pets my entire life. I have experience caring for both cats and senior dogs, including helping care for my childhood dog who lived to be 17 years old. I understand how important patience, attention, and trust are when caring for someone’s pet, and I’ll always treat your animals with the same love and care I give my own pets.
About: I’ve worked with other dogs before and genuinely enjoy making them happy. I also love observing how well I get along with them and forming connections with them. It fits perfectly because I work with dogs every day, and I love coming back to hang out with them every chance I get. I love making connections. I ensure that they have access to certain things and refrain from feeding them anything that could make them ill. Additionally, I provide them with information about the activities they can engage in to prevent them from falling sick.
“We are extremely happy with Kilani. She walks our energetic dog four times a week and we always get updates and pictures. She is very knowledgeable and obviously loves dogs. We would definitely recommend Kilani to take care of your dog.”

About: I've had pets for nearly my entire life, and I've become a true animal lover as a result. I care for animals with the compassion and patience that they deserve. I have years of experience caring for pets for friends, family, and neighbors. Dogs, cats, exotic birds, and reptiles are among the animals I've had the pleasure of caring for. I work on a schedule that I make myself, so generally speaking there is no time that I can't make work to take care of your pet! I take your trust in me to come to your home very seriously, so I like to make sure that I'm transparent and open with exactly how I care for your pets. I will clean up any mess, give them any medicine necessary, and do anything else necessary to make you comfortable with me being there!

About: I’ve been caring for cats and dogs for over 3 years and truly love spending time with animals of all kinds! I started my experience working at a pet resort, where I spent 2 years caring for boarding pets. My responsibilities included feeding, walking, administering medications when needed, cleaning, and making sure every pet felt safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners were away. After that, I worked at an animal hospital, where I gained hands-on experience assisting with treatments and caring for pets in a medical setting. This helped me become comfortable recognizing changes in behavior, following detailed care instructions, and working with pets who may be nervous, elderly, or have special needs. I have plenty of time to play with your animal! I usually travel weekends, but will stay depending on the weekend! Happy to stay with your animal I've worked with many dogs with many different conditions! I've done medicine for dogs, as well as cared for all their different needs

I’m currently unemployed and working on selling my art so i’m free whenever you need me! I’m happy to work with a strict routine or a last minute walk, whatever makes life easier for you and your pet. When caring for your pets, I will respect and follow whatever instructions you provide! I understand that animals are very routine and trust based so i’m willing to be patient in learning what works best for them, to make them as comfortable as possible when in my care!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
