“We recently hired Carlos to take care of our Bichon mix “Gus” while on vacation in FL. Gus is five years old and we've had him since he was 10 weeks and he has never stayed with anyone other than family or close friends. Therefore, we were a bit nervous about leaving Gus with a stranger. Well Carlos was amazing! We cannot say enough good things about the way he not only took care of Gus but also reassured us on a daily basis through photos and detailed texts how great Gus was doing. What a relief! Gus interacted very well with Carlos’s dog as well as a couple of small dogs that came and went during Gus’s fun stay. We highly recommend Carlos and look forward to letting Gus camp out with him again! What a great decision we made to use Carlos!”

I am fortunate to work from home 3/5 days/wk which gives me plenty of flexibility throughout the day. If your pup needs frequent breaks, I’m your gal! I have a small fenced yard but rarely use it as I provide one long walk and three shorter walks throughout the day for our own pup. Our JJ is very sweet and friendly and enjoys having company over. I also have a large crate if your pup prefers the comfort of a crate.

About: If I could do life all over again, I would be a veterinarian and run a shelter. I’ve had pets of all kinds my entire life and sometimes like them better than some people, if we’re being honest. 😉 I have volunteered and fostered for a well known local animal rescue for the past several years, taking in fosters and getting them ready for their forever home. I love nurturing dogs from being unsure and scared from shelter life, to being happy, loved and confident. I currently have 2 dogs, a senior Yorkie and a young GSD mix. They are my children, and yours will be too! I have had pets cross the rainbow bridge and it taught me a lot about senior care and medications, so you can feel confident with that as well. I’ve used Rover as a client and I give to my fur-families what I expected from my walkers/sitters - PEACE OF MIND knowing your baby is safe, happy, loved and spoiled. I work from home and have good flexibility with my schedule. My backyard is townhouse small. It's great for potty breaks, but not running around. We take several walks a day for exercise and enrichment. Safety and comfort are my top priorities, so please note that I do not consider pets without a full profile, temperament description, full vaccinations, vet information, etc. Also, my home has all hardwood floors, so dogs with a fear of them, probably wouldn't be very happy here. 😢 Lastly, I am unable to board (for overnight or daycare) any dog, puppies included, that is not FULLY house trained. I have my own consulting business and work from home full time. On occasion I'll have lunch meetings or errands to run, but never for more than a couple hours. I have a small fenced yard for potty breaks. My dogs are dog and people friendly, but will give signals and respect for personal space.

Easy to drop off/pick up and get back on the highway again. She responded quickly when I made an inquiry about a weekly daycare hosting for my shy miniature poodle. I feel comfortable and confident walking/caring for all different sizes and ages of dogs due to previously working for a dog walking/pet sitting company in the NOVA area during 2016-2017. For house sitting, I will keep to your desired schedule as my Rover schedule allows (as I will likely need to leave a few times during the day for other pet visits). I am comfortable staying overnight in your home. For dog walking, your dog’s safety is my top priority. I will avoid other dogs and if walking 2 dogs at the same time, I use a waist leash. I prefer to use a harness and non-retractable leashes (when available). Before or after their walk, we can also play fetch/play with toys inside or outside (if you have a fenced in yard). For cat visits, I am happy to clean their litter boxes, feed them, and play with them inside your home (only if they are interested, of course!) For either dogs or cats, I am able to administer oral or injectable medication if needed.

“Michelle was wonderful with my boys! What I appreciated most was her daily updates — she kept me informed about how they were settling in, how they were adjusting to a new environment, and how they were getting along with her own fur girls. The photos she sent were such a comfort while I was away. Her communication was also excellent. When a potential marking issue came up, she handled it thoughtfully and professionally — she was open to using diapers instead of crating, which I really appreciated her flexibility on. The one area I’d note is that she seemed to have a busy work schedule, as we all do… When I returned, Huku’s (senior) diaper was full, suggesting he had not been out for a while that day— something to keep in mind if regular outdoor breaks are important for your pups. But overall, Michelle is super caring and communicative sitter who genuinely looks after your dogs. I would certainly ask her again!”
