“Audrey is a great sitter for my cats. She even took care of my tanks too. My cats are safe and happy. I got informed everyday and never got worried for my babies. I will definetly book her again”

“Connie was amazing! She was able to sit on relatively short notice, clear communication, adapted to my cats’ typical schedules, and took great care of them and my apartment for the 2 weeks while I was gone. Will definitely book again!”

“Attentive, trustworthy miracle-worker! I needed a sitter last minute and Kelsey responded right away. She brings her dog with her and was very upfront about that. She was also very thoughtful about ensuring the dogs met in a way that was the least stressful for them (and me!). She arrived early to spend time with Merlin and chat with me, which was much appreciated. I felt completely comfortable with her taking care of Merlin and being in my home. She was very kind and clearly very attentive to Merlin, even playing bird songs to relax and distract him. He has separation anxiety and normally howls, barks, and paces when I leave. He had no trouble with Kelsey though and seemed very relaxed when I got home. It was amazing! I would absolutely recommend her.”

“Laura is an awesome pet sitter! She took great care of our 2 Aussies. We communicated throughout our vacation and she sent photos daily. We found our home in perfect condition. We will definitely request her in the near future. Thank you, Laura!”

“Jessica was absolutely outstanding and did an incredible job!! We appreciated her so much and she was so responsive. A very fun and loving person for our animals and we appreciated her saving us with our last minute booking!!!!”

“Denys took amazing care of our dog Rocky while we were away. He was reliable, caring, and kept us at ease knowing Rocky was in great hands. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats and have been caring for animals for nearly my entire life. For the past 20 years, I’ve consistently lived in a home with three to four cats, so caring for multiple pets at once and keeping up with their individual personalities, routines, and needs is second nature to me. As a longtime pet owner, I’m very hands-on with daily care. I feed my cats every day, scoop and maintain their litter boxes daily, vacuum regularly to keep their environment clean, trim their nails, help keep them well-groomed, and administer medication when needed. I know firsthand that cats especially can have very different personalities and comfort levels, and I’m patient about letting them warm up to me on their own terms. I also have plenty of experience with dogs and understand the importance of keeping them active, engaged, and on their normal schedule. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, basic care, or simply keeping your pet company, I’ll follow your instructions carefully and make sure their routine stays as consistent as possible while you’re away. Most importantly, I’ll treat your pets with the same attention and care I give my own. I’m dependable, communicative, and attentive to the little things that can signal when a pet needs something. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages throughout my visits so you can relax knowing your pets are safe, comfortable, and getting plenty of attention. I’ve lived with cats for virtually my entire adult life and currently have three of my own. Caring for them is part of my everyday routine, from feeding them twice a day and scooping the litter box daily to vacuuming regularly to keep a clean, comfortable environment. I also have experience administering medication when needed, trimming nails, and keeping cats well groomed. I understand that every cat has their own personality and routine, whether they’re playful and social or prefer a quiet space. I’ll care for your cat with patience, follow your instructions closely, and keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have complete peace of mind while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I’ll follow your care instructions closely, keep your home clean and secure, and make sure your pet receives the attention, exercise, and care they need. I’m respectful of both your home and your pet’s routine, and I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know how they’re doing.

“Natalia cared for Megan and Saber like they were her own. She sent photos and videos daily which is important for us. This was our first time using Natalia to care for our babes and we will continue to use her services because she went above and beyond what was asked. After two weeks of being away, we are happy to be home and find our two greyhounds happy and peaceful. Five stars all around.”

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with pets and making sure they receive the attention, exercise, and affection they need. “Valeria house-sat for me for a few days and exceeded all expectations. She clearly spent quality time with both my dog and cat, giving them the attention and care they needed while I was away. Her communication was outstanding throughout the stay. She kept me updated with regular messages and photos, which gave me such peace of mind knowing my pets were in great hands. The dog walks were consistent, and it was obvious she genuinely cared for my pets’ wellbeing. Valeria is incredibly friendly, responsible, and professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to other pet parents, and I’ll definitely be booking with her again in the future. Thank you, Valeria, for taking such wonderful care of my fur babies!”

Still only fabulous things to say about Troy! Our rescue boy, an 80 lb American bulldog mix gets a bit sad and anxious when we leave, but we feel completely comfortable knowing Troy is with him! And I’m pretty sure they’ve become great buddies. When Troy showed up only a month later after his first house sitting, Cashie was super excited to see him and brought him a toy :) Highly recommend! Thank you Troy!!

Jess watched my four fur babies while we were away for 8 days. It was stressful to leave them behind but she made it a little easier. She came by before hand to meet everyone and stayed in touch throughout. Her communication was excellent, she shared photos and updates often. I love that she works remote so the babies were never alone very long! Overall a great experience, thank you Jess!

Yana came to dog sit our very anxious cavapoo, Bubbles! She went above and beyond making sure he felt safe, comfortable, and loved. She was excellent following our detailed instructions and communicating with us about how he was doing. Would absolutely book Yana again in a heartbeat. Can’t recommend her enough!
Overall, we had a positive experience with Sofia and Archie and Miles appeared to be well cared for while we were away. Everything seemed to go smoothly and we returned home to two happy dogs. My only suggestion would be more frequent communication and photos during the stay. As a pet parent, it's always reassuring to receive regular updates and see how the dogs are doing while you're away. Regardless, we appreciated the care provided and would definitely book again in the future.
Anna is one of a kind! Anna dog sat for my dog Chewy and stayed at my place for almost a full month. She is super attentive, reliable, communicative, and clean! I have a super anxious dog who is on medication, and Anna was always giving me updates and giving my dog Chewy extra care and love; even buying her a dog toy! Couldn’t recommend Anna enough! 🤩🤩

Monique spent a night house sitting our 13 year old cockapoo who does not like to be alone. Monique was a great communicator, reliable and Callie seemed to really enjoy her company. She left the house in great shape and Callie was calm and happy. Would definitely ask Monique to dog sit again!

Natalia is a compassionate and attentive dog sitter who provided exceptional care for my 2-year-old Alaskan Klee Kai. My pup has separation anxiety which means it's hard to leave her at home alone. Natalia's warm and gentle nature put her at ease right away. I first booked a drop-in visit a few days prior to meet and greet before the longer stay. Natalia's thoughtful questions and attention to preparation details gave me confidence in her ability to provide top-notch care. From the moment we met I knew this is the sweetest person on earth. She's so caring and her engaging energy drew my pup right to her to feel safe and friends. During her 6+ hour stay the evening of my events, Natalia kept us updated with sweet photos and messages, and even took pup on a fun-filled walk and patiently extended her play sessions. It's clear Natalia is a true animal lover with a kind heart. I felt like I was leaving my fur-daughter with a friend, not a stranger. Highly recommend Natalia!

when it comes to Lulu's care, and Lauren exceeded every single one of them. She cared for my senior dog Lulu, who has significant needs due to advanced arthritis, and Lauren handled everything with such grace, patience, and attentiveness. She was incredibly gentle with Lulu, taking every precaution to keep her comfortable, and it was clear she truly understood and cared about Lulu's unique challenges. Lauren was also a joy to communicate with — responsive, responsible, and reassuring throughout. If you have a dog with special needs, look no further. Lauren is a gem, and Lulu and I are so grateful to have found her. Five stars, without hesitation!

Carolane was amazing!! She was prompt with all responses and helped keep me updated with my babies while I was gone. She was great with my older dog Bella and my kitten Rae who recently had surgery so that was a huge relief for me as having multiple animals can be tough! We will be looking forward to our next booking with Carolane again :)

Olga was absolutely amazing with Mia and Milos! She is incredibly thoughtful and caring, she fed them on time, took them out regularly, and kept me updated with every little detail. I loved all the photos she sent throughout their stay, which made me feel so comfortable and at ease. My dogs were truly happy with her. I would definitely have her watch them again. Highly recommend!

Ilgas was amazing. She was prompt and on time. I was the one running a little late and she was very flexible and understanding. She took great care of my pet and left my place exactly as she found it. I am really happy with the service and would definitely book with her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Fisher Island on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 3,928 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fisher Island. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fisher Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fisher Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fisher Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fisher Island. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
