About: Hi, I’m Frederick! I’m dependable, active, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I provide attentive care, consistent communication, and a safe, comfortable environment for every pet I care for. I understand how important it is to feel confident leaving your pet with someone you trust, so I focus on reliability, patience, and making sure pets feel relaxed and cared for while you’re away. Whether it’s walks, drop-in visits, daycare, or overnight care, I treat every pet with the same attention and respect I’d want for my own. I’m especially great with active dogs that enjoy exercise and outdoor walks, but I’m also patient with shy pets, senior dogs, and pets that need a calmer approach. I make sure owners stay updated with photos, videos, and quick responses throughout each visit or stay. My goal is simple: keep your pet safe, comfortable, active, and happy while giving you peace of mind. Services I offer: • Dog walking • Drop-in visits • House sitting • Doggy daycare • Boarding (if applicable) Why owners book with me: • Fast communication • Reliable scheduling • Daily updates & photos • Active and attentive care • Calm and trustworthy approach • Flexible availability Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I’m active, reliable, and flexible with scheduling. I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, daycare, and overnight care throughout the week and weekends. I make sure pets receive plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and consistent care while keeping owners updated with photos and quick communication. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, clean, and attentive environment while following each pet’s routine and specific care instructions carefully. I’m patient with different personalities and energy levels, and I always make sure pets feel secure, supervised, and comfortable whether in my home or the client’s home. I also provide regular updates, photos, and fast communication for peace of mind.
About: I’ve loved and cared for animals my entire life. I grew up with both a dog and a cat, and as an adult, I’ve had cats of my own and have cared for both dogs and cats for friends, neighbors, and families while they were traveling or needed extra help. I also have hands-on experience fostering cats, volunteering with a cat rescue, and feeding community cats in my neighborhood. Because of that, I’m very comfortable with different pet personalities, from playful and social to shy, cautious, or independent. I understand how important it is to be patient, gentle, reliable, and attentive, especially when pets are in their own home, and their people are away. I’ll treat your pets with the same care and kindness I would want for my own. I work from home as a freelance grant writer and consultant, which gives me a flexible schedule and makes it easier for me to fit pet care into my day. I’m usually able to work around your pet’s needs, whether that means drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, walks, or giving them some company while you’re away. I also have one teenager at home who is very independent, so my schedule is not tied up with young children or a rigid routine. Because I’m local and have flexibility during the week, I can be dependable and responsive when your pets need care. I’m happy to come to your home to care for your pets where they feel most comfortable and secure. At this time, I’m not able to board pets in my own home. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to follow your instructions closely and keep your pet’s routine as normal as possible. I’ll make sure they have fresh food and water, clean litter boxes or potty breaks, walks or playtime as needed, and plenty of attention based on their personality and comfort level. I’m also respectful of your home and will be careful with keys, doors, gates, feeding instructions, medications if needed, and any safety rules you provide. My goal is for your pets to feel safe, cared for, and loved while you’re away, and for you to feel confident that they’re in responsible hands.
“Marcy was outstanding. One of the best Rover services we have had. She stayed at my house caring for me senior doberman dog. She was very respectful, responsive, and sent us daily updates and pictures. Upon my return, I found the house perfectly clean and organized.”

“Rosanna was nice responsible and easy to communicate with. She stayed in contact through the whole process and sent me updates and pictures. She also put up with my pups medical needs without problem. They looked unphased and relaxed when I came back.”
About: I’ve taken care of pets for the majority of my life, having helped raise a cane corso, a chihuahua, and a shitzu. I’ve also taken care of a yellow lab (my grandparents). I’ve taken care of pets my whole life, from infancy to senior care. I’m not at my dad’s house every weekend but when I am, I walk my cane corso and feed and play with my cane corso, chihuahua, and shitzu. Additionally, my shitzu is not yet potty trained so I find myself cleaning up after her quite a lot. I have 2 friendly (and 1 not so friendly) dogs who are very energetic. I understand the need to play/expend energy in both smaller and bigger dog breeds. I take them all on potty breaks and walks, I feed them and play with them. I love my dogs and try and provide them with the upmost care.

About: I've taken care of pets since I was a kid, including family and friends' dogs from puppyhood to adulthood, cats, birds, fish and the occasional reptile! I find myself free for the summer before starting a new job in the fall-which means I can be there when you need me. Feel free to call, text, or email! I'm almost completely free between now and the last week in August, so my schedule can be supremely flexible to accommodate your needs and those of your pet! As a homeowner myself, I take watching and caring for your home as seriously as I do your pet. That means strict adherence to your instructions, rules, and boundaries, and clear communication with you.

I had a fantastic experience with Macenna. She took such warm, attentive care of my dog—it was clear from the start that my pup felt comfortable and happy. I especially appreciated the regular updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. On top of that, my home was left spotless and well cared for. Highly recommend!

Anna was amazing! I had family wedding to attend and my frenchie ended up with an eye ulcer in the weeks before. She’s with a cone and requires 4 eye meds multiple times a day. I was so nervous to leave my girl! But, Anna was organized and attentive. She sent me constant updates and she learned about my dog’s condition in order to best care for her. She left my apartment spotless. I would 100% use her again and completely trust her.

Izabella was AMAZING! WE BOOKED HER LAST MINUTE TO STAY WITH OUR TWO SMALL DOGS TO KEEP THEM COMPANY ALL DAY WHILE WE WERE OUT EXPLORING AND SHE COULDN’T HAVE TAKEN BETTER CARE OF THEM! Two walks, lots of pictures and videos of them playing together kept my mind at ease when they were with someone unfamiliar. They quickly fell in love with her! I’d pay her double for her service if we are ever back in the area. Thank you again so much, Izabella!

Jodi has a great demeanor and you can tell she is super responsible. She sat my two cats for a few nights and all went smooth. There wasn’t a lot of communication and I had to make sure she got in ok and check in, but that’s fine. She let me know when she left and listed what she did on the way out. My only qualms were that the water tank in the cat water system was completely empty and the litter hadn’t been cleaned out the day she left, which were clear on my instructions. Besides that all went well. She is a very nice person and I had a comfortable meet and greet with her beforehand. I would hire her again for sure.

Erika is absolutely wonderful. She took care of our dog for the first time, and I’m not sure our pup wanted us to come back! Erika gave standoffish and somewhat anxious dog a staycation to remember—great walks, companionable time outside, hanging out together on the couch, good healthy meals. She set up his treat puzzle, which he loves and which keeps him busy. She soothed him during a loud thunderstorm. She communicated with us—regularly sending photos and notes that reassured and amused us. Erika is professional, delightful, knowledgeable, and an absolute godsend for doting pet owners. Thank you, Erika!!!!
Elvira (Elly) was an amazing in-house cat sitter for my two girls. She sent me photos and constantly updated me on their happenings, with text and photos. She asked questions when needed and always responded promptly. My apartment was kept completely tidy and as I left it. Elly was attentive and followed directions perfectly- plus she herself has a lovely personality and was a bright and cheerful person. I will definitely hire her again and trust her with my cats.

I can't recommend anyone more highly. After my original house sitter was injured and had to cancel the day before leaving for my son's wedding... Sophia came right over, met my dogs and took great care of them for the next 5 nights... including daily pictures and videos. Most importantly... my dogs love her. I can't wait to hire her again.

I’m so glad Rajiv was able to care for my two cats! Highly recommend! I was really nervous about leaving them for the first time and Rajiv really put me at ease, he was really communicative and sent me updates every day. My cats seemed to have a really comfortable time with Rajiv around and my place was tidy when I arrived! Highly recommend Rajiv to watch your fur babies

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Surfside walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Surfside maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Surfside choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Surfside. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
