About: I've had dogs in my life since I was 5 years old, so caring for them is second nature to me. I started pet sitting for neighbors as a kid, and these days I regularly watch my aunt's dogs whenever she's out of town. I know how to read a dog's body language, stick to a routine, and keep them comfortable, safe, and happy when their people are away. Dogs are already a built-in part of my routine. I'm used to walking, feeding, and spending time with dogs every day. My schedule is highly flexible, so I can fit in morning, midday, or evening walks, last-minute requests, weekends, holidays, and overnight stays. When a dog is in my care, they're my priority, so I plan my day around their walks, meals, and playtime rather than squeezing them in. Every dog is different, so I start by learning their routine: when they eat, how much they walk, what they love, and what makes them nervous. I follow the owner's instructions for feeding, medication, and exercise, and I keep the schedule as close to what they're used to as I can so they feel secure. For walks, I keep dogs on a secure leash, watch for hazards, and make sure they get fresh water and breaks. About: Hi, My name is Julia and up until a couple years ago I used to have a large black pit/lab mix named Cash (after Johnny Cash ☺️). I had him for almost 8 years since he was a puppy and trained him myself (I even got him therapy dog certified so I could take him to work with me at the hospital sometimes). I have experience taking care of him as well as friends/family dogs of all breeds and sizes from puppies to senior dogs. Unfortunately, he battled cancer for almost two years and he lost that battle a few years ago 😔. I wasn’t ready for another dog for a few years so I just fostered dogs and volunteered at shelters. However, a couple years ago I found my current pup Zev on the streets in a small village in Portugal and knew he was meant to be my dog. He’s a sweet scruffy mixed breed dog that loves people, dogs, affection, swimming, adventuring, and playing fetch. Nothing makes me happier than being around & taking care of dogs! Keeping dogs safe and happy is a priority to me! I really love all animals of all breeds, but especially love dogs! ❤️ In my free time and as I travel, I volunteer with local dog shelters & foster as I’m able to.
