“I can’t say enough good things about Anthony,, All my animals loved him! He took great care of my house and he followed all my directions,, I really thought he was great and I already booked him for 3 more time😁 Try him he’s Wonderful!!”

“I had a fantastic experience with Macenna. She took such warm, attentive care of my dog—it was clear from the start that my pup felt comfortable and happy. I especially appreciated the regular updates and photos, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. On top of that, my home was left spotless and well cared for. Highly recommend!”

“Leo helped me out when I was in a jam. He agreed to take care of my dog and cat on very short notice and did a great job with them, keeping me informed multiple times per day. Highly recommend.”

About: I’ve had both cats and dogs since a young age and I have also watched my friend’s cats and dogs several times. I have a protective dog and have watched very high energy dogs so I understand each pet is different and that means they will have different needs. I love being around any and all animals! I’m currently in college so I will be available between classes and my part time job! I typically have free time each day, even if I do have classes or work. I can hang out with your pets for as long as you need and if there are any special instructions, I would be happy to follow them!

“After some nightmare experiences with other sitters, Juliana was a god send. She was patient with my hyper puppy, but more than that she was reliable. Super communicative. Sent lots of updates and videos. And my pup loved her! Thank you so much Juliana!”

“Audrey did a great job caring for our Great Dane for almost two weeks while we were away (stayed in our home w/the dog). Routinely updated and sent photos; didn’t hesitate to ask questions or request clarifications on food/activities/routine; and, probably the best feedback anyone could want, our neighbors asked for her contact info so they could hire her, too. Will book again and highly recommend.”

“Andres is an absolute gem; he was wonderful with our four-month old puppy, and in communicating with us over the week he cared for him. You won’t find a more warm, responsible and communicative sitter!”

“Isabel did a fantastic job with our dog, Bear, at very short notice. Bear has multiple degenerative diseases and is newly blind and she was very patient and loving with him. She gave him a shot and pills twice a day and took him for walks. She sent me great updates and pics too. Definitely recommend!!!”

“Frederick stayed at our house to watch my senior Doberman over the Fourth of July weekend. My dog has mobility issues, anxiety, needs frequent potty breaks, and requires a lot of hands-on care. The love, patience, and affection Frederick showed him went far beyond our expectations and anything we've experienced with previous pet sitters. Frederick was always quick to respond, very respectful, and followed all of our instructions carefully, including giving multiple medications. He also took great care of our home and left everything clean and tidy. I honestly can't recommend Frederick enough. Knowing my dog was so well cared for gave us so much peace of mind, and I wouldn't hesitate to have him stay with him again.”

“Rosanna was nice responsible and easy to communicate with. She stayed in contact through the whole process and sent me updates and pictures. She also put up with my pups medical needs without problem. They looked unphased and relaxed when I came back.”
About: I’ve been around dogs and cats for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories is growing up with three Jack Russells tearing through our house, so I learned pretty quickly that loving animals also means understanding their energy, personalities, body language, and needs. My family has always adopted from shelters, and our animals have never felt like “pets.” They are family members, and I treat the animals in my care the same way. I’m attentive, hands on, and not afraid of the messy parts of caring for them, whether that means checking a dog’s mouth when something seems wrong, cleaning up an accident, noticing a change in behavior, or simply giving them the patience and affection they need. I truly believe animals deserve someone who pays attention and takes their care seriously. I’m responsible, respectful, comfortable with both dogs and cats, and very used to all the stinky, silly, chaotic, and loving energy that comes with them. Trust me, I get it, and I’m your gal! I’m currently transitioning careers, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to your pet. I genuinely love being outdoors, walking, exploring, and appreciating nature, so having a furry companion along makes it even better! After recently losing my Chihuahua of 10 years, spending time with animals brings me so much joy. Since my condo doesn’t allow pets of my own, I have a whole lot of love and attention waiting for yours. Trust and communication are incredibly important to me when someone is placing their pet in my care. I’ll always be reachable and transparent about what our day looks like, with plenty of text updates and photos along the way. I pay close attention to each animal’s behavior, comfort, routine, and surroundings, and I’m happy to follow whatever instructions help your pet feel safest and most at home. My goal is simple: a happy pet, a comfortable owner, and a safe, loving experience for everyone.
“Ernesto was GREAT, he came by before I left for a trail walk with Tuxedo loved him, He watched Tux for 8 days all throughout he sent pictures and texts. He followed my instructions and spent lots of time with Tux while I was gone. He was totally responsible and professional. I will be using him again and you should too !”

“**5 Stars for Andrea!** ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Andrea was absolutely wonderful with our kitties! She took amazing care of them while we were away and sent us the sweetest photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. It’s clear she truly loves animals, and our cats adored her. We highly recommend her and will definitely be booking with her again! 🐾💕”
“Brittney is awesome.... she house sat and took care of my 2 crazy dogs for an extended weekend. My girls were happy, walked, fed, clean and had her great company and care. She's great, I'll definitely be using her in the future and you should too!”

About: I have experience caring for dogs, cats, fish, hedgehogs, and plants. I am patient, attentive, reliable, and committed to following each pet’s unique routine and care instructions. I work from home and set my own hours, which gives me the flexibility to provide consistent care, attention, feeding, playtime, and check-ins throughout the day. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions and keep pets comfortable in their familiar routine. I respect the client’s home, keep food and litter areas clean, secure doors and windows, and provide regular updates for peace of mind.

“Jacqueline was so sweet and communicative when she watched our dogs this last week! She sent lots of photos and updates, and she was very flexible when we had flight changes. Our dogs love her and we’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Camila was outstanding! My little Pepe loves her. She played with him, and sent me a photo of him, while I was away. Pepe has separation anxiety; NEVER barked or cried when I left. He was having too much fun with Camila.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bay Harbor Islands
Naomi and her husband did an absolutely, positively AMAZING job taking care of my animals! I honestly couldn’t have asked for better pet sitters. I’ll be completely honest — I was very nervous about having someone I found through an app come into my home and take care of my animals. It’s a big thing for me to trust someone with my pets and my personal space, so I had a lot of hesitation at first. But Naomi gave me such a sense of reassurance and comfort from the very beginning. She was so kind, understanding, communicative, and made me feel like I had nothing to worry about. They went above and beyond to make sure my animals were happy, comfortable, loved, and having fun. Knowing that they were being treated with so much care while I was away gave me such peace of mind. You can genuinely tell that Naomi and her husband have a true love for animals and treat them like their own. They were respectful of my home, attentive to my animals, and made the entire experience so much easier than I ever expected. I’m honestly so grateful I decided to trust them. They completely changed my perspective on using Rover, and I would absolutely have them take care of my animals again without hesitation. If you’re someone who is nervous about letting a stranger from an app into your home or trusting someone with your pets, I HIGHLY recommend Naomi and her husband. They were wonderful from beginning to end, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you both so much for taking such amazing care of my babies! ❤️🐾

Macenna did a wonderful job caring for Norman and our home. Norman has epilepsy and requires a very specific routine, including medication every eight hours, so his care involves a lot of detailed instructions and consistency. Macenna took this responsibility seriously and followed his schedule and care instructions extremely well. She is smart, responsible, trustworthy, and has a great attitude. If she ever had a question or wasn’t certain about something, she asked rather than making assumptions, which I really appreciated. She is also very receptive to feedback and communicates well—both qualities that are especially important to me when someone is caring for a pet with complex needs. I also felt completely comfortable trusting Macenna in our home. She handled both Norman’s care and the responsibilities around our house with maturity and good judgment. Having someone who listens carefully, communicates, and genuinely wants to do things correctly gave me tremendous peace of mind while we were away. I would absolutely trust her to care for Norman and our home again and highly recommend her.

Frederick stayed at our place and took great care of our American staffordshire terrier! He was super reliable, responsive and I was at ease knowing that my dog is in good hands. He has a lot of experience with dogs and it was amazing that he could run with him. He left our place in super tidy and clean condition, sent us daily updates and I could tell my dog loves him. I’m very happy we found Frederick. Highly recommend!

Kniaka took wonderful care of Gigi! She kept me updated with pictures and messages throughout the stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. I would definitely trust Kniaka with Gigi again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter. Thank you so much! ❤️

Herbert was extremely communicative and proactive when it came to caring for my 3 cats! He sent daily updates and was sure to ask questions when any concerns came up. He followed all directions and went above and beyond to make sure my pets felt cared for. Very grateful for his service and I will be booking him again in the near future!!

Anna was amazing! I had family wedding to attend and my frenchie ended up with an eye ulcer in the weeks before. She’s with a cone and requires 4 eye meds multiple times a day. I was so nervous to leave my girl! But, Anna was organized and attentive. She sent me constant updates and she learned about my dog’s condition in order to best care for her. She left my apartment spotless. I would 100% use her again and completely trust her.

Izabella was AMAZING! WE BOOKED HER LAST MINUTE TO STAY WITH OUR TWO SMALL DOGS TO KEEP THEM COMPANY ALL DAY WHILE WE WERE OUT EXPLORING AND SHE COULDN’T HAVE TAKEN BETTER CARE OF THEM! Two walks, lots of pictures and videos of them playing together kept my mind at ease when they were with someone unfamiliar. They quickly fell in love with her! I’d pay her double for her service if we are ever back in the area. Thank you again so much, Izabella!

Jodi has a great demeanor and you can tell she is super responsible. She sat my two cats for a few nights and all went smooth. There wasn’t a lot of communication and I had to make sure she got in ok and check in, but that’s fine. She let me know when she left and listed what she did on the way out. My only qualms were that the water tank in the cat water system was completely empty and the litter hadn’t been cleaned out the day she left, which were clear on my instructions. Besides that all went well. She is a very nice person and I had a comfortable meet and greet with her beforehand. I would hire her again for sure.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bay Harbor Islands walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bay Harbor Islands maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bay Harbor Islands choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
