About: Hi! My name is Esther and I am a current grad student with multiple years of experience caring for dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes in the comfort of their home. I specialize in drop-in visits and overnight stays for pets, whether it’s one on one or if you have multiple fur babies! I have experience with both XL and smaller breeds and multi-pet homes. I currently don’t have any pets of my own (working on it!) but I love volunteering at BARCS in my free time. I do have a full time job that will be transitioning to hybrid soon, but for now I am available for all your early morning/late night and weekend needs! Please reach out with any questions or concerns. I’m currently working full time, with early morning and evening availability. I will be transitioning to hybrid soon that would give me more flexibility with my schedule. I am also available for weekend and overnight services. I understand how big of a deal it is to entrust your pets to others, and I prefer to care for your pets in the comfort of their home following all of your requests and preferences!
“Sarah was absolutely amazing! This was the first time we used the app and went away for an extended time. She provided updates and was super patient with my dog who was super anxious. Thank you again,”

About: I’ve had the pleasure of growing up with all types of animals and learning at a young age the responsibility of caring for them. I started pet sitting when I was 15 and have been comfortable with all sizes of dogs, cats, and critters in between. I am comfortable administering medicine if needed and have had experience doing so with my own fur babies as well as the ones I have cared for. I also have experience and am comfortable with caring for animals with anxiety. I know that it can be challenging finding the right person to fit the needs/wants that your companion requires and I strive to provide the dedication, patience, and love your friend deserves. My hours are flexible and I am able to make my own schedule for work, therefore I am able to accommodate the needs of your pets care at your convenience and am a very dependable pet care taker. I have always had so much love for animals since I was a little girl and that love has only grown more as I’ve matured. I know how weary it can be trusting a new person with something so precious to you and I want to be someone who can put your mind at ease knowing that your fur baby is in great hands! I am a very responsible, reliable, and loving individual who really enjoys caring for and being around animals. Your companion will get all the love and attention they deserve while in my care!
“This is the second time we have booked with Jun and we will continue to book with him for as long as he is pet sitting. Our shy, people-adverse kitty warmed up to him immediately and he treats her like she is his own pet. We can’t recommend Jun enough!!”

“Wow! Caitlin is truly the BEST! Her outstanding service & care for Mr. Boots, my precious cat, has been phenomenal. The daily photos of Mr. Boots getting full attention and care really won me over. I would highly recommend Caitlin to care for your pet (s) she is a true professional!”

“Elizabeth was a great communicator and I felt safe leaving her with my cats. We were worried about our boy needing medication while we were gone and she was wonderful and got it done with no issues.”

“Nathaly is caring and dependable. My pets look forward to their time with her playing and being snuggled. I have an elderly dog who requires medication and a special diet and Nathaly carries her down the steps and makes sure her needs are met. She is a loving person and flexible with my crazy schedule and long shifts. 💕”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs and cats for over six years now. I enjoy what I do. I am a writer but I take time away to spend with animals and nature as much as possible. I love meeting new animals and learning all of their quirks and personalities. I take good pictures for the owners and to document my time with them. I enjoy doing this! Unfortunately my schedule is my own though so I go week to week and don’t typically take on M-F clients every week clients. I work remote with a flexible schedule and I have a lot of free time during the day to do drop in visits and walks. I do not have boarding in my home available at this time. I will adhere to any needs your pet has in your home and ensure they are not stuck in a crate all day.
About: Size limit 20 pounds (adult size) for fun and safety (no large breed puppies). Your small or tiny dog will have up to 4 right-sized buddies to play with in my big securely-fenced yard. Professionally, I am a masters-prepared nurse and dog trainer who specializes in working with small dogs and puppies. I have worked with dogs professionally for more than 20 years, as a vet technician and dog trainer. There is no substitute for experience! I am very comfortable monitoring and managing dog play to keep everyone safe and happy, as well as managing special needs, giving medication, bathing, clipping nails, etc. Your dog will thrive with expert care from an experienced professional. I work from home and have lots of extra room on my couch for your little one! Your dog is most welcome to join us for couch time, walkies, and supervised outdoor play time in my large securely fenced garden. I am home most of the time, but I do go out to do normal things (the gym, errands, occasional social engagements). Please let me know if your dog is not crate trained. I do separate the dogs for safety when I Ieave the house, but can use gates or an ex-pen instead of a crate if that works better for your little one. I may be able to accommodate a dog that cannot be left home alone, depending on the specifics, please ask if this is the case. Your dog's safety is my first priority, followed by creating a fun and relaxing environment for your little one. You can relax knowing that your dog is in great hands and enjoying their own doggie vacation. I only accept dog-friendly small dogs under 20 pounds, so your little one will have size-appropriate buddies to play with! I manage drop offs and pickups with safety in mind, and I'm very happy to offer pick up and delivery to make your boarding experience as convenient as possible!
About: I have taken care of dogs and cats of all ages and health needs for over 10 years. My love of animals is vast and there is not one that I haven't loved instantly. I love long walks with my animals and would love to do that with yours as well. If you board with me just know your fur babies will have the most comfortable, safe, and loving experience with me! I can't wait to meet you both. Feel free to use my referral code for $20 off your first booking with me! (NEEJ82902, https://www.rover.com/sit/neej82902) I currently work from home and will have plenty of time to care for your pet. The flexibility of my work day allows me the ability to manage pet care that is pet and owner centered. I have an un fenced yard and many schools and parks within walking distance. I also have a cat and a dog who would love to keep your furry friend company!

About: I have experience taking care of a border collie, Australian Shepard, and a German Shepard. I enjoy walking around the city and always open to a companion or two joining me. I am able to host dogs at my place, with my German Shepard. I have a fully fenced in yard that all dogs can play in, and I can walk them around my neighborhood. I am also able to do drop in visits for dogs or cats and stop by to walk any dogs. I normally travel for work 3 days a week. When not traveling I am either working from home or have local visits. I plan out my visits so that any pets staying with me will not go longer than 4 hours alone. I will allow all dogs to roam freely while I’m at home and take a break to play with them, and my dog, for about 10 minutes every hour. It gets boring sitting in front of a computer. For any walks or drop ins the time is spent making sure they get plenty of stimulation. Whether it’s walking a new route or playing in the yard I have a fenced in back yard. No other dogs or animals get in the yard, except a squirrel or two. When walking in my neighborhood there is minimal traffic since it has no way for cars to go through it( a lot of dead end streets). I’m close to 695 so if an emergency happens I can get to many vets in the area fast.
“Kali did a great job watching our 3 cats for us while we were gone. She made sure they were taken care of and sent us adorable photos of our cats comfortable and happy. We were so happy to have someone friendly and reliable taking care of our cats while we were out!”

About: I house-sat, pet-sat, and dog-walked all through college and grad school and now that I’m working full time as a nurse, I’m missing out! I’d love to care for your sweet fur baby(ies) while you are working or traveling and have lots of time and attention to give them while I’m in between shifts! I work early morning to mid afternoon 4 days a week so I’m available for afternoon/evening walks/drop ins, as well as weekends/holidays. I work 4 days per week. When I’m not working my schedule is very flexible so as to provide thorough loving care to your pets. I live in walking distance to lots of great dog parks and am also happy to take your pup for a car ride to hike in a local state park. I also have a comfy couch for naps :) Happy to keep close to your specific pet’s daily routine or give them some extra exercise so they’ll be ready for sleepy cuddles when y’all are reunited.

If more stars were an option, she’d absolutely receive them. Paige was wonderful, punctual and charismatic. She made the time to do a meet and greet to gain the trust of myself and the pets. The photos on each drop in visit were absolutely unexpected. She goes above and beyond! Looking forward to my next trip so that my pets can experience 5 star boarding from the comfort of our home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Essex with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
