About: I’ve always grown up with dogs and cats, so I have lots of experience caring for both. My mom currently has 3 lab mixes and one of them is, unfortunately, getting up there in age and when I visit her, I try to help as much as I can, so I have experience caring for older dogs. I have one dog of my own who is my best friend! He’s a 6 year old black lab with nonstop enthusiasm for walks, chasing squirrels, and sniffing his way through every park in Baltimore City. He is also a fearless rat patroller! We have had him since he was a puppy, so I have been able to get experience training him and learning to work with, and love, all of his quirks, and I’m excited to do the same for your pets! I work a normal 40 hr work week, but am happy to fill in to help with your pet needs. I work from home mostly, so outside of my occasional in office days, I’m available to be with your pets through the day during the week! I am always available on the weekends. I have my own dog and a partner who works occasional odd or long hours, so there are times I will have to head back home to check on my own pup! In my own home, our dog has free range over the house! He rules the place and, unfortunately, doesn’t get along with other dogs, so I’m not able to offer boarding services in my home. While I’m at yours or with your pet, I will treat them like my own - lots of love, occasional treats (as many as are okay with you), and whatever else they may need! I’d love to have detailed instructions on how to care for your pet, so I can make sure they are as comfortable as they can be!

“Gabby took excellent care of my two cats and shared great updates and pictures. She was easy to coordinate with, and handled extra cleaning up after an unexpected pet mess thoroughly.”

“Erica is always on time, sends good updates and photos, plays with our cats and does well with administering our cats inhaler. Couldnt ask for a better sitter!”

About: I’ve had pets and dogs in my family since I was 12. My neighbors growing up always trusted me to dog sit or walk their dogs while they managed their busy schedules. I’ve helped friends and classmates with their pets in my free time during grad school while they traveled or needed to study for exams. I love walking so why not take a furry friend with me! I’m currently working from home and doing freelance work so I have a lot of free time. My schedule is pretty flexible. I can work around your schedule! I will primarily be walking your dog in parks, trails, and neighborhoods with sidewalks to ensure safety. If you have a yard available, even better!
“Paige did a great job taking care of our cat, Dommy! Thanks to Paige, we had the peace of mind to enjoy our vacation. We will definitely reach out again the next time we need a sitter!”

“I’ve requested Imani’s help a few times now with dog walking, house digging, or drop-ins, and she consistently goes above and beyond. She is always such a pleasure to work with and my dogs really love her.”

“Ana did such a wonderful job with my dogs when they had to take medications, had an upset stomach or itching issues. She sent me photos and videos which really lifted my spirits. Ana is very attentive and asks about how you would like things done in your home. I have two small dogs and would recommend her. My two dogs have different personalities and she was great at helping them each at their own pace.”

“Megan was an amazing caretaker of my cat. She was very attentive to detail and her visits provided the comfort my senior cat was longing for while I was away for six nights. I’m looking forward to provide her services whenever I’ll be out of town.”

“Elena was great with my two cats. This was my first time leaving them with someone other than family to take care of them, and I was nervous because one is on an oral medication. Elena let me know each time she visited that the medication was taken and sent picture updates. My one stand-offish cat even warmed up to her and let her pet her, so that itself means a lot. I’ll definitely be hiring Elena in the future!”

“Elizabeth was amazing to work with. Incredibly professional, friendly and responsive. I felt so safe leaving her with my cat Shredder, especially given her background in pet care and veterinary medicine. Thank you so much for your grace and understanding during the past 2 weeks, it truly meant a lot to me. 100% would recommend to anyone in the area seeking pet care.”

“Jenna always arrives on time (or a little early) and takes great care of my large puppy, Pumpkin! Jenna has been taking care of Pumpkin since Pumpkin was ~3 months old and she’s now over 9 months. Jenna is kind, reliable and trustworthy. Highly recommend! PS Jenna is very responsive also. 5 star!”

“Ziair did a fantastic job of checking in on our Bernese Mountain Dog. She was friendly, kept us informed of all the information we needed to know and made us feel good that our dog was well monitored and taken care of while we were away!”

If more stars were an option, she’d absolutely receive them. Paige was wonderful, punctual and charismatic. She made the time to do a meet and greet to gain the trust of myself and the pets. The photos on each drop in visit were absolutely unexpected. She goes above and beyond! Looking forward to my next trip so that my pets can experience 5 star boarding from the comfort of our home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Essex with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
