About: We are a pet-centered family. Fur babies have been at the heart of our home for over 20 years. We've rescued dogs and cats across various stages of life, some with special needs, and loved them well into their senior years. We provide personalized care, tailored to the specific needs of your pet. Whether it's adhering to the dietary requirements of their meals, administering medication, or modifying walks and play to accommodate any physical limitations or developmental needs. We’re conveniently located near 101, making for an easy drop off and pickup. Animals of all types tend to gravitate to me. I'm patient and playful. If they just need a calm presence to cuddle with or a buddy to play fetch and get their zoomies out, I adapt to the needs of your pet. Our home is filled to the brim with a love for pets and their care. My wife leads a community for pet parents and my daughter is a future vet who makes every animal she meets her best friend and desires to rescue as many she can. I'm a retired engineer and my wife works from home. Pets are family and our schedules are adjusted accordingly to ensure they are not alone. I love nature and giving pets the opportunity to relax and play where they feel the most comfortable. We can walk the park grounds right outside our door, relax on the deck, or snuggle on the couch. We can also hop in the Jeep and go exploring if they prefer. Every pet is different and my goal is to always meet them right where they are.
“Jetta always has a great time with Lorri! Lots of stimulation, yummy treats, furry friends, and comfy quarters. Lorri is a great communicator, can't recommend her enough! Thank you!”

About: About our home & pack Hi, we’re Elise and Brad :) … dogs are our kids, and we keep things small so every pup gets real attention. We’re at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Ventura on an ~8,500 sq ft lot with a fully fenced yard --great for zoomies, fetch, and potty breaks. Brad and I own the house and rent bedrooms to long-term roommates — all of whom are working professionals in their thirties who love dogs. One of our roommates works from home and so our adult household means someone responsible is home 24/7, so pups are pretty much never left home alone. Our resident doodles are friendly, well-mannered playmates: • Joey (2yo 15 lb cockapoo): shy, sweet, loves chase games. He’s my soul dog. • Mia (1yo 50 lb goldendoodle): playful, social, and very protective of smaller dogs. She’s got sweet, protective mama energy. Safety & setup • Fully-fenced yard with easy, frequent potty access (sliding door open when we’re home). • We do have a pool, but it’s off-limits unless supervised. A retractable fence blocks access when needed, and there’s a surface alarm as a backup. • Dogs can be separated for meals or decompression anytime; we have plenty of space. Experience, seniors & care style Between Brad and I, we have 32 years of combined dog-owning experience (not counting caring for family pets as kids)… we’re lifelong poodle/doodle people. Brad handles our pups’ grooming at home (baths, trims, nails, ears), so just know we are big dog-people and super attentive. We’re very familiar with caring for dogs of all ages, including seniors who may need assistance. We also have plenty of experience with disabilities; one of our poodles became a tripod due to cancer… and we cherished him even more when that happened. A typical day Morning potty and light play in the fenced yard, breakfast per your schedule. Seniors get shorter, sniffy walks and extra nap time; playful guests get more fetch and yard time. With permission, we add a safe neighborhood walk. Dinner, wind-down, and cozy sleep in our bedroom with us. Dogs are allowed on our furniture if that’s your style also. You’ll get daily photo updates so you’re never guessing. Good fit & requirements Friendly, house-trained dogs with no aggression history. Small–medium pups are our sweet spot; larger gentle dogs considered case-by-case. Seniors are absolutely welcome. Please have rabies vaccine and flea/tick prevention up to date, and bring food, leash/harness, meds, and a familiar bed/blanket. Logistics & options We’re flexible on pickup/drop-off—share your window. Meet & greets welcome. Optional extras upon request: extra neighborhood walk, beach trip to C street, light bath/brush, simple swim lessons (accompanied swim to find the steps and get out) - Morning: breakfast, walk and/or potty in yard, then set up indoors in a comfy area to rest - Mid-day potty break in the yard (our roommate who works from home takes care of!) - ~3p-ish - another roommate comes home so it's time for another potty break, lunch/snack and playtime - 5ish - Brad and I get home so it's playtime, dinner, treats, cuddles, walk or yard potty, and bed Dogs are our kids and we treat them as the treasures that they are. Our yard is fully-fenced in and front door/gate is always closed. We live at the end of a safe cul de sac on the east end of town where the sun usually shines. Pool is off-limits unless we are right there — it’s cordoned off with a retractable fence as needed plus a surface alarm (Bcone) as a backup. We also offer optional "find the steps" swim lessons, if that's of interest. :)
“She was super helpful keeping me updated about my pup, she sent constant updates and photos of him, and the best part is he looked so happy in all the pictures! He was completely worn out from the park and the walks, that by the time I picked him up he just crashed:), shout out Alexandria!”

“Cindy was so great with our two dogs! She sent lots of pictures and updates, and made them feel right at home. One of our dogs is shy around new people, but she opened up quickly to Cindy and was cuddling in her lap by the end of the visit. Her two golden retrievers were also really friendly with our dogs and got along great! Will definitely rebook with Cindy when we’re back in the area ?”

“We are happy to have found Shelli to care for our senior dog Harold. Shelli was very patient and kind with him when we left him for his first visit. He seemed very calm and happy when we picked him up. We feel confident that Harold will be well cared for by Shelli and her family when we leave him to go out of town .”
“Stefanie and Matt were quick to respond to my dog sitting request and were very communicative throughout the process. Additionally, their well-behaved dogs provided my dog, Oso, with a full day of fun. They also sent frequent pictures and videos to keep me updated. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for responsible, caring, and professional dog sitters.”

“We had a trip planned to go to Channel Islands National Park on Monday, but unfortunately the ferry company had to cancel due to weather. I reached out to Bethany, and she was incredibly understanding and flexible, helping us reschedule without any stress. Bethany was friendly, responsive, and so easy to communicate with. We’re traveling from out of the area, and trusting someone with our boy is always a little nerve-wracking — but she immediately put our minds at ease. She and her husband, Clive, took Zeke on an afternoon walk and later to the dog park in the evening, which he absolutely loved. She sent us photos of Zeke and Samba throughout the day, and it was so reassuring (and fun!) to see him happy and having a great time. They’re truly great people, and we wouldn’t hesitate for a second to have them watch our pup again. Thanks again, Bethany & Clive - Zeke loved hanging with Samba all day :)”

“Thankyou Annette for being open to taking care of Benito a few days of notice! You’re amazing in taking care of him! Benito enjoys staying with you and your fur babies because they are playful, fun to be around and overall your love! You’re very communicative and appreciate the updates throughout the day!”

“Kelsey was awesome with our puppy! She kept her busy and our pup was always happy and tired when I picked her up. Our pup was always so excited when she realized we arrived at Kelsey's place. Thank you, Kelsey!”

“We used Rachel for doggie daycare for the first time yesterday, and Mila had such a great time! She was able to hang out with Rachel’s dog, Robin, and her two cats, and it was clear she felt comfortable and happy. Rachel even texted us the cutest pictures of their interactions, which we absolutely loved. Thank you, Rachel, for taking such wonderful care of Mila. We will definitely be using your daycare services again in the near future and look forward to some training sessions as well!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all kinds since for the past 4 years. I stay over night, go on walks, feed, bathe, and have dealt with disabled dogs before. I even have experience with cats whom have needed to be feed and the litter box needed cleaning. My neighbors, family, friends, and even people who I’ve been recommended to have put their trust in me with their pets. The longest time I’ve pet sat was for two weeks and it was with two dogs that needed to take medication 2 times a day. I have even let sat for my neighbor who’s elderly Labrador dog’s two back legs don’t function correctly. I am prepared for anything and everything :) I am a full time student at the University of Southern California Monday-Thursday, but I have times where I don’t have classes. Just message me and majority of the time I will be free! Friday-Sunday I don’t have school and I am usually free the entire day. At home I have a 6 year old male Golden Retriever who needs to be walked and fed multiple times throughout the day. I love to spend time with my dog whether it’s lounging around or going on hikes/to the beach with him. At clients house, I usually tend to check in with the dogs throughout my day, stay overnight at the house, or even board them at my house. I make sure that they’re fed, let out to go potty, and even give them the love/attention they need.
“We were very happy with Hersh and his care for our small dog Sophie. Sophie was calm and relaxed when we picker her up unlike a previous stay at a kennel for small dogs. Hersh sent us a picture of Sophie relaxing on the couch and I could tell she was enjoying herself and was content. Good job. We would definitely use Hersh again if we are traveling in the area.”

About: I can walk the dogs in my neighborhood, i can feed them, bathe them if needed, and give medicine if needed. I love animals i have experience with dogs/cats because i have owned multiple throughout the years and i have volunteered at the Humane society of Ventura county which required me to walk, play, and comfort the dogs. I have taken care all of my family members dogs while they were on vacation and i truly enjoy caring for them. I have grown up rescuing lost dogs and helping them find their way back home. Please feel free to message me with questions you may have i want your pet to feel comfortable and loved when they are in my home! Pet care fits into my routine because i am a stay at home mom so i have time to give your pet all the attention he/she needs. I either crate the pet or let them roam freely in my home! I include walks and take them to the park to run. Unless otherwise requested not to. I follow full instructions the owner provides.
“Milly got along with had a nice long walk with her. Milly had three pictures with Susana, she is close to where we are vacationing and didn’t have a problem when we were a bit late picking her up from her aptly. We left Milly with Susana for about 9 hours for “doggy sitting”. Thanks, Susana.”

“Cheryl was a sensitive, caring dog sitter for our very anxious Bichon named Layla, who has suffered from separation anxiety when we go away. This time with Cheryl taking care of her for 12 hours on thanksgiving, Layla was relaxed and happy while we were gone. Cheryl sent photos of Layla relaxing peacefully in her arms. After we took her home, Layla didn't act up at all. She quietly settled back into her normal routine and slept through the night without any fussing! Great job, Cheryl! Also we had to make a change in when we planned to leave and Cheryl didn't mind accommodating that last-minute change. We plan to use Cheryl again when we need a pet sitter. I recently recommended her to my friend who needed a dog sitter for her doggie.”

El Rio dog parents share their Rover experiences
Rey had a great stay with this wonderful family! They took her in like one of the family and the drop off was easy. We were driving through the area on a trip to visit family and needed a place for Rey so she didn’t have to sit in the car all day, and this worked out perfectly! We will definitely reach out to Richard and Mystique again if we are in the area!

We used Rachel for doggie daycare for the first time yesterday, and Mila had such a great time! She was able to hang out with Rachel’s dog, Robin, and her two cats, and it was clear she felt comfortable and happy. Rachel even texted us the cutest pictures of their interactions, which we absolutely loved. Thank you, Rachel, for taking such wonderful care of Mila. Erika is a GREAT sitter! My little one enjoyed her day, lots of love from Erika and her two adorable fun dogs. Erika has a beautiful home and a very nice yard for the little ones, i can tell she really loves dogs. Thank you Erika, see you again soon i hope! Robert

Leaving our little Cowboy (9 months old) with Sarah felt so easy and comfortable. We had a successful meet and greet with her and her dogs, then made our booking for day care that same week without thinking twice. I really appreciate her timeliness with communication, as well as the fact that she sends photos and updates. She also set up a sweet little gated area for Cowboy in her office—which I’m sure made him feel cozy and safe while she worked—and made it easy for her to keep an eye on him while he chewed on toys and had his snacks. They have a lovely home and backyard. Drop off and pick up were easy, and Cowboy seemed content and ready for a nap on his way home. We highly recommend Sarah!

Marissa is so caring and sweet!! Scarlet had a wonderful time with sitting and we will definitely book again. Thank you, Marissa, for such great communication before, during, and after Scarlet’s care. Coordination was seamless, as well! I absolutely recommend Marissa.
