“We are so grateful to Andrew and Heidi for taking such wonderful care of our dog, Max, while we were away for 10 days. From the moment we dropped him off, we felt confident he was in loving and capable hands. When we picked Max up, it was clear how happy and well-cared-for he had been—he came back his usual cheerful self, relaxed, and clearly loved. It gave us such peace of mind to know he was not only safe but also having a great time. Andrew and Heidi treated Max like part of their family, and we couldn’t have asked for better caregivers. We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for kind, reliable, and attentive dog sitters. We’ll definitely be turning to them again in the future!”

“Alexandra is so sweet. It is the third time that Bruna has stayed with her. When she noticed where she was, she pulled to go to her, waving her tail full of happiness. Alexandra sent us Pictures and videos of Bruna and gave us updates. Bruna will stay with her on our next trip.”

“Dana is the most professional sitter I have met through Rover. I was invited to go for a walk with him and my dog before the booking, during which he demonstrated his knowledge of interpreting canine body language and skill at correcting bad behaviors. I was provided daily video updates on how my dog was doing. When I came to pick my dog up, I was invited to sit and eat a home-cooked meal with Dana’s family. I will definitely look for Dana next time I need a sitter.”

“Paula and her family have provided care for our labradoodle several times over the past couple years. We think of it like doggy camp with daily field trips including fun photos. Our dog loves to go to Paula’s!”

“Su was amazing and so caring with our senior French bulldog, bulldog. He was very attentive to our dog’s needs and communicated on a regular basis about her well being and food and water consumption. We felt like we had a very good idea of how she was doing while we were away on vacation. We are very grateful for his thoughtfulness- they got into a good rhythm and I think Frances really enjoyed her time with Su!”

“Richard had to deal with a lot of moving parts because we booked at the last minute and had family members do the drop off and pick up. My dogs are a little pushy and quirky as well, and he handled everything like a consummate professional. Our pups were exhausted well after coming home, too, which is a great sign. We hope to book with Richard again in the near future.”

“Alec and Damien were perfect hosts for Fran! It was our first time boarding her and everything went super smoothly. Fran was happy and cared for. Would definitely bring Fran to their place again.”

“Tianyue was awesome every step of the way. This was our first time using Rover and we have never left Bailey with anybody before, so we were apprehensive. Tianyue was very sweet and sent lots of videos. We would definitely recommend her to anyone. Thank you Tianyue for everything!”

“Jing has great communication! She was great with my elderly dog and gave her her medicine when needed. My dog looked happy the entire time and was in a great mood afterwards!”

Audrey did a great job with Louie. We had to travel out of state and Louie got sick during his stay. She offered to take him to the vet/ER and had to closely monitor him. It was a super stressful thing to be so far away and not be able to come back to get him, thank you Audrey for taking good care of Louie and keeping me updated on his condition.

Debbie took great care of our dog, Sam recently. She has such a sweet and calm nature that put Sam at ease and she shared pics of Sam so we could see how he was doing. I was really impressed that she even played one of Sam’s favorite games with him, which I know made Sam happy as it did us as well.

Lauren was awesome! She made sure Archie felt comfortable the second he arrived and allowed him time to adjust to his new environment. Her and her family walked Archie, provided lots of attention to him, and he had the added bonus of playing with their dog Ollie. You can tell they really cared for him. Highly recommend.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
