“Casey was amazing with our dogs, Cloe (7) and Luna (12)! It was our first time leaving them with someone outside the family, and she made us feel completely at ease. She even invited us to her home before the stay to help them transition smoothly. We got regular updates during our trip, and when she brought them home, they were clearly happy and well cared for. We’re so thankful and will absolutely book with Casey again!”

“Julie was an incredible host for our 9 month old puppy, Maizy! She was thoughtful and attentive, taking the time to understand Maizy's routine and personality. Maizy had a blast playing with her dog and came home happy and well cared for. We felt at ease knowing she was in such great hands. Highly recommend Julie!”

“Sheila was great with Lila and very communicative! She was not phased at all by Lila’s medication schedule or special instructions for walking :) I would definitely recommend her to take care of your dog!”

About: I am a mom of two and preschool teacher during the school year who also has one 10 year old Westie. We would take care of your dog as if he/she were our own! My husband is retired and would also assist in taking care of the dog. My husband John is retired and is usually home with our 10 yr old westie Bobby. I am in between jobs and home a good amount of the time. We have had two westies for the past 20 years, so we have a lot of dog experience. We have pet sat many dogs and they always enjoy staying here in our home. We have a fenced in area for the dogs with astroturf grass so they can't dig under the fence. The house is a ranch and the dogs would have access to the kitchen, dining room, and living room. My husband would stay with the dogs at nite in the living room so they won't feel alone.we walk twice a day with our dog bobby and we have a great quiet neighborhood to walk in.
“Thank you for taking care of Doodle -she’s not the easiest dog to handle but thank you for being so incredibly responsible, always on time, and cares for her well-being. I highly recommend Steven to anyone looking for a trustworthy and dependable pet sitter!”

Thank you for all your help and for taking such good care of our guy.”

“Our cat seemed to have better time with Bo & Xiaosong than with us, which actually is better than we could ever have hoped! We received photos and videos of Toto during his stay, which was great. We would definitely rebook with them in the future!”

“Pamela was a fantastic caregiver for our dog, Elke. I got regular updates and photos while we were away. She even went the extra mile and replaced a harness that Elke chewed when there was a severe thunder storm! I would highly recommend her!”

“I had a family emergency and had to spend long hours in the hospital and luckily Debbie was available very last minute. She provided great care for Tiggy! She updated me multiple times daily with photos which helped and was appreciated. She was easy to communicate with, friendly and her dogs are adorable and got along well with mine. I’ve already asked about future dates and will definitely use her again. She also invited me into her home so I could see where Tiggy would be spending her time and that was great for my peace of mind.”

“Gina was great! Winston seemed to love her and she was super helpful taking him last second! Would definitely consider using again and would recommend to others!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Dover
We had a great experience with Alex. He cares deeply for the dogs he cares for. Smudge had an amazing time. He’s been snoozing since he’s been home. Alex provided a very welcoming experience during the meet and greet. I felt comfortable very quickly to leave our dog in his care. Will definitely rebook.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
