“Cathy took great care of my cats! She was amazing with them. They immediately felt comfortable with her which doesn’t always happen with my cats. I will definitely be rebooking with her in the future. 100% recommend!”

“Amy is wonderful! She did drop in visits for my two dogs while I was on vacation for 2 weeks. I could tell my dogs liked having her around from the daily updates and photos. I highly recommend her as a sitter and will definitely be requesting her pet services in the future!”

About: Hi! I’m Eliza, I recently finished grad school at VCU and am doing some freelance creative work currently, so I have a very flexible and available schedule to help with your pets! I've loved animals my whole life and have grown up with dogs. When I was younger, I helped raise and train one of our dogs from puppyhood, where I learned how to care for a dog's daily needs. Four years ago, I adopted my first cat, and caring for her has given me plenty of experience with feline care as well. Whether it's walking dogs, dropping in for feedings, playing with energetic pets, scooping litter and refreshing water, or just keeping pets company, I'll care for your animals as if they were my own. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, and I'm happy to adapt to whatever helps them feel comfortable and cared for. I am post grad school and currently doing freelance work from home, so my schedule is pretty flexible! I am very free in the afternoons typically. I will take extreme care in caution when in people’s homes. As someone who has used this as well for my own cat, I understand the fear with letting people in your home. I can assure you I will treat your home with the same respect I would want my own.
“Alexandra (Lexi) was AMAZING. The dogs fell in love with her right away and she was such an overall joy to interact with. She was very communicative, flexible, and super caring. Could not recommend her more for your pups!”

“Alyssa was a great pet sitter! She took care of my indoor cat for two weeks. She met him beforehand and he warmed up to her quickly. She listened to and followed all instructions. Alyssa was also very easy to work with and responsive to messages. She shared great pictures of him daily, which we really appreciated. She played with him, brushed him, and feed him (and cleaned up one spit up). She clearly has a great connection to pets and I highly recommend her.”

“Meghan was great with my cats. Even Beans, who hides from everyone but me, found himself rolling over for belly rubs from Meghan. Highly recommend her and would definitely request her services again!”

“You are not going to find a better dog sitter/walker than Amanda. The boys absolutely adore her and she is sooo good with them. She is incredibly flexible and accommodating of my chaotic life when it comes to scheduling. In fact, she has saved my butt on multiple occasions. Additionally, she proactively goes above and beyond. During this most recent visit, I warned her that I had run out of poop bags so she needed to watch her step. Amanda, being the caring puppy sitter that she is, surveyed the whole yard and picked up all of the stray puppy piles. I dare you to find another pet sitter willing to do that! Anyways, she's great!”

“Laura was wonderful! It was my first time using Rover so I was a little nervous, but Laura made me feel super comfortable! She sent so many cute pictures/videos of my kitty Poe, gave me updates, and I always felt like I could reach out to her to check in. Highly recommend Laura! :)”

“Korri was awesome! She did drop in visits for our two cats while we were gone and she sent pictures daily. The cats really seemed to warm up to her so that relieving. She was super responsive and really made me feel comfortable from the beginning. I will definitely use her in the future and I highly recommend.”

“Maggie took such great care of my kittens while I was away! The transparent communication--pictures, updates, videos, etc. was FABULOUS! They were in great hands with her! AND I would very much recommend to anyone in the area looking for the same level of care!”

“Sidney is great! Super friendly and not bothered by my wacky dogs and their little issues. She arrived right on time and sent cute pics! Will definitely book with her again.”
“Grace was awesome! She was so helpful with toby, always sending me picture updates of her drop in with Toby. I will definitely be reaching out to her again with any help I need with Toby:-)”

“My kitty kimchi was so happy to have someone come by while I was out of town. She played with her, gave her treats, and sent me some cute snapshots. Would recommend to anyone looking to have their animal cared for.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Dumbarton
Lee was great. Close by, flexible and great with Gizzy from what I could tell. Hoping he was able to experience how sweet and special my beloved boy Gizzy is. I appreciate the pics and updates. Lee threw out his back over that weekend and he still came through, which I appreciate. Give him a shout

Harlee is a fantastic pet sitter! She watched our two cats for 10 days. She came twice a day to administer medication for our senior cat and was always great about arriving on time and sending photo updates. Her care for our cats brought us a lot of peace of mind while we were on vacation. She even watered my bonsai plant (thank you!). We wouldn't hesitate to book Harlee again!

Kaleigh was so great! She was super reliable, had great communication and took great care of our cat, Otis, while we were away. She went above and beyond on several things and is someone you can trust. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone and would definitely rebook with her again!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Dumbarton. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
