“Mark was very good with Poppy, my 9 year old cat. This was the longest I’ve gone off and I’m sure she wasn’t thrilled. But Mark gave her attention and care. I will have him watch my cat again.”

“Lee seemed like he really enjoyed our young cat Oslo’s playful and confident attitude, and Oslo really liked having a new friend to visit him. We felt much better knowing Lee would be there to drop in and check on him over the weekend. Oslo was a happy kitty when we returned. Thank you Lee!”

“We had an excellent experience with Sydney! care of our cats while we were on vacation. She was reliable, communicative, and took wonderful care of our cats while we were on vacation. We received regular updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that our cats were well cared for and comfortable. We highly recommend Sydney to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter, and we’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

“Ruby loves Allison! We appreciate her prompt communication and attention to detail. She brings in my packages, searches for missing treasure Ruby has buried in the yard. Highly recommend!”

“Taylor is amazing! We’ve trusted her multiple times to watch our dogs, and she truly cares about their wellbeing. Having Taylor as our pet sitter provides peace of mind when we are out of town. She’s the best!”

“Margaret went above and beyond when caring for River. My smoke detector was going out due to an apparent dead battery or something and she made every effort to help the situation. Her communication was great and I felt very comfortable knowing that my cat was in her hands ! Thank you Margaret.”

About: I've been dog-walking and cat sitting since I was about 13-14 years old! I've cared for a range of dogs and cats, from young to old, and everything in between. I also have lots of experience with big dogs in particular. My family has had labs since I can remember, and I've cared for and walked two big dogs at the same time. I currently work from home, and usually have a pretty flexible schedule most days a week, so I'd be happy to fit your pet into my schedule! I do occasionally have a public involvement meeting that requires me to be elsewhere during the day, but happy to plan far in advance with you to make sure your pet's care needs are met. I provide a safe environment by making sure your pet is in a place they know best - their and your home. I find that pets who are in their own space are the most comfortable. I also have experience with needing to provide pills to cats, and can crate trained pups.

“Carolyn did an excellent job taking care of my two cats, and followed instructions perfectly. She even left a light on for me when I returned home late tonight, which was a pleasant surprise!! Would definitely recommend!!”

“Shelby was great! She was available last minute to stop by to feed our cat, and was very professional and had great communication! Highly recommend and will be using her in the future.”

About: I’ve been an avid animal lover my entire life. My family has always had at least 2 pets at any given time and in the past 4 years we have fostered close to 80 pups! I’m currently working towards my CCTBS certification (certified canine training and behavior specialist). I’ve worked at dog daycares as well as the SPCA. During this time, I cared for dogs and cats from all walks of life. I befriended anxious pets who feared humans and gained acceptance from those who show aggression. I have experience with puppies/kittens, seniors, special needs, and more! I specialize in caring for the pets who are a bit more on the nervous side as I am very patient and attentive to detail. That being said, I love a good happy go lucky pet as well! I am also qualified to administer medications, even injectables. Whether it’s a little check in or a long walk, I’m here to help! I work 7am to anywhere between 11am and 3pm, leaving me enough flexibility to care for your pets scheduled needs! My days off vary each week with weekends being mandatory. On my days off, I’m able to provide more flexibility for extended visits and one on one time with your furry friends, just reach out and I’ll let you know what my off days are for the week! If you’re looking for recurring walks or sitting we can discuss that further so I can adjust my schedule accordingly! Your pets will be treated like one of my own, pampered and spoiled! I will follow any guidelines or routines you have in place. If your pet knows any tricks or manners to practice, I’m more than happy to implement those! In each and every visit, I like to take the time to give the animal and the home a once over to make sure everything looks good and safe before I leave.
“Shannon has been fantastic! She is very detailed with her care of our dog Hobbes. She has always been there when we need her and done a great job! I never have to worry if she will be there when she says she will. If you are searching for a great dog walker I can say your search is over because you found her!”

“My Louie can be a bit of a challenge… and Esther was great with him! She was patient while he warmed up to her, sending me photos and information along the way. He actually looked like he was smiling! I came home to a happy, healthy pup. Thank you, Esther! We can’t wait to use you again!”

About: I worked at an animal hospital as a kennel assistant while in high school. I would walk pets, feed them, and play with them. I then moved on to become a veterinary assistant throughout my four years at college. I have lived with animals my whole life. I now currently work from home. I have a five-year-old female German Shepard, a two year old Pointer Lab, and a twelve year old cat. My GS, Tsuki, is a sweetheart who loves to always be by her mom's side and loves her walks. My pointer lab, Chance, is the most distinguished gentleman that just loves to play and constantly learning new commands. Chance and Tsuki have one sisters, Mila (12 years old). Mila loves her space. I feel like working with animals in a clinic and having my own has been a rewarding experience to learn more about animals and how each one has its own dislikes and likes. I have a very flexible employment, that sometimes I am able to work from home. I am happy to check on the fur baby as often as you would prefer and send you all the pictures! I have a fenced backyard for those dogs that love to be running around outside. If I am coming to your house, then I love taking walks and if you prefer, I would love to take them to the dog park. You let me know what you would allow/prefer for the care of your pet, and I will do just that!
About: I love dogs as I’ve had many throughout my childhood and adulthood. My family has always been a big pet family and so I completely understand the love and attention pets need and deserve. After all, they are an important part of our lives! I am currently a senior in college, and while I wished I had a pet, I do not have one yet. Back home I have a dog and caring for her is a daily activity that I love to do. I know pets are caring, sensitive beings and need lots of attention and love! In my house, I help with feeding, walking, playing, and overall petting and loving on our dog. I love to walk my dog at home and play with her using her favorite toys. I can bring these skills to help care for your pet as well.

I couldn't have asked for a better sitter than Cate! She was genuinely concerned about all three cats' routines, behaviours and personalities, and made a point of addressing these, as well as the care routines (food, water, litter, love). If she's available, I'll certainly entrust her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
