I've been crazy about animals ever since I was a kid. For over 2 decades I have provided in-home house sitting, boarding, daycare, drop-ins, and walking services for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages from a 4 month-old Husky to a 16 year-old Chihuahua. I have also cared for all kinds of cats- big and small, young and senior, outgoing and shy- you name it! In college, I adopted the sweetest Shiba mix, Sheva, and had her for 12 wonderful years. She passed away in 2023 at the age of 15.5 and I miss her dearly. I currently have no pets of my own so I have a lot of backlogged love to give to every critter I come across (warm and cold-blooded)! Having had my own senior pup, I also understand the importance of being attentive to the needs of an older pet and am comfortable administering medication. I am detail-oriented, a frequent communicator with updates and photos, and am respectful of other people's homes. If I'm staying in your home, I'm known to leave homes cleaner than when I arrived!

I work from home (can be from my home or yours!) so I will have a flexible schedule during the day to hang out with your pup. My home is very spacious with lots room both indoors and outdoors to roam and play! Scuffles and mischievousness happen. To prevent this on the occasion that I have to step out, I have secured gates in my home to separate pets and keep them comfy in their own spaces until I return. I'm more than happy to have your pup sleep in my bedroom, a different room, or in their crate- however you and they prefer :)

Alethea is amazing! We are truly so grateful to have had her dog sit for us (twice now!). My senior dog, who has both vision and hearing issues can be very nervous with new people. He adores Alethea and follows her around everywhere when she's here. She is a fantastic communicator, sends pictures and updates often and clearly cares so much for the animals she cares for. Not only that but she does an amazing job taking care of our home too. She cleans, takes care of my dogs linens, takes care of bedding, watered plants and even handled a series of unfortunate events due to a storm incredibly well. Navigating those issues from out of the country was stressful but I am so grateful to Alethea for being so incredibly helpful and considerate during the process. Truly not sure what we would have done without her. We really can't recommend Alethea enough to anyone looking for a sitter.

Alethea was so easy to work with and went above and beyond our expectations. Her daily photos and updates made us feel confident that our pups were in good hands and getting all of the love and attention they need. I would highly recommend her! We have already booked her for future house and pets-sitting needs.
Alethea is very detail oriented and asked a lot of good questions as I prepared to leave my dog for the week with her. My dog was not anxious at all when I returned and seemed to be well cared for and loved while I was gone. I received photos and text updates daily and could not feel better about leaving my dog with her.

Schedule
As a freelancer, I have a lot of down time in between jobs where I'm at home- which gives me plenty of time to hang out with and care for your pup! While I can be a homebody, I'm also active in my personal life and love being outside- especially to go hiking. I'm more than happy to either hang out at home or take your dog on an adventure or two if that fit's his/her lifestyle. Either way, I can't wait to meet you and your dog!
