“I didn’t see any problems and “ my boys” seemed fine when I returned. Extra points for promptness ( early even!! ) upon our meeting & asking clarifying questions. I will be hiring Cathy Jo in the future!”

About: Hello! I've been working with dogs professionally for 3 years. I also work at Ruff Canine Club in Scott's Addition as a "rufferee"! I'm very interested in dog behavior so I've learned a lot over the years about handling all sizes, levels of reactivity and unique quirks. Can't forget about CATS! I love them too :) I am comfortable administering medication, vet visits, walks, yard play, managing multi pet households, puppies and seniors. I am currently working part time and have a very flexible schedule. I have a car so I can easy transport to and from homes. Unfortunately, with where I am living, I am unable to board pets at my residence. I provide in home sitting through my personal business and do not offer it through Rover (only walks and drop ins).
“Eddie was a real life saver ! I contacted him on very short notice and he was able to make it work ! Excellent communication and always sent pictures as well!! 10/10 recommend”

“Alyssa was a great pet sitter! She took care of my indoor cat for two weeks. She met him beforehand and he warmed up to her quickly. She listened to and followed all instructions. Alyssa was also very easy to work with and responsive to messages. She shared great pictures of him daily, which we really appreciated. She played with him, brushed him, and feed him (and cleaned up one spit up). She clearly has a great connection to pets and I highly recommend her.”

“Taylor is amazing! We’ve trusted her multiple times to watch our dogs, and she truly cares about their wellbeing. Having Taylor as our pet sitter provides peace of mind when we are out of town. She’s the best!”

“Mya is fantastic! She came over for a meet and greet before her first drop in visit and was so sweet with my animals. She asked great questions, was tuned in to instructions, and I quickly felt like I could trust her with my pets!”

“Devinder takes great care of my cat Theo, who can be a bit sassy and territorial, especially when it comes to his personal space. I’d definitely recommend Devinder to anyone with a quirky or particular pet - he handles them with care!”

“Steven is a rockstar!! He is trustworthy and flexible. He also was so helpful in letting us know that our back up sump pump battery was beeping due to a power outage. We were quickly able to get someone over to assist. Had we not known this, the rain could have led to a flood in our basement. Steven is more than a dog sitter!! So very helpful and we’re grateful to have him help us when we need him! Book him NOW!! Don’t hesitate!! do it.”

“Amy is very reliable and responsive. She sends daily updates and photos which gave me so much peace in mind knowing my cat was in good hands. I highly recommend her and would book her again.”

“Beck does lunchtime drop-ins for our 2 dogs and she’s been wonderful! Very communicative and flexible. She consistently gives us updates on how the dogs are doing that day, as well as some amazing action shots from their play session. Even our extremely anxious pup is warming up to her!”

“Meghan was great for drop-ins for our cats and guinea pigs while we were away for a week. Left photos, messages, the house was clean, everything you would expect. Would definitely recommend!”

“AMY IS AWESOME. As our first experience with using Rover she made us feel completely comfortable with the entire thing. She even came in for a visit beforehand just to make sure that my pups needs were met. She really loves dogs too. Like really loves dogs. Book Amy to take care of your dogs and you can rest at ease.”
“Krista always does a great job taking care of my shy cat and making her feel comfortable around her. She takes her time with Callie and does everything I have asked with feeding, etc.”

“Chrissie has been absolutely amazing with my dog! She sends thorough descriptions of her visits, takes the best photos, and lets me know of any concerns promptly and efficiently! When Chrissie is with my dog, I know she is in the best hands! Chrissie is extremely reliable and trustworthy. We will continue to book with her :)”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Chamberlayne
For our first time having cats, and leaving them overnight, we couldn’t have picked a better sitter than Erin!! She was flexible, helpful, brought our babies cool toys for stimulation, kept them fed, watered, and took care of the litter daily. She was on time and gave them the attention they needed and always sent me photos and videos. She even went as far as filling the dishwasher and taking care of our trash pickup! And she didn’t hate us for accidentally leaving the alarm on a couple times (oops!). Thank you again for caring for our sweet fur babies Erin!!

Isabella was amazing! She was great at keeping informed not only about my fur baby but to what was happening at my home. She cared for my baby just like I would have. I was very comfortable with leaving her in charge of my baby. Would bring her back every time!

Ally was amazing we will definitely be booking with her again. She was extremely fast to respond to each message I sent, super friendly when we did our meet and greet, and exactly on time for each visit. She sent lots of pics and updates, and even went above and beyond to bring in our packages for us. Our shy kitty Nelly warmed up to her right away which made me feel so comfortable that he is in good hands! She did a great job administering his medication.

This was our first time using Cole as our dog walker, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was kind, reliable, and took wonderful care of our doggos. We will definitely be using her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great dog sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chamberlayne. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
