I worked as a kennel attendant and veterinary assistant at an animal hospital in Roanoke for two years while attending Virginia Tech. During college—before Rover was around—I ran a successful personal pet sitting business through Craigslist. I spent a year in veterinary school in the Caribbean before deciding to pursue a career path that offered more flexibility (and less debt!). I’ve ridden and cared for horses for many years, so my experience extends to large, small, and even exotic animals. Fun fact: my pet bunny lived to be 13 years old!

I have two friendly dogs of my own who absolutely love being around other pets! They’re both young (ages 2 and 2.5), very well-socialized, and go to Ruff Canine Club several times a week to play and burn off energy. They love treats, car rides, and snuggling in bed with us. 😃 My first golden retriever was even Canine Good Citizen certified! 🤩
