“Isabella took great care of my dogs. They are older and a bit nervous with new people. Not only did she feed them and let them out, she also spent some time hanging out with them. I would definitely recommend her without hesitation.”

“Randi went above and beyond to make sure our animals were taken care of. She even voluntarily took home a chick that could not walk and fixed it's leg so it can get around on its own now. She also watered our plants and brought in mail while we were gone. She seems to know a lot about dogs and is a wealth of info on chickens, as well. Some of my chickens were not doing so well and thanks to her advice, they are looking healthier. I'd highly recommend her.”

“Lynn was absolutely incredible with both of our dogs! She was very patient during our meet and greet, learning the ins and outs of a special diet for the corgi and understanding the energy levels of our pittie. She was super flexible in meeting with us, stopping over, and extremely communicative! We look forward to booking her again!!”

“Cathy is THE BEST! We have loved how well she’s cared for our golden retriever puppy. She takes amazing care of him and is so responsive! We will be rebooking for a long time!!”

“Haven dropped in on our dog and cat while we were out of town and it was a great experience. This was our first time using Rover instead of taking them to a boarding facility and I think it was much less stressful for our girls to be in their own home environment. We appreciated the updates and photos provided throughout, and our pup in particular definitely seemed to enjoy the extra belly rubs and attention. We would absolutely book with Haven again in the future if needed. Thanks again! ?”

“Allyson was such a wonderful sitter for our kitty! Her messages always made me smile and I could tell how much our little boy loved her from all of the pictures she took the time to send 🙂 Thank you Allyson!”

“Shannon came at requested times, sent pictures and noted how the cats were doing. Appreciated that she sat down and gave Houdini time to relax and come to her. Would use again.”

“Laura was great. It was comforting knowing she was here to check on our puppy while we were gone. She was very punctual which was important for our puppy who isn’t quite house trained. We highly recommend Laura.”

“Steven is a rockstar!! He is trustworthy and flexible. He also was so helpful in letting us know that our back up sump pump battery was beeping due to a power outage. We were quickly able to get someone over to assist. Had we not known this, the rain could have led to a flood in our basement. Steven is more than a dog sitter!! So very helpful and we’re grateful to have him help us when we need him! Book him NOW!! Don’t hesitate!! do it.”

About: Not only have I owned and cared for dogs and cats my entire life, I've also fostered at the Richmond SPCA, RACC, and Sanctuary Rescue for a cumulative 13+ years. I'm highly experienced in animal behavior, nutrition, and medical needs. I do know animal CPR and I have no issue administering meds. I love animals and I am extremely familiar with their behavior. Please contact me to care for your pets so you can be stress free! I work from home which allows me to make my own hours and I can drop in any time past 9am. I am also used to pets with medical issues and can come over whenever needed to issue medicine. I keep a tidy house with many rescue cats and dogs. We have numerous litter boxes that are scooped or cleaned daily. People who come to my house are always shocked that I have cats. My dogs are kept as part of the family and have a large back yard to run around in.
About: Hi, I'm Jackie! I've had animal companions for just about my whole life, and dogs and cats have always held a special place in my heart. So whatever your pet's personality, chances are I've cared for one just like them. I have hands-on experience raising and training puppies, and I'm comfortable administering medication. I take pet care seriously, and I treat every animal like one of my own. Your loved one will be in good hands with me! I have a very flexible schedule so I'm able to visit your pet when they need it the most. I like to walk dogs first thing in the morning so they are relaxed. For cats, I'll play with them either before or after their food depending on their mood. I love to start out the mornings with a walk for dogs and then feeding. For cats, I’ll usually feed then wait and play unless the cat has a lot of energy beforehand.
“Elizabeth is fantastic! Clio requires special care, and Elizabeth was super communicative and comprehensive in our upfront prep, and was great during her drop-in visit to make sure everything went smoothly for Clio. She was attentive to our fur baby's needs, and Clio seemed to have a great time hanging with her! We will definitely be working with Elizabeth again!”

Allyson is a repeat catsitter for me! We had her first for our wedding and we recently rebooked her again for a family beach trip, and I was so happy she was available! She took a lot of photos, and we loved getting our daily report cards which were always thorough and sweet to read! Both of my cats seemed to remember her from last time which made us happy, and she did a great job taking care of them and keeping the litter box clean. I would (once again) highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter!

This was the first time using Rover and Julia for my cats and chickens while having to be at a family function in the midwest. Everything on the homefront went smoothly and Julia provided me with peace of mind tending to my fur babies . I will definitely be using her services again!

Tiffany is an absolute superstar! We were leaving our little princess Ms Lizzz home alone for the first time since we got her and Tiffany was an absolute godsend. She was engaging, attentive and playful. I think Ms Lizzz will miss her visits now that we’re back home. Highly recommend Tiffany if you want peace of mind with your four-legged family while you’re away!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Blue Star Estates. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
