“Absolutely amazing! Her communication was excellent from start to finish, and she kept me updated with plenty of pictures and videos, which I really appreciated. She truly went above and beyond by making an extra trip to ensure my dog was well taken care of, and that meant so much to me. During the heat wave, she was also very mindful of protecting his paws and making sure he stayed safe and comfortable. It was clear she cared for him like he was her own, and my dog absolutely loved her. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such great hands, and I would trust her with him again without hesitation. I highly recommend her!”

“Eddie was absolutely amazing, he came at such short notice and played and took care of our pup! He was great with communication and also sent pictures! We couldn’t have asked for a better first time experience here and we will definitely be booking him again!”

About: I’ve personally have two dogs and one cat, but taken care of many more. Puppies, potty accidents, senior dogs, grouchy cats. I love them all! Looking to gain more professional experience with different animal personalities. I am a former dog foster for the Richmond SPCA and Beagles & Bentleys. My availability is mostly open during the week, and fully open on the weekends. I will work any day of the week but would prefer advance request for weekend. My home has already been made pet friendly and has the space to accommodate 1-2 more pets (depending on size) as I do have two of my own. I like to get a sense of how the pet feels about his / my home to establish their level of comfortability and trust.
“Krista is a rockstar - she's incredibly reliable, flexible, and very easy to work with. She took great care of my dogs and I could not recommend her strongly enough to anyone seeking out assistance. I was very lucky to find her!”
“Chynna took great care of my Junie while I was away. She followed all instructions, sent me lots of photos, and kept me informed on how Junie was doing on their walks. I will definitely be using Chynna again for any dog sitting needs!”

About: I am a grad student with a very flexible schedule! I have owned and cared for a range of dog breeds, from cocker spaniels to German shepherds. I even had a Great Dane for several years! No mess is too big! I’ve administered medications and love getting outdoors and would love to walk or drop into your pet! I adore cats and I have an American bobtail cat called Atlas 🐈⬛ Don’t have a dog or cat? ! I’ve cared for fish, ducks, pigeons, degus, a parrot and a flying squirrel! My daily routine is incredibly flexible as I am currently working on my PhD! I pick my hours and I can work around any pet sitting/walking needs! I am a gentle person who loves to give pets and go for walks and (if willing) give belly rubs! I look after a very content male cat daily (who follows me around the house).
“Shelby walked my dog daily for over a week while I was unable. She was always on time, responsible, friendly to my dog, and communicative. I recommend her as a dog walker.”

“Rachel was excellent! She was very responsive, kind, reliable, and went out of her way to make sure my doggie felt loved and had fun on her walks! Will absolutely use her again in the future”

“Lauren has been absolutely amazing. From our meet up, we knew she would perfect for us. Lauren is very professional, courteous, and really down to earth. Ace has really warmed up to her. We can't thank her enough.”

“I knew from the first meet and greet with Isabella that Ziggy would be in great hands. She sent updates and pics after each visit. I feel at ease leaving our Ziggy in Isabella's care and will definitely be using her again.”

“Alyssa was a great find on Rover. She lives within walking distance and has developed such great rapport with my pets. Please consider Alyssa for your pets needs!”

About: I’ve always had an animal in my home and have helped take care of them. I walked neighbors dogs in my starting in middle school. I love to foster animals when I get the chance helping them find there future home that fits them! Pet care falls naturally into my schedule because I am currently on summer break not working another job. I have plenty of time to provide reliable care throughout the day. Every pet deserves to feel safe and comfortable while there owner is away. I will closely look at the information provided of the pet to insure I understand them and there routine.
“I have an anxious rescue (Sir Kitt) and Kirby has been absolutely wonderful with her! When we started, Kitt had to be coaxed to walk. She was so scared of everyone. Recently, Kitt has come out of her chill spot when she hears Kirby come in! Kirby is wonderful with her and we will be booking again.”

“Nevaeh walks my dogs once a day and it is such a retro know that she is there for them while I am at work. She is an absolute sweetheart and even my more stand offish dogs loves her. Could not recommend met more!”

About: Howdy! I’m Lucas. I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember, and caring for animals has always come really naturally to me. I have over 10 years of hands-on experience with pets of all kinds, from dogs and cats to small animals and even horses, and I’ve also spent time working on a farm. I’m comfortable with pretty much every stage of pet care, whether that means keeping up with an energetic puppy, giving a senior pet a little extra patience, administering medication, or sticking closely to a specific routine. I know how important it is to have someone you genuinely trust looking after your pets and your home, so I take that responsibility seriously. I have a small dog of my own, Paisley, so I also understand firsthand how much peace of mind it gives you to know your pet is safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. I’m very attentive, communicative, and happy to send plenty of updates and photos along the way. More than anything, I want your pets to feel like they’re getting time with someone who actually enjoys being there with them. Whether that means long walks, playtime, couch cuddles, or just keeping them company, I’m happy to meet them where they’re at and make their time away from you as comfortable and stress-free as possible. I work as a creative director, and most of my work is currently remote, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to spend with the pets in my care. Aside from the occasional shoot or in-person meeting, I’m usually working from home and can easily accommodate walks, playtime, feeding schedules, medication, and lots of attention throughout the day. I have a dog of my own, Paisley, so I know firsthand how important it is to feel completely comfortable with the person caring for your pet. I always take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, boundaries, and any specific instructions you have for their care. I’m respectful of your home, attentive to things like doors, gates, leashes, medications, and feeding schedules, and I’ll always keep you updated while you’re away. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for.
“Amy to the rescue! Our normal dog walker was suddenly hospitalized and we were able to book Amy on short notice (less than 24 hours). We are so glad we did! She came over to meet our pup and had a few questions for us. She was very responsive and sent a little recap of the walk, the walk details, and amazing pictures. Would definitely recommend!”

We absolutely adore Geri! From day one, she’s been incredible with our furry kids, and we couldn’t ask for a better dog walker and pet sitter. Our pups always come back happy, well-exercised, and clearly loved. But the real miracle? Winning over our resident diva, Gigi! 😂 Gigi believes every interaction should begin with a few minutes of dramatic protests and attitude (she likes to keep everyone humble), but Geri never skips a beat. With so much patience, kindness, and consistency, she has completely won Gigi’s heart. Watching our little diva go from “Absolutely not!” to “Oh, it’s YOU!” has been nothing short of amazing. One of our favorite parts of the day is receiving the adorable photos Geri sends during their walks. They always brighten our day and reassure us that our furry kids are having the best time. You can genuinely see how happy, comfortable, and cared for they are. Geri is dependable, communicative, and truly treats our pets like family. It’s rare to find someone who not only provides exceptional care but also builds such a special bond with your animals. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her and recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone who will love and care for their pets as if they were her own. Thank you, Geri, for taking such wonderful care of our furry family—and for somehow convincing our little diva that you’re actually one of her favorite humans! ❤️🐾

Steven has helped us a few times now. He is always extremely responsive, responsible and the dogs love him! (The cats don't talk as much but I'm pretty sure they think he's fine.) We are so grateful to have Steven to help us. He took our oldest dog out for a walk by herself and then came back and got the other, more rambunctious ones!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
