“This was the first time I have ever used this app/service and Taylor was absolutely amazing and quick to respond (which was amazing as my request was same day). She was so patient and gentle with my dog as he can be very wary/scared of strangers, but she did a great job of giving him time to warm up to her! I could tell he was absolutely ready for a nap after the walk.”

About: Hello! I've been working with dogs professionally for 3 years. I also work at Ruff Canine Club in Scott's Addition as a "rufferee"! I'm very interested in dog behavior so I've learned a lot over the years about handling all sizes, levels of reactivity and unique quirks. Can't forget about CATS! I love them too :) I am comfortable administering medication, vet visits, walks, yard play, managing multi pet households, puppies and seniors. I am currently working part time and have a very flexible schedule. I have a car so I can easy transport to and from homes. Unfortunately, with where I am living, I am unable to board pets at my residence. I provide in home sitting through my personal business and do not offer it through Rover (only walks and drop ins).

About: Hi! I recently moved to Richmond and am excited to meet some new furry friends! I grew up with a Cockapoo who was a huge part of my life and recently passed away from old age. He had diabetes, so I got firsthand experience caring for a dog who truly depended on his humans. I love spending time with dogs, playing with them, and even teaching them tricks—I taught my dog how to roll over! I’ll treat your dog with the same care, attention, and love I would want for my own. I currently work in Ashland 8-5, M-F. Depending on where it’s at, I can be there during lunch break quick, and also in the evenings after work! Weekends are usually pretty wide open for me. I am flexible! I have a 1bd room apartment so it is easy to keep an eye on the pup and give them loving while you are gone! As well as open patches off grass, walking trails, and parks nearby.
About: All my life, I have helped animals in trouble or strays, turning them into truly loved and cared for pets. I spent most of my life living on a farm, volunteered for two years at an animal shelter which I still support financially My husband and I take care of the furry friends, He work from home and I work in the mornings, weekends we are in home but some we travel so we prefer to you book in 2-3 days in advance I have a spacious two-bedroom apartment with a balcony covered in artificial grass. Within my complex, there’s a pet play area and plenty of space for walks by the lake—always on a leash. There’s also a flat wooded area with natural grass for pets to enjoy
“Very flexible in scheduling visits, a very nice and friendly personality, took detailed notes on his visits, and was very loving and friendly to my dog. He is the first person I go to if I need someone to check in on my dog.”

“We have used Collette multiple times now and she has been a terrific help, always responds on time and is reasonably priced which is much appreciated. I would definitely recommend:)”

About: I love animals, and have been a pet lover/ owner for the past 7 years! I’m comfortable around dogs and cats, and am dedicated to learning how to best care for your pets. When I come to care for your dogs, I am fully present with your animals as they deserve all the love and attention; so no phones while sitting or walking them unless to snap a quick photo to send to you! I am currently available during mornings and afternoons for drop ins, walks, house sittings when needed! I am flexible to what fits the best for your schedule and your pet(s). I’m currently available full time and flexible to drop in when it’s best for your pets! I’m most available during the mornings and afternoons any day of the week. I will always follow your guidelines, communicate to provide general updates with photos and brief summary of the visit. Will always do my best to protect and care for them as if they are my own.
About: Took a break from Rover for a few years but am now back and excited to help care for your pets! I have grown up with dogs my whole life and love caring for them. I had an 18 year old Dachshund and currently have a 13 year old lab mix, so I am used to caring for adult-senior dogs and am knowledgeable on giving medications. I work from home right now so I have flexibility. I will treat your dog as if it’s my own, lots of love, treats, and belly rubs! I can’t wait to meet you and your dog! Please reach out if you have any questions. I currently work from home during the week so I am flexible on the time and length of drop in visits and mid day walks! I can easily adapt to the care that your fur baby is used to receiving from you! I know all dogs have their own special set of instructions and will follow them to the letter.
“Mandy was phenomenal and I know that Mickey enjoyed every minute of his time with her to the fullest extent of his heart!! She exhibits so much care and I'll definitely be continuing with her services, much to Mickey's delight!”

About: I am an over the top dog mom of three that just moved back to Richmond from Florida. I have two rescue dogs, a labradoodle, and a cat. All three different dog breeds, ages, backgrounds, and temperaments. I was born into a dog family, so being taught to care for dogs is in my DNA. I’ve been volunteering in rescue since I was a teenager. Your pet will receive the same over the top crazy dog mom care that my own pets get! They’ll always be safe with me. I own my own small massage business, so I have a very flexible work schedule. I have long breaks and plenty of time to pop in and spend time with your furry friends! I will follow all instructions to a T and I will double check everything. I am a very good read on dog behavior and will never make your dog uncomfortable. I have a very calming presence as I have four animals of my own and it comes very naturally to me.
“Amanda has been a lifesaver walking my fur baby 1-2 walks/day for 2 weeks now. She goes above and beyond to give my anxious-when-alone-pup so much love and attention while I am working long shifts. She gives great updates on how he is doing, and is so thoughtful and attuned to what he needs. Every night I come home to a happy and not anxious pup, which is such a comfort! So thankful my furbabe and I found her when we are new in town!”

“Amy to the rescue! Our normal dog walker was suddenly hospitalized and we were able to book Amy on short notice (less than 24 hours). We are so glad we did! She came over to meet our pup and had a few questions for us. She was very responsive and sent a little recap of the walk, the walk details, and amazing pictures. Would definitely recommend!”

About: Hi! I’m Casey — a stay-at-home mom who would love to spend a little more of my free time loving on some adorable pups! 🐶 I’m available for dog walks and drop-in visits, whether you’re looking for someone on a regular, consistent schedule or just need an occasional helping hand. My schedule has some flexibility, so I’m happy to work with your routine and your pup’s needs. I’ve always loved dogs and know how much peace of mind comes from having someone you can trust to care for your pets when you’re not home. I’ll treat your dog with the same patience, kindness, and attention I’d want someone to give my own pets. Whether your pup needs a nice walk, a potty break, some playtime, fresh food and water, or simply a little company and extra love while you’re away, I’m happy to help. I’ll also keep you updated after each visit so you know how everything went. I’m not looking to fill my schedule with dozens of bookings — I’d much rather build relationships with a few families and become someone you feel comfortable calling whenever you need a little extra help. I’d love to meet you and your pup! ❤️ As a stay at home mom, I have the flexibility to live and care for your dogs when needed. I’m happy to set up a regular care schedule or be available while you are traveling. I provide drop-in visits and dog walking exclusively in the client’s home, allowing pets to stay in the familiar environment where they feel safest and most comfortable. I believe keeping their normal routine helps reduce stress while you’re away. I’m respectful of your home and attentive to your pet’s individual needs, whether that means feeding, walks, playtime, medication, or simply some extra love and companionship.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Laurel Park
Lexi did an amazing job walking my greyhound and spending the rest of the time with him in the house! He was so happy and looked like he felt safe in all the pictures she sent us, and she got some of our cat too :) We appreciate the care she took with Kuru and we would absolutely book her again. This was our first experience on Rover and I’m glad it worked out so well.

We absolutely adore Geri! From day one, she’s been incredible with our furry kids, and we couldn’t ask for a better dog walker and pet sitter. Our pups always come back happy, well-exercised, and clearly loved. But the real miracle? Winning over our resident diva, Gigi! 😂 Gigi believes every interaction should begin with a few minutes of dramatic protests and attitude (she likes to keep everyone humble), but Geri never skips a beat. With so much patience, kindness, and consistency, she has completely won Gigi’s heart. Watching our little diva go from “Absolutely not!” to “Oh, it’s YOU!” has been nothing short of amazing. One of our favorite parts of the day is receiving the adorable photos Geri sends during their walks. They always brighten our day and reassure us that our furry kids are having the best time. You can genuinely see how happy, comfortable, and cared for they are. Geri is dependable, communicative, and truly treats our pets like family. It’s rare to find someone who not only provides exceptional care but also builds such a special bond with your animals. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her and recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone who will love and care for their pets as if they were her own. Thank you, Geri, for taking such wonderful care of our furry family—and for somehow convincing our little diva that you’re actually one of her favorite humans! ❤️🐾

Steven has helped us a few times now. He is always extremely responsive, responsible and the dogs love him! (The cats don't talk as much but I'm pretty sure they think he's fine.) We are so grateful to have Steven to help us. He took our oldest dog out for a walk by herself and then came back and got the other, more rambunctious ones!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
