“I have asked Mary Ann to help with the care of our family dog twice now and both times she was responsive with booking, cleaning up an accident inside the house, giving meds and showing up in time frames requested. We are really grateful for her help and service.”

“Marley is clearly a dog whisperer. Bruna is a tough cookie and takes long to warm up to people but not with Marley. They were fast friends and she was very attentive to all of Bruna's quirks on their walk.”

“Jennifer did an amazing job getting our super timid dog to be comfortable with her and with walking our two dogs. She was prompt and very communicative. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a dog walker!”

“I’m glad Kim was our first experience with Rover because we are dog sitting a potential second dog for our household, and it was important to us that we gave exercise to our puppy. He was professional and gave updates along the way from arrival to completion. Definitely more than satisfied with his services and will be rebooking!”

About: I’m a proud owner of a crazy dog and a wannabe independent cat, and I’ve been pet sitting for most of my neighbors, taking their dogs on walks, and making sure all of their animals are fed and have had some time to play! I love all animals and I can handle anything from the most energetic puppy to a grumpy cat. I’m something of a pet whisperer I’m currently in highschool, so my scheduling for the next couple months is Monday-Thursday after 1:45pm, Fridays after 12:15, Saturdays after 3:15, and anytime Sunday I can stop by once a day or multiple times a day depending on what is desired in order to feed, check on water, take on walks, or just to get some play time in. Also super down to just keep your pets company for a while, because I know some of them miss their people.
About: Hi! I’m Gemma, a lifelong dog lover with years of experience caring for dogs through Rover, house sitting, and growing up with dogs of my own. I genuinely love getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m very active, so whether your dog loves long walks, hikes, playing fetch, or just relaxing with someone nearby, I’m happy to match their energy. I also have experience with reactive dogs, senior dogs, puppies, and dogs with different routines, so I’m comfortable adapting to each pet’s individual needs. I know how important it is to trust someone with both your pet and your home. I treat every home with respect, keep things clean, and send regular photo updates so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands. My goal is always for your dog to feel like they’re spending time with a friend rather than just being watched. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pup! Pet care is something I intentionally schedule my week around. As a college student with a flexible schedule, I’m able to provide consistent care and stick closely to your pet’s routine. Whether it’s walks, meals, playtime, medications, or overnight stays, I make sure your pet receives the attention and care they deserve. I treat every pet as if they were my own and every home with the utmost respect. I carefully follow your pet’s routine, keep doors and gates secure, and pay close attention on walks and around other animals. I always leave your home clean and tidy, provide regular photo updates, and communicate promptly so you can feel confident your pet is in safe, caring hands.
“Sumaira is always on time and I know I can count on her to take good care of my fur babies. While walking my Siberian Husky another dog that was unleased attacked my dog. Sumaira safely got my girl home and check her out from head to toe. She promptly notified me that the husky was attacked, however alright. Sumaira let me know there was a little blood on her ear, however she did not appear to be injured. I myself have had another dog attack us when we were walking. Sumaira did the responsible thing and notified me and ensured my girl was alright. In this type of situation that is best can be accomplished and despite this incident I will ask Sumaira to walk her again.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Day Valley
I have a strong German Shepherd (Rosie) and, although trained, I would worry about an inexperienced person taking the reigns. I had never considered a sitter before but an injury meant I needed help walking her for a couple of weeks. Any worries were soon allayed. Shawna took such good care of Rosie, that she now beats her tail with absolute delight when she spots Shawna. I found Shawna to be a very capable person who is control, made it fun, and kept my dog safe.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
