I take extra precautions when walking your dog near other dogs and with allowing pets outdoors where wild predators can be nearby. I am very aware of other dogs and will not allow to approach unless previously known. My availability changes. Sometimes I work remotely from home doing business office support for clients. This affects the type of pet care assignments that I may accept due to logistics and pet needs. I care for pets in your home only and take dogs on outings and employ daily frequent play and walks. About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, and for the past 25 years I’ve especially enjoyed fostering and having a multi-dog household. I’m an RN, so I’m very comfortable providing whatever care or assistance your dog may need during their stay, including medications or other special care instructions. I currently have three dogs of my own, all spayed/neutered, and they genuinely enjoy having other dogs around. I have one male who is about 45 pounds and two females who are about 25 and 45 pounds. They are an important part of our family and are very accustomed to welcoming new dogs into the house. My home is set up with dogs in mind, with plenty of space and comfortable places for them to relax, play, and have their own quiet time. I’ve learned over the years that every dog is different, and my goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and peaceful environment where everyone can feel at home. I work 20–30 hours a week, primarily from mid-afternoon into the evening, so I have most of my mornings and early afternoons free to spend with the dogs in my care. I have three dogs of my own who play well together and with other dogs, but also enjoy being lounge potatoes. 🐾 When I’m at work, I leave the door to the backyard open so the dogs can go outside whenever they need to relieve themselves, get some sunshine, or simply enjoy being outdoors. Before I leave for work, we have plenty of time for exercise and fun. Depending on the weather, we might head to the beach, go for a hike, or visit the dog park. If it’s too hot or the weather isn’t cooperating, we’ll take a quick neighborhood walk and then spend time playing inside or relaxing and cuddling on the couch. Over the years, besides always having a multi-dog household, I’ve fostered more than 65 dogs with all kinds of personalities, ages, backgrounds, and needs. That experience has taught me how different every dog can be and how important it is to let them settle in at their own pace. I’m very comfortable helping dogs through the initial awkwardness of being away from their people and home, and I’m happy to give them the patience, reassurance, attention, and affection they need to feel comfortable. I also keep a close eye on the dogs in my care and am very attentive to changes in behavior, appetite, energy, or anything else that might indicate they aren’t feeling quite themselves. My goal is for every dog staying with me to feel safe, loved, included, and like they’re having their own little vacation while their family is away. My house is definitely a dog-friendly home! My dogs are welcome on the couches and beds, and I have plenty of cozy dog beds and pillows scattered throughout the house for everyone to find their favorite spot. If your dog enjoys being around other dogs and can be trusted to have some time alone in the house, they’ll fit right in and have a fantastic time here. When I’m not at work, I spend the majority of my time with my dogs and the dogs staying with me. They are welcome to hang out wherever we are, whether that means playing together, lounging in the backyard, or snuggling up on the couch. My backyard is fully fenced with a 6-foot picket fence, and both gates have deadbolts for extra security. I also have cameras around the house so I can check in on the dogs while I’m away. Honestly, that’s mostly how I catch them stretched out on the grass with their bellies in the sun, enjoying a good afternoon siesta! ☀️🐶 I’m also very comfortable caring for dogs with medical needs. I don’t mind giving medications, following special instructions, or providing extra attention and care when a dog needs it. My goal is to make your dog feel comfortable, safe, loved, and right at home while you’re away.

About: Hi! I'm Seth. and I have over 30 years of experience caring for all kinds of animals. I have returned to California and I am now located in Santa Cruz! I'm comfortable with all dog breeds, all sizes and all ages. I am patient, kind and maintain a tidy, safe, and relaxed environment, caring for your animals and your home, inside and out. I spend my free time volunteering at equine rescues. I live a relatively quiet life, keeping my social circle very small which works well with dedicating myself to providing a full time pet care service. I am also experienced with special needs and senior dogs, and up until very recently, I was a daily volunteer at Starry Skies Equine Rescue and Sanctuary in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I worked to provide gentle, attentive care to horses, mules, donkeys, ponies, goats, pigs and cattle. Dogs & cats are my primary specialty, but I connect easily with all animals. I pet sit as a full time job and I will be seeking equine rescue volunteer opportunities to fill my availability. My availability is generally wide open. I do not have a "regular/day" job. I offer a true, full time pet sitting service. We will start with a 15-30 minute in-home meet and greet. Please provide a printed list detailing veterinary office/phone number, preferred emergency animal hospital, routines/routes, typical walk times and duration, and any helpful reminders that will help me in keeping your dog(s) and other animals safe and happy. A one time demonstration of your preferred feeding schedule/routine is a good idea, so if possible the meet and greet should be as close to this time as possible, allowing me to feed them will start the trust association into my care. Unfortunately, I'm not hosting any animals in my home at this time.
