“Emma was amazing. Finn was very happy when we came home. She sent us many pictures and videos of Finn during the week she was here. We are very pleased and will definitely use her again.”

“Raina was AMAZING! 🤩 She cared so well for our 2 dogs. One small, one large. Also our home she took great care of! We will absolutely have her back! We would recommend her to everyone! 9 days she stayed & we did not have one issue or worry! She followed every rule we had & went above and beyond! Love her!”
“Jonathan took fantastic care of both our dog, Winston, and our house! I would highly recommend him as a pet/house sitter. He took Winston on very long walks, sent daily photos and updates, and kept us informed on Winston's well-being during our absence. We knew Winston was well cared for, and therefore we had no concerns while we were away. Jonathan gave us peace of mind that our "baby" was just fine.”

“From the moment Julia came for the meet-and-greet with Pickles, our one year old rescue who has some anxiety issues with strangers, she gave us a complete sense confidence. She even had a form to get all the information that she would need to know how best to take care of P. When we were away for five days, Julia obviously created a great, easy relationship with our dog and kept her on a routine that we had established (as she has been with us for fewer than three months). Julia sent regular photos and videos of her and updates on how she was doing. I cannot recommend her enough. When we arrived home, Julia had done the bedding(laundry) and she was packed up. The house was immaculate. Thank. You for her loving care. We will be repeats.”

“Mackenzi did a wonderful job with our two dogs. She was a thoughtful dog and house sitter! Everything was cleaned up and the pups were well cared for! Hope to have her back again!”

“Alice was a great dog/cat/house sitter. She always kept me updated. She let me know each time she was at the house and when she left. She kept the house very clean, she vacuumed and she even washed a throw pillow cover the dogs got dirty! She helped to maintain our house plants and garden. She truly went above and beyond in taking care of my fur babies and house while we were away!”

“Grace was wonderful! She provided lots of updates and followed my instructions perfectly. I was able to enjoy my vacation knowing Lilo was well taken care of!”

“Isabel is fantastic with my two big dogs! They have various health concerns and lots of energy, and she made us feel so comfortable with all the great updates/photos while staying at our house for the long weekend. Not only is she a wonderful house guest, we can tell how much our dogs truly enjoy spending time with her!”

“Sarah was exceptional! She took such good care of our cat Keagan and communicated with us daily, sending pictures of them interacting. She was very responsible and left our home as clean as we left it. She paid attention to details and went above and beyond. We highly recommend Sarah and would hire her again without question.”

“Sophie was once again an amazing sitter for Pumpkin! She is very responsive and sends us pictures and updates throughout the week which we always appreciate. She seems to understand Pumpkin and his personality very well and we always come home to a well taken care of and happy dog!”

About: Hi there! I’m Alana – a lifelong animal lover with a soft spot for four-legged friends. I’ve never lived in a home without a dog. My very first pup joined our family when I was just five years old, and since then, I’ve had the joy of raising and loving many wonderful pets. My fur baby, Luna, has been by my side for 16 years since she was just six weeks old – she’s my heart and soul! She recently passed away and it’s left my home feeling very empty which is why pet sitting will bring me joy. I also foster dogs from time to time that need a loving home until they find their forever family. Over the years, I’ve been the go-to pet sitter for family and friends, caring for dogs (and other pets!) while their humans are away. It comes naturally to me, and I genuinely love it. As a stay-at-home mom, I have the time, flexibility, and energy to give your dog the attention, companionship, and TLC they deserve throughout the day. What sets me apart? Years of hands-on experience with dogs of all ages and personalities A calm, pet-loving home environment with plenty of affection Daily availability and flexible scheduling A genuine passion for treating your pet like family Whether your pup loves long walks, belly rubs, or just needs some company while you’re gone, I’m here to help them feel safe, happy, and loved. Let’s chat — I’d love to meet your fur baby! As a stay-at-home mom, I have a very flexible schedule and am home throughout the day to give your pet plenty of love, care, and attention. your pet will always have a calm, watchful presence nearby. We also have a gentle four-year-old daughter who adores animals and is used to being around dogs, especially our own sweet senior pup. Your pet will be welcomed into a safe, loving, and attentive home environment where they’ll never feel lonely. When your dog stays with me, they become part of the family. I create a calm, loving environment where your pup can feel relaxed, safe, and completely at home. Dogs are absolutely allowed on the furniture — snuggles on the couch are encouraged here! I have a fully fenced-in yard that’s perfect for running, playing, and enjoying fresh air in a secure space. I also live just a short walk from a quiet park, ideal for safe and enjoyable walks tailored to your dog’s energy level. Your pup will never be alone — I’m home during the day, and my husband works from home too. That means there’s always someone around to provide attention, belly rubs, potty breaks, and playtime. I’m attentive to your dog’s needs, routines, and personality — whether they’re active and playful or a laid-back lounger. I’m happy to follow any special instructions, feeding routines, medication schedules, or preferences to make their stay as stress-free and comfortable as possible. Your dog will be loved, watched over, and cared for like one of our own — because that’s exactly how I treat them.
“Rayna did an incredible job with my dog, Lucy!! She asked how many updates I wanted on Lucy while I was away and I told her there was no limit, and she delivered the most fun photos and updates! Lucy clearly felt so comfortable with Rayna! I will absolutely be booking again.”

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs since I was 10 years old. My first job was working as a cat sitter for my neighbor’s young cat, Monkey. I’ve stayed at neighbors houses to watch their dogs since high school, providing regular walks, enrichment, and love. I’ve worked with puppies as young as 10 weeks and dogs as old as 12 years. I’ve worked with pets with special needs and medication needs. Most importantly, I truly love animals. As my sister’s weenie dog puppy can attest, nothing makes me happier than having an animal curled up on my lap. Even if it means dealing with some scratches or disciplining, being around pets is always worth it! As a student, my schedule is super flexible. I’m happy to take care of pets whenever I can. I love early morning walks, so I’m available as early as 7:30 am. My house requires getting up a few flights of stairs, so large senior pups may struggle. Otherwise, any animals are welcome. I’m happy to stay at other folks’ homes as I know this often makes animals more comfortable. I’m flexible to whatever your house rules are!

“Rich was excellent. My request was very last minute but he responded immediately and was punctual and courteous in our first meeting. In his initial interaction with my dog Faye, she took a linking to him right away and I was very impressed and put at ease by Rich's knowledge and expertise. He consistently gave me updates and photos during his stay, and not for a moment was I worried. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone.”

“Nicole was absolutely amazing! She was so detailed and thoughtful in her communication with us, and I felt so comforted knowing that she was looking after our pups. She also helped us out when we had a last minute travel delay & came to check on our dogs on short notice. Truly the best! Will definitely be rebooking!”

About: Hi! I have been pet sitting with my non-reactive pup Sylvie for a number of friend's cats and dogs since COVID (usually as a favor) in and out of the New England area. I work at an arts non-profit in PVD and can drive. I can pet-sit and do limited amounts of dog training. Right now I work in a dog-friendly place 10 minutes from my home and my partner is working from home. We like going on hikes and to the dog parks. I would not bring a client's pet to my workplace, but a pet would always have someone with them at all times or at least not be left alone for more than a few hours at a time. I am most flexible on weekends and for overnight care. I have a fenced yard, a crate, and multiple rooms in the home with pocket doors that can split a larger room into two if needed. We usually let pets have free range of home or section off the living room depending on the temperament and needs of the pet.

“Without a doubt, the best pet (and house) sitting experience we have ever had. Xinwei D. (who goes by Garrett) took extra special care of our aging dog, Bernie, while also leaving our home in better condition than we left it. He followed directions to a T, kept in constant communication and sent pictures and updated every day. He will be out first choice in sitters every time. Honestly, we couldn't have taken better care of Bernie ourselves, and being gone for a week knowing someone competent and compassionate was back at home taking care of everything gave us unmatched peace of mind. If he's available, book him for your next drop-in or house sit. You won't be disappointed. Thank you, Garrett!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cranston
Sarah recently stayed with our 13 year old pup for the first time, and it was a great experience. She was very communicative, sent photos, and put my anxiety at ease that our gal was happy and well taken care of. I hope Sarah is able to stay with her again in the future!

My two dogs were very well cared for while I was away and relaxed & happy when I returned home. Mackenzie did a great job balancing the needs of my attention hogging 100+ lb boy and his diminutive, sweet senior sister. It was a relief to know they were in good hands while I was away and a delight to find my house in order upon my return . Thanks Mackenzie!

Hannah was wonderful! She came for a meet and greet to meet our dogs in advance and then sent pictures and took great care of our pups while we were out of town. We have a rescue who is anxious and takes medication, and Hannah handled her needs patiently. We will definitely have Hannah come back!

Christine stayed with our cats as the first sitter we haven’t known personally, and I had pre-warned her that one of our cats is pretty shy and anxious. He turned out to be even moreso than we anticipated and hid the whole weekend—she did a great job working out a way to feed him while distracting our other much more confident, VERY food motivated cat. Would definitely book with her again!

Ciara was amazing. Lots pf pictures. Lots of feedback about walking, eating, medication, and pooping. (I have a minidoxie with back and digestion issues.) she even let him cuddle on sofa with her, like he is used to! My house was spotless and the bed was stripped. Best was that there were no surprises following my return, which is always the true test! Ciara will be my first call next time I need a sitter!
Carse is AMAZING!! I received daily updates with multiple pictures of my girls. She was wonderful with them, even my spicy girl who is disgruntled when I'm not home. The entire time I was gone, I felt 100% confident that my girls and home were in good hands. I will definitely be booking Carse again in the future :)

Sophie did a fantastic job dog and house sitting for about a week. One of my dogs is very cautious and Sophie was extremely patient in earning her trust, especially during a few big thunderstorms and fireworks on consecutive nights. We came home to happy dogs and the house in great condition. I received daily text updates and thoughtful questions to make sure everything was on track for our pack. Will definitely hire again!

JL gave Bug so much love and attention while he was watching her! He's very responsive and sent us lovely updates and photos to let us know how she was doing. She was definitely getting spoiled, and I know she'll be happy to have JL watch her again in the futue.

Pleasant, professional, and kept a watchful eye on our little girl! I would highly recommend! We are definitely glad we went with Jonathan! Wonderful experience especially for such short notice! Put our minds at ease and Bonnie was catered to like the princess she is! Thank you so much Jonathan!!

The average cost for House Sitting in Cranston on Rover is $25 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cranston walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cranston maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cranston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
