About: I grew up with black lab mixes, having at least one dog in the house all the time. I helped to raise two of the family black lab puppies through 15 years and care for the next generation, a 2 year old black lab/border collie rescue pup, teaching her to sit and lay down. I’ve cared for all kinds of dogs over the past few years, learning patience from puppies, strength from sweet old ladies, and the careful nuance that comes with leash aggressive rescues. I now have an adopted a rescue greyhound in the family. She loves new friends but is also perfectly happy cat napping wherever her bed lands. Happy to host or walk, with or without her company. I’m full time at home and so I am free to do breaks and provide limited entertainment between meetings, which are never more than 1.5h. This is the schedule I provide my own pup and would extend to others. I treat them as my own. I prefer to be over communicative with owners if any potential issues arise as well. Greyhounds react particularly poorly to negative feedback and punishment, so patience and focus on pawsitivity (particularly treats) is a standard with me.

I will follow any instructions you give me for taking care of your pet. As for dogs- your dog and I will always take the quieter and less busy route and avoid people and other pets to prevent any unfavorable mishaps. A fenced-in yard is always preferred for playtime, but if you do not have a fenced-in yard than your dog will always be on the leash while we are outside to prevent any runaways. If you have instructions to put your dog in their crate upon leaving, I will always make sure they go into their crate comfortably and latch the hooks completely. In regards to cats, when entering and exiting the house I use extreme caution to make sure the cats do not run outside. I am also Pet CPR and Pet First Aid certified so you can rest assure that your pet would be tended to if an urgent situation were to arise.

“Giovanni was very professional and he has a very loving home. His own pets are well cared for. He even has a 19 year old poodle mix! It’s a real testament to the TLC in the house that can bring a dog into his 19th year of life. Giovanni and my dog were fast friends and I look forward to working with him again soon.”
