Lucas took great care of my two elderly cats. When we got back from our week away they were healthy and happy. Lucas even noticed that Cindy was scratching our couch and covered it with a blanket.

Kaylee was a wonderful surrogate for our 3 kitties while we were away for a week! She clearly loves animals and ours warmed up to her quickly. I always worry about them when we’re away but Kaylee’s daily updates and photos assured me that they were all doing well.

Justin was great! He was very quick to communicate about booking and visits! He was on-time and flexible for drop-in visits, and he provided great updates and photos of his time with Callie! They went for plenty of walks, and Justin spent extra time throwing the ball for her, and just relaxing at home for extra company while I was away! I will book again with Justin for my next trip! He did a fantastic job with Callie!

David took amazing care of our pup. He was kind and gentle with ducky and send tons of photos. He checked in frequently and followed verbal instructions very well despite my mistake of forgetting to leave written instructions. Will be our go to when we need a sitter. Thanks David!

I had an excellent experience with Clareese, she is incredibly reliable, showing up on time for every visit and keeping me updated with regular photos and messages. It gave me great peace of mind to know my cat was in such good hands. Clareese went above and beyond, not only feeding and cleaning up after cosmo but also spending quality time playing and cuddling with him. My cat spoke volumes about their gentle and caring nature. I highly recommend Clareese to anyone in need of a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter. I will definitely be booking their services again in the future. Thank you, Clareese for taking such wonderful care of Cosmo! He loves you💕

Erin was great! She got along really well with my shy cat, and it was clear from the start that she has a natural way with animals. My cat usually takes a long time to warm up to new people, but Erin was patient, gentle, and earned her trust quickly. She kept me updated with messages and photos, and I came home to a happy and relaxed cat. I would definitely recommend Erin!

Both Savannah and Silas were awesome! I knew from when we met them, they were going to be a perfect match and they in fact were. My dogs took to them both very well, and I felt very comfortable while I was out of the country, knowing that my dogs were in loving and responsible hands . Thank you both :)!

About: I have experience with overnight house sitting for my friends and neighbors, but have also been using Rover for approximately 5 years. I am also a pet owner myself for the past 8 years. I love dogs of all sizes and have a special place in my heart for big dogs! I do very well with cats and love bonding with them on their terms. I am a preschool teacher and work on weekdays from 7:30am to 6:30 pm (I work a lot of overtime) and am willing to check on pets in the evening. However, the time that I am at work makes it impossible to give dogs that need to be taken out on walks during the day an impossibility. I can house sit for cats during the week as long as they are able to be alone for the 11 hours that I will be gone. Feel free to ask any questions for clarifications or exceptions. I work more than full-time as a preschool teacher for about 11 hours per day. This makes house sitting for dogs over the weekdays impossible. However, I would be willing to take on house sitting for cats during the week if they are able to be alone for 11 hours. My weekends are completely clear and I can house sit for those days. My apartment will not be available to take in additional pets. My landlord has a policy on that. However, when working with other's pets, I have experience with leashing, harnessing, and walking safely with a variety of dogs or cats (yes, I have walked my cats before!). I am very conscious and situationally aware with my own pets and those of my friends, family, neighbors, and clients.

I don’t think there are enough words to do justice for the amount of appreciation I have for Erin. Erin not only took this booking the day before I needed her due to a last minute cancel by another rover user, she also extended the time we needed her for due to medical emergencies. She went over and beyond for our dogs, especially considering she had to keep them separate the entire time and one of the dogs is not potty trained yet. She even washed the rags we provided her to be able to clean the puppies cage when she went to the bathroom! I think it goes without saying that Erin is an extremely reliable dog sitter, our dogs were very happy when we got home and appear to be kept for very well. She sent us a lot of photos and videos which our son looked forward to seeing everyday, and she kept us up to date on how the dogs were doing! I would highly recommend Erin as a dog sitter, you can tell she really loves animals!

About: Hi! I would love any experience and I love all animals. I also have a very flexible schedule! I would love to help anyone I can! I can help out most days of the week. Mostly mornings or afternoons, but working during the day on the weekends works perfectly for me! I love all animals and treat any I meet like my own! I would not mind having to respectfully visit client’s homes if that is needed!

About: I have had a dog of my own for nine years and think I would be a great fit to take care of your animal. I know what to do in different situations with dogs and cats because I have babysat dogs and cats before. I have a lot of free time to properly take care of your animals. I am willing to spend more time and really make sure your satisfied with my visit. I spend time taking them for walks, grooming them, and just spending time with them. I love exercising my dog and making sure he gets treats for his good behavior.

About: I grew up with a reactive black lab, so I know how to handle leash pulling and how to deescalate and prevent fights. In her old age, I learned to accommodate her failing joints. I’ve been trained at the Licking County Humane Society in Ohio as a volunteer dog walker, which has well equipped me to understand and respond respectfully to dog language. I further pursue this knowledge by reading about how dogs communicate with us, and by observing and analyzing their behavior both in real life and online. This will be my primary commitment, so I can easily cater to your schedule to fit your pets needs. Mornings, evenings, weekends, whatever you need, except Thursdays :) I will take great care to follow your instructions and respect the rules of your home and needs of your animal(s). I cannot accept boarding in my own home at the moment.

About: I’ve had the wonderful experience of growing up with and acquiring caretaking skills for animals. In my childhood home, I spent my most sacred time with dogs, cats, and horses. And as an adult, I’ve gotten to work with pigs, geese, chickens, turkeys, tarantulas (no direct handling), aquarium fish, skunks, and bunnies! I am adept at non-intravenous, at-home vet care (looking to expand that skill) and have professional grooming experience. I have worked at pet resorts, volunteered with animal sanctuaries and barns, and provided home-based pet care. I have raised multiple puppies using cooperative care-based training. I excel at learning individual creatures’ communication styles and providing detailed care. I work part-time and am self-structured, so I can accommodate any pet care schedules if we fit! I have my own vehicle as well - an SUV that can accommodate most if not all dogs (and cats). I live on the second floor of an apartment building without a fenced in yard; no elevator so pets must be able to manage a flight of stairs or be carried. The neighborhood is lovely for walks and there is a dog park within walking distance. I have air conditioning, wood floors with rugs that can be cleaned easily, and a tub.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
