“Josh was an awesome house and pet sitter! He stayed at the house and took care of my dog and cat. They seemed very happy throughout his stay and he left the house tidy. He sent pictures and updates everyday, which gave me peace of mind. I highly recommend Josh!”

About: I’ve grown up with huskies my whole life, so I’m well familiar with high energy dogs and what they need. I’ve also traveled to Mexico to help care for my grandparents’ 7 dogs, handling feeding, exercise, and daily care on my own. I’m responsible, dependable, and genuinely love animals. Your pet will be well taken care of. I’m an active college student, so my schedule can vary depending on my classes and other commitments. For a more detailed understanding of my availability, please message me and I’ll be happy to provide my current class schedule, along with information about any jobs or other commitments I may have lined up. I take pet safety seriously and always make sure dogs are secure, comfortable, and never left unattended for long. When caring for pets in your home, I follow your routine closely so your dog feels at ease. I’m attentive, calm, and experienced with dogs of all sizes and energy levels.
“Mindy was so wonderful! She made my stress level of leaving Chandler behind for the weekend go from 100 to zero. She treated Chandler like he was her own and I appreciated that. She is kind, friendly, and truly loves dogs. She has great communication and is timely. Without reservation, I recommend her!”

About: I have worked with neighbors pets since I was in high school, haves pets of my own since I was born and am currently a hospice volunteer. My schedule is very open as I am a fourth year student at cal poly that doesn’t have many classes left to take. I also wake up usually pretty early if needed to feed pets early in morning. I like to make sure that in my house the environment is set up especially for a puppy for instance that it can’t go out running in the street and using positive reinforcement to help train the puppy to make the experience safer while walking the dog.
“Clare took great care of our place while we were out of the country for a week! It was nice to relax knowing our dog and cat were in great hands. She helped pick up packages and keep our space tidy and neat too. Highly recommend Clare for any pet sitting needs!”

“Carly did a great job giving our boys the love and attention they are used to! She also did a great job sending pics and asking questions when clarification was helpful. We will absolutely invite her to come back!”

“Claire was great with the dogs. We got daily pictures and updates while we were out of town for a week, and they were happy and relaxed when we got back. Will absolutely book again.”

“Ysabel took excellent care of our anxious little pup. He curled up in her lap, napped, enjoyed treats, and felt safe and cared for. Ysabel asked all the right questions of us about his needs and routine, and she sent us photo updates during her time with him. Ysabel is a reliable, professional, and courteous sitter. We will absolutely ask her to dog sit for us again!”

About: I’ve helped out with both cats and dogs. I’ve been a dog/cat owner, sitter, and walker throughout my life. I love animals and will welcome them with open arms! I have a hybrid schedule so I’m remote Thursday-Sunday! I usually am only out of the house for an hour or two, and would enjoy bringing them along if they’re comfortable! I have a fully fenced yard, no grass, so there will be frequent walks! I enjoy having animals close by so will allow them in my room and on furniture near me!

About: I've cared for animals of all kinds for as long as I can remember, and working with pets has always been something I'm passionate about. Over the years, I've gained extensive experience caring for dogs, cats, and other animals with a wide range of personalities, temperaments, and care needs. In addition to pet care, I have plenty of experience house sitting and understand the importance of keeping a home safe, clean, and well-maintained while owners are away. I treat every home with the same respect and care that I would my own. I've also volunteered with Guide Dogs for the Blind and local animal shelters, where I gained hands-on experience working with animals of all ages, sizes, and demeanors. These experiences have taught me patience, reliability, and how to respond calmly to each animal's unique needs. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and anxious, or somewhere in between, I'm confident in providing compassionate, attentive care to help them feel comfortable and loved while you're away. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pets and home are in caring, responsible hands. I'm currently a student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and also work part-time, so my daytime schedule varies from week to week. However, I often have long breaks between classes and work, which allows me to stop by throughout the day if your pet needs a potty break, feeding, medication, or some extra attention. Most mornings, I leave around 8:30 a.m., but I'm typically in and out during the day before returning for the evening around 4:00 p.m. From then on, I'm home consistently for the rest of the night. I'll always communicate my schedule in advance so you know exactly when your pet will be cared for. When caring for pets in a client's home, I do my best to maintain their normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I carefully follow all feeding, medication, exercise, and household instructions, and I always make sure pets have fresh water, plenty of attention, and a clean environment. I respect every home as if it were my own, keeping it tidy and secure throughout my stay. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and receiving the care they deserve.
“Suzanne did a great job with our pup Kal! She was very flexible and easy to work with. She kept in touch while we were away and Kal got plenty of love, attention, and exercise. We’d highly recommend Suzanne and her fun family for your pet sitting needs.”

About: I love hanging out with dogs while their parents parents are away! I am a big hiker, so on the weekends I love taking the dogs out for a hike/long walks and even the beach if allowed! I currently work 8-5 with occasional early entry at 6am. Weekends I am free, and evenings I am free. I am typically active early in the morning, able to feed and walk in the mornings and afternoons. I typically like to pet sit at the owners home to make the time away from the pets parents as seamless as possible! I am incredible respectful of other peoples homes and incredibly clean and tidy.
About: I've had dogs my entire life and have over 19 years of hands-on experience caring for them. Growing up, we often had two dogs at a time, so I helped with feeding, walking, playtime, and providing daily care from a young age. I'm comfortable with dogs of different sizes, personalities, and energy levels. My schedule is currently very flexible, allowing me to provide attentive care throughout the week. I volunteer Monday afternoons at The Marine Mammal Center, but I'm otherwise available for walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting. While I have a few weekends already committed, I'm happy to work with you to find times that fit both our schedules. Whether I'm caring for your pet in your home or mine, their safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, follow your instructions carefully, and make sure they receive plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I believe every animal is different, and I always strive to create a calm, positive environment where they feel safe and cared for.
About: Growing up with horses, I developed my passion for animals at a young age. I ran a petsitting business for 7 years in Charlotte, NC and am aiming to get started again here on the Central Coast! Experience includes house sitting, livestock care, dog walking, and drop-in care. I do currently work full-time 12 hour shifts Monday through Thursday. I am available in the evenings from 5 to 10 still. Fridays through Sunday are fully available. For seven years, I provided house sitting for many repeat customers that travelled often and for extended periods for work. I have also worked on various horse farms. My breadth of experience allowed me to be flexible with any accommodations you may have. I do have a my dog, Coco, that likes to join along but this is not a requirement.
“Brittany was amazing!! We have never felt so comfortable leaving our babies. She sent us so many pictures, videos, and text updates. We highly recommend Brittany, and we definitely want to work with her again in the future! ?”

“Tatum was great with John Fox! We were on vacation and needed a sitter for the day. She was patient as I figured out our schedule, on time the day we booked her and followed through with our instructions for our particular terrier :) he was happy and calm when we got back after our 6 hour outing. Ela did a great job pet sitting our cats and senior dog. She followed all the critter instructions and was very communicative, especially when our old guy was having problems while she was here. She sent lots of photos, too! We will definitely use her services again in the future.

Joshua has helped us with our two French bulldogs several times, both drop in visits and house sitting. He just finished a week and half house sitting and he has always been great. One of our dogs has eye drops needed several times a day and he always takes care of her.

Ysabel was fantastic with our frenchie pups! She was able to spend quality time with them, flexible with timing of when we were leaving and coming back into town. She was comfortable medicating both our pups one from an injury as well as administering eye drops to our other pup. Trustworthy and reliable! We will be booking her again in the future! Highly recommend her to help with your pups 😊

We had to find someone at the last minute when we went our of town suddenly for a family event. Jane responded to us within hours and we arranged a time to meet. She was a first-time sitter for us and the time and transportation push meant we didn't have the time to talk with her and orient her to our three pets and home as we usually do. Despite this, she did a great job. The animals liked her, even to sleeping with her from the first night and eating heartily from the beginning, (which they don't always do when we're away.) She also dealt well with an unexpected red ant invasion in the kitchen (!) and administered our dog's medication on time and correctly. Sent lots of photos and updates, too. She's a Cal Poly student and has classes some days, but wasn't gone from our home more than a few hours on only two dates, which we discussed and okayed in advance. We'd definitely call her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chorro walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chorro maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chorro choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chorro. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
