“Josh was very responsive to emails and going over details about care for both my dog and home. He seemed to be very conscientious and responsible - two nice characteristics.”

“Ysabel took excellent care of our anxious little pup. He curled up in her lap, napped, enjoyed treats, and felt safe and cared for. Ysabel asked all the right questions of us about his needs and routine, and she sent us photo updates during her time with him. Ysabel is a reliable, professional, and courteous sitter. We will absolutely ask her to dog sit for us again!”

“Emily is the best!! She took such good care of our dog Pablo while we were away for the night. He’s a large, high energy dog with separation anxiety, so we were a little nervous leaving him overnight, but he did great with her. She kept us updated with photos and made sure he got enough exercise and attention to stay happy/settled. She also left a thoughtful note afterward on how he did which we really appreciated. Overall we felt super comfortable having her watch him and would definitely book her again.”

About: Dogs have been a part of my family since I was born, and I’ve personally trained two of them myself. I’m currently an Animal Science student at Cal Poly SLO, where I’m constantly learning about and working with a wide variety of animals. I’m also a student employee and volunteer at some of Cal Poly’s animal units, where I work with bull calves and horses. These experiences have helped me feel confident and comfortable providing safe, attentive, and loving care for all kinds of companions. I truly love animals of all sizes and ages, and I’ve never met a dog I didn’t like or get along with. I understand how important it is to find someone you trust with your pet, and I will do my absolute best to make sure they feel loved, safe, and comfortable while in my care! As a Cal Poly student, my schedule varies at different points in the year, but I do my best to keep my calendar updated. I'm happy to work with you to find times that fit into your pet's routine! I will care for your pets no matter the environment! I can adjust to whatever your pets needs may be and will be diligent to ensure your animal has the best care possible.
“Mindy is such a gift to our family! She has always taken such good care of our pets and house in the past but this time I was a little extra worried about leaving my very elderly dog who struggles with dementia. I didn’t have to worry because Mindy came early on the morning we left and stayed until our flight landed on the night we came home so that our old dog wouldn’t become anxious. She’s just the perfect sitter!”

About: I have 10 years of experience pet sitting for family and friends and I truly enjoy creating a safe, fun & nurturing environment. Your furry kids will be treated like part of the family, with consistent routines, lots of attention, just like my own pets. Caring for animals naturally fits into my lifestyle, and I bring that same sense of responsibility and joy to every pet I look after. I have a very open schedule which can accommodate a variety of time slots. I also provide local and long distance and can travel globally. I always require an online Meet & Greet before every booking to ensure we are a great fit. I maintain secure environments by double-checking leashes, securing gates, and pet-proofing spaces to prevent accidents. When house sitting, I respect your property as if it were my own. I follow your precise care instructions, ensure doors and windows are securely locked. I provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in great hands. In the rare event of an emergency, I am familiar with local 24/7 veterinary clinics and am backed by the Rover Guarantee.
“Sophia was great! She came to our house in advance to get familiar with our pup and where things are. We could immediately tell that our dog felt comfortable with her and loved her. Sophia asked great questions, took our dog for hikes every day, and sent regular updates and photos. We felt very confident in her and could not have asked for a better experience! We would absolutely recommend her as an amazing pet-sitter!”

“Noelle watched our pup at our place over a long weekend and was wonderful! She is very communicative and our dog loved her. Would definitely recommend her and hope to book her again!”

“Carly was fantastic! She sent me super cute photos while I was gone and definitely went above and beyond. Carly is someone I can trust with my pets and not have to worry while I’m out of town!”

About: What sets me apart is my patience and attentiveness. As an ABA therapist, I’m great at reading behavior and staying calm, which helps with anxious, energetic, or high-needs dogs. I’m comfortable with puppies (training and routines) and senior dogs who may need extra care or a gentler approach. I treat every pet like my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I work part-time, so I have a flexible schedule. I’m especially available on weekends all day and most weeknights, making it easy to provide consistent care, walks, and attention during those times. I’m good at sticking to routines and making sure pets get the care they need. I focus on creating a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for every pet. In a client’s home, I follow their pet’s routine closely involving feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions so pets feel secure and stress-free. In my home, I make sure the space is clean, pet-safe, and supervised at all times. I also have two dogs at home with different sizes and needs, so I’m very comfortable adjusting care based on each pet’s personality, energy level, and routine. I pay close attention to behavior and safety, keep environments secure (doors, leashes, etc.), and always prioritize the pet’s well-being. I also provide regular updates so owners feel confident and at ease while they’re away.
“Clare was terrific to work with!! Communication was great, she was very loving with our dog, and we felt very comfortable with her at her home. We will definitely be using her in the future!”

I also have experience working with untrained, disabled, and high medical needs in dogs specifically. Pet sitting experience for about 5 years on and off. Over the summer I will have nights and majority of the day free for pet care including early mornings! I have class on MW 10am-3pm and TTh 10am-12pm so anytime before and after I am very flexible! Respecting your home and space is always a priority and most importantly keeping your pet safe! Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Chorro
Ela did a great job pet sitting our cats and senior dog. She followed all the critter instructions and was very communicative, especially when our old guy was having problems while she was here. She sent lots of photos, too! We will definitely use her services again in the future.

Karah is amazing! We have a full of anxiety large dog and she handled him with love and care. She took him on exciting beach adventures and cooked up his special needs food. The house was spotless. She sent videos and pictures. We look forward to Karah's help again.

Joshua has helped us with our two French bulldogs several times, both drop in visits and house sitting. He just finished a week and half house sitting and he has always been great. One of our dogs has eye drops needed several times a day and he always takes care of her.

Ysabel was fantastic with our frenchie pups! She was able to spend quality time with them, flexible with timing of when we were leaving and coming back into town. She was comfortable medicating both our pups one from an injury as well as administering eye drops to our other pup. Trustworthy and reliable! We will be booking her again in the future! Highly recommend her to help with your pups 😊

We had to find someone at the last minute when we went our of town suddenly for a family event. Jane responded to us within hours and we arranged a time to meet. She was a first-time sitter for us and the time and transportation push meant we didn't have the time to talk with her and orient her to our three pets and home as we usually do. Despite this, she did a great job. The animals liked her, even to sleeping with her from the first night and eating heartily from the beginning, (which they don't always do when we're away.) She also dealt well with an unexpected red ant invasion in the kitchen (!) and administered our dog's medication on time and correctly. Sent lots of photos and updates, too. She's a Cal Poly student and has classes some days, but wasn't gone from our home more than a few hours on only two dates, which we discussed and okayed in advance. We'd definitely call her again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Chorro on Rover is $53.13 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 537 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Chorro. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Chorro walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Chorro maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Chorro choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Chorro. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
