About: I’ve helped out with both cats and dogs. I’ve been a dog/cat owner, sitter, and walker throughout my life. I love animals and will welcome them with open arms! I have a hybrid schedule so I’m remote Thursday-Sunday! I usually am only out of the house for an hour or two, and would enjoy bringing them along if they’re comfortable! I have a fully fenced yard, no grass, so there will be frequent walks! I enjoy having animals close by so will allow them in my room and on furniture near me!
About: I love hanging out with dogs while their parents parents are away! I am a big hiker, so on the weekends I love taking the dogs out for a hike/long walks and even the beach if allowed! I currently work 8-5 with occasional early entry at 6am. Weekends I am free, and evenings I am free. I am typically active early in the morning, able to feed and walk in the mornings and afternoons. I typically like to pet sit at the owners home to make the time away from the pets parents as seamless as possible! I am incredible respectful of other peoples homes and incredibly clean and tidy.
About: Hello! I have many years of experience caring for cats, cats and chickens. I grew up on a ranch and had dogs and cats of my own. When I house sit I always keep the house tidy and take good care of the animals. I love all animals! My past experience includes-taking the animals on walks, feeding and preparing meals for them, brushing them, playing with them, giving them meds (when needed) and always clean up after them. I am a very caring, patient, fun and nurturing person. I have cared from dogs of all ages and breeds. I have cared for puppies and dogs with disabilities. I am accountable and can provide great references. I love meeting new animals and getting to know their personalities!

“Joshuah was a life saver. He made himself available near the last minute, and when my flight wad delayed, he stayed a couple hours longer than scheduled. He left the place just as clean as I left it, and most importantly, I came home to happy critters! He also sent several pictures every day, which I loved, especially as I was a couple thousand miles away.”

About: I've cared for animals of all kinds for as long as I can remember, and working with pets has always been something I'm passionate about. Over the years, I've gained extensive experience caring for dogs, cats, and other animals with a wide range of personalities, temperaments, and care needs. In addition to pet care, I have plenty of experience house sitting and understand the importance of keeping a home safe, clean, and well-maintained while owners are away. I treat every home with the same respect and care that I would my own. I've also volunteered with Guide Dogs for the Blind and local animal shelters, where I gained hands-on experience working with animals of all ages, sizes, and demeanors. These experiences have taught me patience, reliability, and how to respond calmly to each animal's unique needs. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and anxious, or somewhere in between, I'm confident in providing compassionate, attentive care to help them feel comfortable and loved while you're away. My goal is to give you peace of mind, knowing your pets and home are in caring, responsible hands. I'm currently a student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and also work part-time, so my daytime schedule varies from week to week. However, I often have long breaks between classes and work, which allows me to stop by throughout the day if your pet needs a potty break, feeding, medication, or some extra attention. Most mornings, I leave around 8:30 a.m., but I'm typically in and out during the day before returning for the evening around 4:00 p.m. From then on, I'm home consistently for the rest of the night. I'll always communicate my schedule in advance so you know exactly when your pet will be cared for. When caring for pets in a client's home, I do my best to maintain their normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I carefully follow all feeding, medication, exercise, and household instructions, and I always make sure pets have fresh water, plenty of attention, and a clean environment. I respect every home as if it were my own, keeping it tidy and secure throughout my stay. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and receiving the care they deserve.
“Carly did a great job giving our boys the love and attention they are used to! She also did a great job sending pics and asking questions when clarification was helpful. We will absolutely invite her to come back!”

About: I have 10 years of experience pet sitting for family and friends and I truly enjoy creating a safe, fun & nurturing environment. Your furry kids will be treated like part of the family, with consistent routines, lots of attention, just like my own pets. Caring for animals naturally fits into my lifestyle, and I bring that same sense of responsibility and joy to every pet I look after. I have a very open schedule which can accommodate a variety of time slots. I also provide local and long distance and can travel globally. I always require an online Meet & Greet before every booking to ensure we are a great fit. I maintain secure environments by double-checking leashes, securing gates, and pet-proofing spaces to prevent accidents. When house sitting, I respect your property as if it were my own. I follow your precise care instructions, ensure doors and windows are securely locked. I provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in great hands. In the rare event of an emergency, I am familiar with local 24/7 veterinary clinics and am backed by the Rover Guarantee.
About: I’ve had dogs and cat for the last 7-8 years. They have been so good to us and we’ve enjoyed them more than I imagined. I have a business that I’ve owned for seven years and I’m able to make my own schedule. Also, my homeschooled kids are home and willing to help if I ever need it. I have done 20+ years of babysitting and childcare in my home and other peoples homes. Plus, I’ve had clients that I have worked for and have trusted me with their keys to their home for seven years.
“Emily is the best!! She took such good care of our dog Pablo while we were away for the night. He’s a large, high energy dog with separation anxiety, so we were a little nervous leaving him overnight, but he did great with her. She kept us updated with photos and made sure he got enough exercise and attention to stay happy/settled. She also left a thoughtful note afterward on how he did which we really appreciated. Overall we felt super comfortable having her watch him and would definitely book her again.”

“Analgesic is am absolutel pro! She was so kind to our dog who has separation anxiety. She was able to calm him down & give is the opportunity to catch a movie. She was on time, very responsive. A jewel.”

About: Cal Poly student, 4th year Animal Science major on the pre-vet track. I have experience in and out of the classroom caring for dogs of all sizes. I have a pittie at home away from college and have grown up with both small and large dogs. Through my time at Cal Poly I have learned how to properly approach animals in a manner that creates a welcoming and calm experience for them which is very important in unfamiliar settings. I also have experience working with untrained, disabled, and high medical needs in dogs specifically. Pet sitting experience for about 5 years on and off. Over the summer I will have nights and majority of the day free for pet care including early mornings! I have class on MW 10am-3pm and TTh 10am-12pm so anytime before and after I am very flexible! Respecting your home and space is always a priority and most importantly keeping your pet safe! Double checking closed doors and keeping a close eye so they don’t get into anything is something I’m well versed in for the sneaky ones!
“Clare was terrific to work with!! Communication was great, she was very loving with our dog, and we felt very comfortable with her at her home. We will definitely be using her in the future!”

“Ysabel took excellent care of our anxious little pup. He curled up in her lap, napped, enjoyed treats, and felt safe and cared for. Ysabel asked all the right questions of us about his needs and routine, and she sent us photo updates during her time with him. Ysabel is a reliable, professional, and courteous sitter. We will absolutely ask her to dog sit for us again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Edna
This was my very first experience using Rover, and Genevieve set the bar sky-high. From our first message - which she replied to within minutes. Throughout her stay, she sent thoughtful updates, photos several times a day, kept the house spotless, and followed everything perfectly. Even asking for clarification when something was unclear. A rare and much appreciated quality. She also responded immediately anytime I reached out. All four of my pets adored her - even my shy cats, who usually keep to themselves, warmed up quickly. That alone says everything. Genevieve had a large, loyal Rover clientele when she lived in another state, and it's easy to see why. She is genuinely caring, exceptionally reliable, and has a calm, confident energy that animals (and their humans!) immediately trust. Now, I feel confident traveling and leaving my furry family in her care. I'll absolutely be re-booking her again - Genevieve is truly top-tier! Thank you Genevieve

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Edna on Rover is $34.41 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Edna walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Edna maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Edna choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Edna. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 93% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
