“Adrienne took such good care of my pups while I was away recently! She was super punctual and got on with the dogs just great. Enzo and Bentley were well cared for while I was away and would have her help again any time!”

“Bonnie is great with my kittens. She keeps the schedule and has outstanding communication skills. I appreciate her flexibility and desire to do what is best for the kittens and pet parents.”

“Analiese took great care in making sure to entertain my kitty while I was away. This is my second time booking with her, and she was great at sending photos with updates every morning — I trust her and will boom with her again!”

“Travis was great. He responded quickly to my initial request even though he was out of town when I contacted him. He’s so easygoing and friendly. I was completely comfortable having him in my home and my cats warmed up to him quickly! I’ll definitely be using him again.”

“Kayla took great care of my two cats while we were away! It was very comforting to know that they were being looked after by a fellow cat-lover. One of my cats can be a little feisty, but Kayla was patient with him and got along with him just fine. We highly recommend Kayla to anyone looking for a great sitter!”

About: I love hanging out with dogs while their parents parents are away! I am a big hiker, so on the weekends I love taking the dogs out for a hike/long walks and even the beach if allowed! I currently work 8-5 with occasional early entry at 6am. Weekends I am free, and evenings I am free. I am typically active early in the morning, able to feed and walk in the mornings and afternoons. I typically like to pet sit at the owners home to make the time away from the pets parents as seamless as possible! I am incredible respectful of other peoples homes and incredibly clean and tidy.
“Genevieve was so great at doing a couple of drop ins for our dog. She communicated so well and let us know that she was able to get in the house. She sent a bunch of pictures of their time to together.”

“Joshuah is a great guy, he truly cares for the dogs he walks. We ran out of food while abroad and he stepped in to buy just the right kind Otto needed (real food). Thank you Joshua! Look forward to another visit.”

About: I grew up with animals and have always had a special connection with them. I have worked with animals of all walks of life in an animal shelter & truly enjoy getting to witness their success. When working at the animal shelter I used to take dogs on walks and to the play pens where they would socialize with potential new families and other dogs. While they were in the play pens it was my job to ensure things ran smoothly and to deescalate any situations that might arise. Being able to celebrate in an animals victories and see how much they have grown & learned over time is like nothing else! I am wholly committed to anything your pet may need during our time together, no interruptions unless there is an emergency. If you have any questions about availability outside of my specified time frames please feel free to reach out and I will see what I can do! I would never do something to put your animals in harms way, I am incredibly thorough and will follow any specified instructions. If I have any questions about your pets needs I will be sure to seek clarification before taking any actions.
About: Your dog is as much an individual as you are and we are here to help your puppies to have exactly the experience that they need. I am a life long dog lover and have had many dogs over the years (work travel prevents me from ownership right now). Over the years my household (me, adult son, grand daughter (6)) have adopted or fostered a wide variety of dogs from a puppy to be trained and moved on to forever home to senior dogs who ultimately ended up with their forever home right here. I am excellent at giving medication (was a LPN for humans), long walks that I enjoy as much as the dog, and am open to any dog related service your dog may need. I will always treat your dog like the wonderful individual they are. I am open to any size dog and ANY breed (I have great relationships with pit bulls, Chihuahua's, and other high difficulty breads) All dogs must have flee control and be up on vaccinations (and licensed). I was reading the Rover information for customers and it said you should ask about how much cuddle time, playtime, and walks cost. Your pet will get all the cuddles, walks, and playtime they can stand for free. I do this because everybody in my house loves dogs and want to make new furry friends. Feel free to contact me with any questions I am a work from home writer, artist, photographer, and journalist, so I have lots of open time. I do travel for work in the summer months which does leave some days completely unavailable, but otherwise ready to walk from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. There is no other way to say it, I love dogs and will treat your dog with more respect than most humans receive. The walks will be well planned and any care will be exactly what you requested.
About: Years of cat fostering, present for all major travel holidays, reliable schedule. I cannot stress enough how much I want to pet your cat. 🐈⬛ I work an 8-4 job so I am happy to do evening visits weekdays. I have very free weekends and consistent schedules and hours so I should be able to do every weekend and work holiday all day. Most of cat care is being able to notice behaviors and respond. I am patient and I usually like to sit quietly and let the cats approach me, staying quiet, telegraphing my movements, and not approaching unless needed. I can feed, scoop and change litter, change water, play (my fosters are a big fan of my wand toy technique), and cuddle. I will also send a million pictures so you know they’re being cared for.
About: Hi! I'm a senior Animal Science student at Cal Poly with over four years of pet sitting experience. Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I treat every pet like they're my own. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing outside, or relaxing at home, I'll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away. I have experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, multi-pet households, and administering oral medications. I know every pet has a different personality and routine, so I always take the time to follow your instructions and keep things as consistent as possible. You'll also receive plenty of photos and updates, so you can relax knowing your pets are happy and in good hands. I’m a full-time Animal Science student at Cal Poly, so caring for animals is already a big part of my daily life. My schedule is flexible outside of class, which allows me to plan walks, check-ins, or pet sitting visits throughout the day. I’m typically only away for class for a few hours at a time, so I’m able to spend plenty of time with pets making sure they’re comfortable, exercised, and getting attention. I enjoy incorporating walks, playtime, and care into my routine and making sure each pet gets the time and care they need. I understand that trusting someone with your home and pets is a big decision. My goal is to make the experience as stress-free as possible for both you and your pets. I stick closely to each pet's normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, playtime, and any special instructions you provide. I'm comfortable with energetic dogs, senior pets, and homes with multiple animals, and I always pay close attention to their behavior so I can recognize when something seems off. As an Animal Science student, I've gained experience handling and caring for animals in a variety of settings, which has taught me the importance of patience, observation, and safe animal handling. Whether your pet wants to stay active or simply have someone nearby while you're away, I'll make sure they receive the attention and care they need.

WoW !! Really impressed with Genevieve, she is supremely attentive, competent, & caring for my feline critters! I have 4 inside cats including a rambunctious kitten and that's a lot of work for anyone! Genevieve exceeded my expectations in many ways but mostly because of her immediate response and often texted me first about what was going on at home - I'm a nervous cat-mom as when I'm away from home I need reassurance that all is well and calm with the older cats and that the kitten hasn't destroyed the place or gotten trapped inside a drawer. I will definitely use Genevieve again and again !!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
