About: I don’t have any of my own, but throughout my childhood we had 1-2 dogs at all times. I’ve always loved dogs, but my apartment won’t allow them so now I live vicariously through this app. I have weekends off and work from 7a- 3:30p daily so afternoon walks or pet sitting can be arranged around that. I’d love to add some walks with a pet. I’d be happy to help care for a pet in their own home. I work during the day, but would be overjoyed to have a pet at home to take care of.
About: I am a lifetime animal lover, pet owner and pet shelter volunteer. I have a lot of experience with pets with behavior problems and/or reactivity. My best self comes out around pets. I already love yours. I am a 'stay-at-home' mom so all my tasks are flexible. I am available for dog walking and cat/dog/other check-ins. I have a fenced yard but will not be doing Rover dog visits at my home. If requested, I would love to take your dog on field trips like the park, beach or a hike
“Sarah saved the day! Actually 2 days ... and now, she's my go-to for daily care for my babes. We're currently in an Inn at Pismo Beach while our furniture is in transit and in the meantime I had to start my new position so leaving them in a strange place was a no-no. I found Sarah last minute and from the very first 10 minutes, I knew she was safe, kind, and very capable of managing not one, but 2 (one being 85 lbs)! They loved her from the first minute they met her! Look no further. She's the one.”

“I can’t say enough great things about Miki. She was absolutely excellent, super sweet, professional, and caring. She took amazing care of my pets and kept me updated the entire time with great communication and plenty of pictures. It gave me such peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. I 100% recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and loving to care for their pets.”
“Shelby did a wonderful job during the drop-in visit with Cooper! Every instruction was followed carefully, and it was clear that a lot of attention and care went into making sure Cooper felt comfortable and happy. Shelby was both professional and incredibly kind, creating such a positive experience from start to finish. It’s such a relief knowing Cooper is in such loving and capable hands. Highly recommend!”

“Kayla took great care of my two cats while we were away! It was very comforting to know that they were being looked after by a fellow cat-lover. One of my cats can be a little feisty, but Kayla was patient with him and got along with him just fine. We highly recommend Kayla to anyone looking for a great sitter!”

“Zara is absolutely amazing!! She left such detailed care notes and sent tons of photos which is really appreciated. She goes above and beyond - truly the BEST cat sitter we’ve had. We were able to fully enjoy our vacation knowing that our cats were in the best hands. 10/10 😊”

“Riley took such good care of Sushi! She ensures that Sushi gets her walks and mental enrichment which is exactly what she needs. I definitely recommend her and would rebook her again for Sushi’s care. Thank you so much! 😊”

About: I’ve helped out with both cats and dogs. I’ve been a dog/cat owner, sitter, and walker throughout my life. I love animals and will welcome them with open arms! I have a hybrid schedule so I’m remote Thursday-Sunday! I usually am only out of the house for an hour or two, and would enjoy bringing them along if they’re comfortable! I have a fully fenced yard, no grass, so there will be frequent walks! I enjoy having animals close by so will allow them in my room and on furniture near me!

About: I’ve taken care of all sorts of animals, including cats, dogs, bunnies, goats, fish, chickens, ducks, and more. Would love to take care of some animals while making extra money! I’m chronically ill and have not been able to work full time, so taking care of animals is the perfect job to sustain me while I recover. Need to save up for college and mh future as well ❤️ I cannot work due to chronic illnesses, so I’m free 24/7 to sit and take care of fur babies! Would love to help out :) My adopted kitty is monitored all the time and fed with water twice a day. I have just began fostering cats as well, and my current newborn foster gets around the clock care and feeding every 4-6 hours
About: While going to college I walked approximately 10 dogs (individually) per month with occasional 3 dogs at a time. I’m comfortable with all size dogs; Chihuahua to Great Danes. If the dog likes to run, I’m up for that too. I like to be active and I know some dogs need a good run to get out their energy. I’m open to pet care. My house is pet friendly, and has a backyard enclosed with a 6 ft fence, gate that locks and a grassy area. I care for pets as if they were my own. I can give baths, make sure they are fed on time - including medication, and bathroom breaks, and most importantly walks or runs.
About: I’ve had dogs and cat for the last 7-8 years. They have been so good to us and we’ve enjoyed them more than I imagined. About: I have always pet and house sat for neighbors, family friends, my family. I am a home body and enjoy watching over and protecting people's homes and beloved animals while they are away. I am always apprehensive leaving my pets alone with a stranger, that is why I strive to make people feel safe and comfortable. I have always been an animal person and have done pet-sitting as a favor to people. I figured, now as a nineteen year old, why not make it a nice little side hustle to earn some extra money for college. I live in Solvang California and I work a part time job on the weekdays. Other than that I can walk dogs, do drop in visits and I can stay in your house to watch over your animals. Each pet is unique, I appreciate when owners walk me through their routine, leave notes and emergency contact info, if anything were to happen. I want to make both the animals and owners comfortable, and like everyone to be on the same page. Communication is very valuable.
“We were visiting SLO with our dogs and were in need of a pet sitter. I came across Sandy’s profile and reached out. Sandy graciously said she’d watch our babies. I am so glad we went with Sandy. She was talented, knowledgeable and very educational. She took great care of our babies and sent many great photos. I highly recommend Sandy as your sitter and I’d gladly use her services again.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 368 sitters on Rover offering Cat Sitting across Verde. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Verde. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
