Miki was AMAZING with my adult dog Moose. She was welcoming and friendly and communicated extremely well. She sent us updates throughout the day and was very responsive. She walked my dog and took care of him like he was her own pet! She made him comfortable and he isn’t easy to trust right away but with Miki and her family Moose seemed to feel right at home. We booked her for day care 2 days, back to back, and Moose seemed excited to go back! I hope she’s available next time we need a sitter because she will be the first person that comes to mind. Thank you Miki! We appreciate you so much 😄

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all the way! We were initially very nervous at the thought of needing to find a sitter for our 11mo old Aussies as we’ve always taken them with us when traveling. But on our first go, we found Niccola who was incredible, so accommodating, kind, and had so much love for our crazy boys. They felt at home with her right away. We could tell they had a blast during their first daycare stay as they were completely wiped for the rest of the night. We’re so grateful to have found such a trustworthy, caring person as our go-to sitter!

About: To stay busy as a child, I walked and house sat practically the entire neighborhood’s beloved pet. Summer days were filled with miles of dog walking adventures with a dedicated cabinet to keep the hundreds of house keys safe. Even now, as a working professional, I can’t imagine my routine without it! Morning exercise, breaks throughout the day, and evening walks are a perfect time for animal care sessions. Having a sister who is a vet, I am only a quick call away from an expert diagnosis if ever necessary. I have piece of mind knowing assistance is close and years of experience keeping animals happy and safe. I am currently enrolled in Cal Poly’s Master’s program for Biomedical Engineering, which is completely virtual this quarter and likely next. This allows for a very flexible schedule with frequent study breaks for pet walks or visits. The remote lessons even allow me to listen to lectures while with your pet in your home for extended pet company. My house is close to the bike path and terrace hill for the perfect pet excursion sure to leave them tired and happy. I love running to accommodate the high energy animals as well as the leisurely hike for those who are slowing down or prefer a casual sniff around.

Katie is amazing! She had a wonderful first day with our pup Jack. She is very warm and professional, and an obvious dog-lover! Jack felt right at home and he loved spending the day with her and sweet Sumi. Katie was very responsive and she sent pics and updates throughout the day. She took Jack out for walks and treated him like he was her own fur-baby. We will definitely be using Katie again for watching Jack. We all loved her!

About: I grew up with dogs my whole life, and have always been a big dog lover of all shapes, sizes, and breeds! I frequently pet-sit for my friends and family, including exuberant young puppies, gentle older dogs, cautious reactive dogs, and anything in between. I love to play with and walk dogs at their own pace and preference, and am happy to help support and reinforce your training plans and pet rules. I have been an elementary teacher for just over a decade and am taking some time off, so my schedule is very flexible, and I would love to fill it with helping care for dogs in our community! I know it can be hard to leave pets at home for work or social events, but rest assured that with me your pet is in loving and safe hands so you can work, play, and enjoy life without worrying about your furry friend. After teaching for over a decade, I am taking some time off and would love to fill it with caring for pets to help others in my community! I have a very flexible schedule and am available to visit, walk, and care for pets on weekdays between 8 and 6. I can also be available on weekends with prior arrangement. I grew up with dogs and pet-sit often for my friends and family. I have a fenced-in yard and live in a quiet, very walkable neighborhood. I am also a close driving distance to many parks, including the Laguna Lake dog park. I am happy to drive within the Central Coast area to visit, play with, and walk your beloved pup as well!

Paul was fabulous with our energetic rescue dog Rocky (the rocket). While we were on vacation in Pismo Beach, Paul watched Rocky all day for a couple days. He exercised and loved on Rocky for many hours, which gave us free time to be tourists in the area. We will definitely see if he's available again in the future, when we're back in the area. We highly recommend Paul for doggy daycare in the area. Rocky had a wonderful time. Thanks Paul!

About: Your dog is as much an individual as you are and we are here to help your puppies to have exactly the experience that they need. I am a life long dog lover and have had many dogs over the years (work travel prevents me from ownership right now). Over the years my household (me, adult son, grand daughter (6)) have adopted or fostered a wide variety of dogs from a puppy to be trained and moved on to forever home to senior dogs who ultimately ended up with their forever home right here. I am excellent at giving medication (was a LPN for humans), long walks that I enjoy as much as the dog, and am open to any dog related service your dog may need. I will always treat your dog like the wonderful individual they are. I am open to any size dog and ANY breed (I have great relationships with pit bulls, Chihuahua's, and other high difficulty breads) All dogs must have flee control and be up on vaccinations (and licensed). I was reading the Rover information for customers and it said you should ask about how much cuddle time, playtime, and walks cost. Your pet will get all the cuddles, walks, and playtime they can stand for free. I do this because everybody in my house loves dogs and want to make new furry friends. Feel free to contact me with any questions I am a work from home writer, artist, photographer, and journalist, so I have lots of open time. I do travel for work in the summer months which does leave some days completely unavailable, but otherwise ready to walk from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. There is no other way to say it, I love dogs and will treat your dog with more respect than most humans receive. The walks will be well planned and any care will be exactly what you requested.

About: Every creature I meet - from fuzzy, waggy, purry fluff balls to mysterious little pocket-sized critters - is an adventure waiting to happen. I greet each one with sparkling excitement and big-hearted curiosity and love. 🏡🐶🐱 Due to remote working, I’m always here for your animal!! Animals at my house get the luxury of having interaction at their paws 🐾 Animals know I understand their secret frequency. My patience, gentleness, and playful spirit make them feel like they've found their long-lost best friend. I’ve had animals by my side my whole life, which is probably why I’m basically an animal whisperer at this point. They sense my intuition — that soft, instinctive way I know exactly what they need, whether it's a snack, a cuddle, or something else. Animals aren't just pets. They're honorary members of my family; my tiny roommates with fur. My home is their kingdom; my heart is their cozy lounge. Where I go, animals follow — because they know I’m the kind of human who truly gets them. I don’t just fit animals into my schedule — I weave them into my day. My routine is delightfully flexible, perfectly shaped to welcome paws. My schedule is flexible and intuitive, allowing me to build in regular check-ins, feeding times, walks, and play sessions without stress or disruption. I move through my tasks with patience, intuition, and a sprinkle of magic — knowing exactly when a dog needs an extra trot around the block or when a cat needs a dramatic feather-toy performance. Animals slip into my schedule so naturally you’d think they helped design it. To every pet I care for, I’m the whimsical guardian who arrives right when they need me — the keeper of routines, the bringer of fun, and the human who makes their day just a little more sparkly. Safety begins with awareness, consistency, and preparation. When caring for an animal, I create a space where their physical well-being is always the first priority. That means secure environments (no open doors if they are not allowed out, hazardous items, or unsafe spaces), proper handling, and mindful supervision during walks, play, or feeding. I pay attention to their routines, health cues, and comfort levels, making sure they’re protected from stress, danger, or anything unfamiliar that could overwhelm them. A safe animal is a relaxed animal — and I make that possible. A good environment is one that supports an animal’s emotional and physical needs. I create spaces that feel safe, comfortable, and full of enrichment — spots for quiet rest, opportunities for play, and room to explore without fear. My presence makes the environment even better: calm, welcoming, and filled with positive interactions. Whether the animal is staying in my home or I’m in theirs, I make sure their surroundings feel familiar, soothing, and full of the little comforts that help them thrive.

About: Animal lover here. I’ve had pets all my life and have taken care of pets for the day, and for people on extended vacation. Animals are not left at my home alone. I can take trips to the beach or park as long as the owners are comfortable with that. Pets sleep inside the home with me. I can pick up and/or drop off for a small extra fee. I’m currently a stay at home mom with two teen boys. I have plenty of time to give your pets the attention they need while you are away. Focus will be on keeping your pets happy. I will be playing with your pets inside and outside to keep them happy and busy while you are away. I will modify to any needs your dog may have. Again, I never leave dogs I am watching home alone.

About: I’ve spent 10+ years caring for dogs and cats, and they’ve always been the loves of my life. I share my home with three amazing dogs and have also had a cat, so I understand the unique needs and personalities of each pet. I’ve cared for tiny pups to dogs over 100 lbs, as well as seniors needing extra patience and love. I’m comfortable with basic training, administering oral medications, and keeping pets calm and happy when their people are away. Your pets will be treated like family because to me, they are. Pet care is naturally part of my daily life. I’m always walking, playing, or snuggling with my own dogs. I work part-time, so I have plenty of flexibility to help with walks, drop-ins, or boarding. Similarly, I only take online classes so I have a free time to care for your pups. Weekdays after work and weekends are wide open, making it easy to give your pets the love and attention they deserve. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. In your home, I follow your routine exactly - from feeding schedules to walk times - to keep your pet happy and stress-free. In my home, pets are treated like family and have a calm, loving environment with plenty of space to relax and play.

Absolutely amazing care by Miki and her husband, and kids. We have 2 pretty energetic pups and one in particular that take some time to warm up and feel comfortable. By pick up time they both seemed happy and tired from all the play with their pups. I would 100% trust them all again with our pups and I'm sure they would love staying for another visit!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 199 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Verde. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Verde commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 199 sitters in Verde, 91% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
