“Rene was so great! We did a meet and greet beforehand and it was obvious she would be a great pet sitter! Her home is very nice and the dogs loved it. We will definitely be using her again and highly recommend!”

“Xavier was so wonderful with our two dogs. He made us feel at ease and our dogs loved him! They were so happy to be there and we’ll definitely be using him again.”

“Another great stay with Greg for my pup, Baloo! He had a super fun time… I could tell by the updates and pics from Greg, which are much appreciated, and based off how fast he fell asleep when we picked him up. 🥰”

“My two little Chihuahuas had an amazing time with Melissa. They looked so happy and relaxed in every picture update I received during their stay. Many of the pictures Melissa sent were collages of all the fun things they were up to, which I thought was very cool! 😁 They got plenty of belly rubs, cuddles, playtime, and treats. Melissa was so sweet and communicative, and I would have Jaime and Cersei stay with her again any time. Peace of mind is a huge thing for me when it comes to my fur babies, and I was positive they were in the best of hands with Melissa. Thank you so much!”

“Maverick just enjoyed another great stay with Bob and Sharon. It is a relief to have found someone that spoils him like he would be at home. We will continue to use them as long as they keep sitting!”

“My dogs looked like they thoroughly enjoyed their stay. The living environment had me us a bit skeptical at first (we have Alaska dogs still adjusting to the heat of Arizona) but the open yard and climate controlled sleeping area was great. Jeremy was very accommodating to my fluctuating schedule for pick up and sent a few status photos. Thank you again!”

“So glad to have found Diana. It was so nice to find someone who could provide a safe and calm environment for our dog and she took great care of her. Great communication and sent us updates with pictures which was appreciated!”

“Josephs lack of reviews is a true shame. Luckily that could never deter me from giving someone a try. I knew from his profile that he was dedicated to fur babies and I was right. My pup warmed up to him so fast because Joseph is a kind, loving, and super fun uncle to all the kids! I fear my dog may not have missed me for a second while I was away lol. He is extremely accommodating to both my dog and I. My girl is 10 but still young at heart and he definitely allowed her to show him who she was! The way he interacted and played with her in the videos he sent just melted my heart. 10 out of 10 choose Joseph but try to leave time for me to book again. I’m sure my girl feels like he is officially in her pack and we need him!”

“Daisy stayed with Matia for a second time and again had a great visit! Matia sent daily photos and video and was having a great time. Daisy came home happy and healthy!!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Gina. She’s reliable, trustworthy, and truly caring. She treats my dogs like her own. They always come home happy and well cared for. She’s my first choice every time and I highly recommend her!”

“Jackie was so wonderful with my two pups. We got lots of photos daily. You can tell she really loves dogs - your pups will be well taken care of and loved on with Jackie!”
About: We know leaving your dog behind can be stressful, so our goal is to make them feel like they’re on vacation too! We only host one family’s dog(s) at a time, so your pup will receive our full attention in a calm, loving home—never a crowded doggy daycare environment. We’re a family of four who genuinely loves dogs. Our 11-year-old son enjoys playing fetch, going for walks, and giving plenty of affection, while our 12-year-old daughter loves working on basic training and teaching fun tricks (with your approval, of course!). My husband, Justin, and I have always been dog lovers. After losing our beloved dog, Rev, this past February, our home has felt a little quieter. While we’re not quite ready to welcome another dog of our own, we’d love the opportunity to care for and spoil yours as if they were part of our family. I work from home, so your dog will have companionship throughout the day and won’t be left alone for long stretches. We also have a sweet senior cat, so we’re looking for dogs that are comfortable around cats or have lived with them before. Whether your pup loves playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply a quiet place to relax, we’ll tailor their stay to help them feel safe, comfortable, and loved until you’re home again. I work from home so your pup will have company most of the day. When the kids get home from school you can expect a lot of loving and play time. We have a fenced yard, pool (no fence), and a crate we can offer if your dog prefers to be crated at night or if we leave periodically throughout the day
“Our experience with Lacey and her family caring for our white lab Bhodi was exceptional. This was the first time we ever had a non family member watch our dog. At the meet and greet it was apparent that these people genuinely love dogs and treat them like family. That immediately put us at ease. We also valued their commitment and attention to details. Their house and backyard are very pet friendly. We could tell Bhodi was happy to be there. We received pictures every day of Bhodi. Lacey and family get our highest recommendation. We hope they will be available for our next trip.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Carefree
Brenda did a great job watching our dog for over a week. She was fantastic with accommodating our dog the entire time - from letting us do a meet and greet to managing her medication schedule, she was very trustworthy and kept our dog safe and happy while we were out of town. She even let our dog sleep on her bed. She also sent pictures/updates throughout and was very responsive whenever we reached out to her. She went out of her way to make the drop off and pick up process a breeze for us, which was really appreciated. We will definitely use Brenda the next time we need a dog sitter. Thank you Brenda!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
