“Katherine and Tanner hosted our 10 year old golden retriever. It was a wonderful experience not only for our dog, but also us. We received daily pictures and feedback. It was clear our dog was being incorporated to their family playtime, just like he would be at home. When I picked him up, he did not seemed stressed or exhausted from worry about being separated from us. I felt that their family truly enjoyed watching our dog. Katherine and Tanner will be my first choice in the future for hosting our pup!”

“We left our Niko for two nights in the care of Mellanie and she was sending us pictures and responding to us immediately. She was very kind in adapting to our schedule and coming to drop Niko off at our house. We will definitely trust her to take care of Niko again.”

“Greg is fantastic! He was reliable, easy to communicate with, and took great care of our dog. I really enjoyed the updates. My dog usually has anxiety but I picked up a happy, relaxed pup. Highly recommend!”

“Xavier was so wonderful with our two dogs. He made us feel at ease and our dogs loved him! They were so happy to be there and we’ll definitely be using him again.”

“I was nervous leaving my older dog over the holidays but I was almost immediately at ease after dropping him off with Menaj. She was so welcoming, kind and gentle with him. She sent pictures frequently and I saw him splooting, rolling around and following her around the house—like he does at home. A sure sign that he was comfortable and well cared for. He’s a picky eater and she was patient with him. She had other dogs but not too many and there’s plenty of room for them. I highly recommend.”

“My dog had a wonderful time with Elizabeth P and her family. I received multiple photos of my dog doing his favorite things so I know he felt comfortable. The next time I need someone to watch my dog we will definitely check with Elizabeth P first.”
“Ben and Zane went above and beyond to keep us informed how our babies during their stay. We received photos daily most days 2-3x as well as updates on how they adjusted to the temporary environment. Which I must say is a Doggie Oasis, I highly suggest the B&Z doggie Oasis to anyone. We were able to book for a weekend last minute without a snag!”

“Junyeong and June were amazing with my girl Bailey. They sent picture and video updates to show how comfortable Bailey was during her time. I would highly recommend them and will use them again next time I need a sitter.”

“Amber and Ryan were amazing with my old, blind man Uno while we were gone for a quick trip to California for Soccer for the kids. They gave updates, photos and videos to highlight Uno’s time with them. Thank you for taking care of him like one of your own!”
“Jayme is incredible!! Most trustworthy and responsible dog sitter ever, she gives you peace of mind which is priceless! We will always book Jayme if she is available, thank you so much!!”

“Kevin was an excellent dog sitter for our 10 year old GS. His dog, Izzy is so calm and sweet and our dogs did very well together. Kevin’s communication was very prompt and thorough. It is very clear that he genuinely loves dogs and takes the responsibility of caring for your pet seriously. He sent us a pic of our dog every day along with a quick note on her wellbeing and what she was up to. We loved getting these updates that reassured us that she was settling in with him and Izzy. Kevin even went the extra mile for us and dropped off our dog and her things at our home to meet our daughter who needed to drive to Oro Valley after a long flight. We will not hesitate to book with Kevin again. He has a nice tidy home, is a great communicator, professional, caring and witty. Thank you so much!”

“Its the first time my dog was in boading with Esma. Looks like my dog learned some good manners :) She came home happy. Esma shared some pic during the stay.”

“Matia was an excellent sitter! Very communicative and kind to our girl, Ocky. We were nervous as this was our first time using rover for our girl, but Matia definitely put us at ease! She had plenty of toys/ space and was very conscious of any routines, diet, exercise etc that we preferred. Would recommend!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for as long as I can remember. My mom bred dogs while I was growing up, so I was involved in their daily care from a young age. I helped feed, groom, socialize, exercise, and care for puppies and adult dogs, giving me hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. As an adult, I’ve continued to care for pets for family and friends and understand the importance of providing a safe, loving, and reliable environment. I am a Registered Nurse and currently work only three days per week, which allows me to have a flexible schedule and spend plenty of quality time with the pets in my care. My husband works from home full-time, so there is typically someone available throughout the day to provide supervision, companionship, potty breaks, playtime, and attention. Our home is located in a gated community, providing an added level of safety and security. We have a fenced backyard where dogs can safely go outside for fresh air, potty breaks, and supervised playtime. Pets staying with us will spend most of their time indoors with the family, receiving plenty of attention, companionship, and exercise.
“Ryan is an amazing dog sitter! He took excellent care of my pup Beau, and I could see the genuine connection between them. Ryan goes above and beyond, taking Beau on hikes, runs, and plenty of walks. The communication is fantastic, with regular updates and photos. I highly recommend Ryan for anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. Beau came back happy and tired - a sign of a great time! Thank you, Ryan!”

“Heidi was wonderful with my pups and helped them feel comfortable in her home. I will definitely take my girls to stay with her again. She shared photos and videos during their stay.”

“I would give Ginny and Andrew more stars if I could. What amazing dog sitters they are! They are such nice people, and they treated our dogs like they were their own. Their daughters were wonderful with out dogs too! We highly recommend them!”

“Alison was AMAZING! Our two dogs have some separation issues and she took such good care of them!! When we left they even ran to her to say goodbye! HIGHLY RECOMMEND”

“Shahla was absolutely amazing. From the very beginning, she was professional, communicative, and genuinely caring. You can tell she truly loves animals and treats them like her own. She kept me updated with pictures and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. My dog came back happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. The attention to detail and level of responsibility she showed really stood out. It’s not easy trusting someone with your pet, but Shahla made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. I would 100% book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone dependable, kind, and attentive. Thank you again, Shahla — you’re the best!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Carefree
Brenda did a great job watching our dog for over a week. She was fantastic with accommodating our dog the entire time - from letting us do a meet and greet to managing her medication schedule, she was very trustworthy and kept our dog safe and happy while we were out of town. She even let our dog sleep on her bed. She also sent pictures/updates throughout and was very responsive whenever we reached out to her. She went out of her way to make the drop off and pick up process a breeze for us, which was really appreciated. We will definitely use Brenda the next time we need a dog sitter. Thank you Brenda!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
