“Christina does a wonderful job caring for our dog Cookie! We get adorable pictures and updates daily and Cookie has the best time! It’s such a relief to not worry about our fur baby when we’re out of town!”

“Xavier was extremely personable and kind from start to finish! You just KNOW he’s a dog lover. Highly recommended! If you’re looking for a caring, professional that communicates exceptionally, look no further!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Gina. She’s reliable, trustworthy, and truly caring. She treats my dogs like her own. They always come home happy and well cared for. She’s my first choice every time and I highly recommend her!”

“My husband and I would like to express our appreciation to The Rover program. Without this great service we would have never met Bill and Debbie! They are now our official dogs sitters and the our pups- 2nd home! We are so Thankful! 🙏 Leaving our 2 dogs for 2 weeks was much easier than we expected. We give thanks to this wonderful couple, neighbors and new friends. They did provided a truly great atmosphere and daily loving care. Sharing videos, pictures and daily messages went a long way for us. Knowing that are dogs were eating well says it ALL. 👍 They were happy and content because they walked them several times per day! Plus, Following our instructions on their care is so note worthy. They allowed us to enjoy our trip with a real sense of peace. They met all our expectations by providing excellent and caring hands for our pups. We would definitely recommend this special couple to care for your fur babies! Blessings to all! Truly, The Johnson’s”

“So glad to have found Diana. It was so nice to find someone who could provide a safe and calm environment for our dog and she took great care of her. Great communication and sent us updates with pictures which was appreciated!”

“I was nervous leaving my older dog over the holidays but I was almost immediately at ease after dropping him off with Menaj. She was so welcoming, kind and gentle with him. She sent pictures frequently and I saw him splooting, rolling around and following her around the house—like he does at home. A sure sign that he was comfortable and well cared for. He’s a picky eater and she was patient with him. She had other dogs but not too many and there’s plenty of room for them. I highly recommend.”

“Another awesome weekend visit to Gregory's for our pup! We got updates and pictures daily, and even a few videos of her playing! She looked relaxed and happy, and we just know she had a great time which helps us have a great time too! Thanks so much Gregory, we'll be back in a few weeks!”

“Our dog loves Elizabeths home. Our third time there. Such a great yard to run in and her dog is ultra-friendly. Great communication too. Top notch Rover!”

“Keisha (and her children) took great care of my baby girl Raven. Highly recommend and will book her again.. She was very responsive to my messages and even sent a photo of my pet when I was missing her.”

“Great experience! Our Tutu seemed very happy, and it's nice because Jennifer keeps only one dog at a time along with her own two dogs. So, whatever guest dog is staying gets plenty of attention. Also very accommodating when we were late because of an accident. Will definitely use again.”

“Toby came back a happy pup. I was at ease our whole trip knowing he would have a great time with the kiddos and all the attention he got. I received daily communication and pics : )”

“Shahla was absolutely wonderful. First and foremost, she took great care of Porkchop for over two weeks. Beyond that, she was so easy to work with, was responsive and thoughtful, and kindly accommodated some changes we had to make with our booking and coordinating drop-offs. I recommend Shahla and will book with her again.”
“Everything was wonderful. We were really nervous to leave Gertie (because we hadn’t ever) and Eric was just awesome. He understood completely and sent us pictures and communicated with us regularly. We have another trip soon and we have already booked another visit.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Jeremy and his family! They have given us such a peace of mind when traveling and have been extremely accommodating and have made the process so easy when dropping off and picking our pups up. Highly recommend!”

“Kelli took great care if our little fur babies while we were out of town. She was very attentive, patient, and compassionate. We will be very happy to leave our pups with her in the future. She and her family are wonderful.”

“Kimberley and Deanna are fabulous, kind, experienced and knowledgeable. They have worked with many rescues so they have worked with many animals who aren’t your typical house pets, and know how to handle problems if they come up. My kitty baby was an abused rescue and after meeting them I was confident he would be safe with them. First time in 8 years he has left my home. So rather traumatic. He’s back now and sailed thru with flying colors due to their care. I can solidly recommend them. Rover, the company I’m fairly peeved with. My registering had a problem that I was up the entire night attempting to solve. The computer was actually more helpful than the people I attempted to use chat with who only kept repeating the same rote phrase that didn’t solve anything and took several hours for the first reply. Rover has absolutely no way to directly contact a live person by phone when a critical problem is not being solved. I Had to have my cat settled by 7 am or I would have no place to put him safely in this very warm heat while management bombed the apartment complex. Rover has some work to do on customer service backup when their rote systems don’t work. This was NOT a fun experience not to mention tinged with desperation and no time left for alternative solutions after I had list my previous solution at the last minute.”

“Tommy is great! Roscoe loves going to her home and playing with her dog. Nice environment and well cared for, dependable and easy to work with. I never felt anxious about leaving him for 2 weeks, she sent photos and videos to keep in touch. Thank you so much!”

“Terry is hands down the best sitter I’ve ever booked with! From the very beginning, her communication was warm, prompt, and professional. She sent me the most adorable pictures and regular updates that gave me total peace of mind while I was away. It was so reassuring to know that Mahina was not only being well cared for but also genuinely loved. Terry went above and beyond in every way making sure Mahina was happy, comfortable, and sticking to her routine. It’s clear that she has a deep love for animals and truly understands their needs. I could tell right away that Mahina felt safe and relaxed around her, which means the world to me. I honestly can’t say enough good things about Terry. She’s kind, responsible, attentive, and an absolute joy to work with. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Heidi was amazing! I felt so comfortable leaving my dog and cat to stay with her and her daughter! She was so on top of everything and prepared when I dropped them off and picked them up. Would absolutely recommend and will be asking her to watch my pets again!”

“Kristin was absolutely amazing!! I’m such an anxious mom usually but I was able to go on vacation without a single worry. She was communicative and sent pictures and videos consistently. Will 100% book again. Thank you!! 🫶”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
