“My previous sitter canceled my booking last minute but Randy helped me out. Thank you so much!!!! He gave us updates on how Milo is doing. I highly recommend Randy and his family.”

“She’s definitely a dog person, I have one little stinker in my bunch and he didn’t even bark at her at all when I arrived which Is rare, she sent photos and my dogs were definitely taken care of!”

“Once again Nicole took excellent care of our Max. It was his first overnight week away from home. He and Winston played from sun up to sun down; he had a fantastic vacation. Thank you Nicole!!”

“She took great care of my dog and provided regular photos and updates, which I really appreciated. It was clear she paid attention to his personality and made sure he was comfortable. I had a great experience and will definitely book with her again.”

“Jeremy and his family were great! My pup was in good hands and got lots of exercise as they have a nice field for your pup to run around. My only recommendation is to bring a bed for your pup maybe, as their air conditioning unit for the pups is solid flooring. Definitely will be using Jeremy in the future!”

“My first experience dropping off my buddy, Kitsune, to stay at a Rover home for a few days. Richard was great with updates & photos and understanding of our changing travel plans. He made Kit a part of the family for the weekend.”

“John and his family did a great job taking care of Axel and making her feel right at home. I loved all of the pictures of Axel having fun and loving her best life! I can’t thank them enough.”

“Boni did a great job caring for our fickle, female Westie. Boni kept trying different food combinations to get Snowie to eat. She was very flexible with drop-off and pick-up times, as well. A great sitting experience for both us and Snowie.”

“Diana is very professional and reliable. She has a big yard that my dog enjoyed. She provided updates and pictures and I really appreciated the fact that she walked my dog every day and kept her active! I would 100% recommend. I felt very comfortable with her.”

“Michele is literally the best. My pups felt very comfortable when arriving. She sent pictures and updates on how they were doing which I loved. I was really relieved they were in good hands while I went on vacation.”

“Lorena watched my corgi for a night. She communicated well, her home is clean, she has a backyard for the dogs, and both her and her husband work from home. I would recommend Lorena for boarding your fur babies.”

“My puppy had a wonderful time with Kelli and her dogs. She is still learning but was able to get along with the other girls and I came back to a happy girl”

“Thank you for taking such good care of our boys! We received regular photo updates and our dogs had so much fun on their farm property! Highly recommend Laura and her family.”

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kaitlin. She watched our 150 lb cane corso Bruce and cared for him like he was family. Bruce fell in love with her and Koko from the start and it made my heart happy that he was in a warm and loving home while we were away. Kaitlin’s communication was excellent and I loved all the daily updates and photos I received from her! Even when my large dog took over her bed for naps 😂 Kaitlin is very knowledgeable about dogs and their behavior and even did some training with our big guy during his stay. I whole heartedly recommend Kaitlin to anyone looking for a pet sitter. She is truly the best!”

About: Hi! I’m a dedicated animal lover and experienced pet caregiver with a home full of personality including my two Shar-Peis (Dior and Hercules) and two tortoises(Cleo and Franklin). Caring for my special needs Shar-Pei Hercules has taught me patience, attentiveness, and how important individualized care is for every pet. I know pets are family, and I treat every animal with the same love, safety, and attention I give my own. Whether your pet loves playtime, cuddles, routine, or extra patience, I’m committed to making them feel comfortable, happy, and cared for while you’re away. I work part-time (8 days per month), which allows me to dedicate a large portion of my time to pet care. My daily routine already revolves around caring for my own pets, including two Shar-Peis—one with special needs—and two tortoises. Because of this, I’m experienced in maintaining consistent schedules, providing attentive supervision, and adapting care based on each animal’s individual needs. I’m able to offer dependable, flexible care and give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. Your pet’s comfort, safety, and happiness are my top priorities. I provide a loving, calm, and attentive environment where pets are treated like family. I understand that every animal has different needs, personalities, and routines, and I make it a priority to follow their schedule as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. In my home, pets receive plenty of attention, supervised play, potty breaks, exercise, and affection. I have experience caring for my own two Shar-Peis, including one with special needs, which has taught me patience, awareness, and the importance of individualized care. I also care for two tortoises, giving me experience with animals beyond dogs as well. I’m attentive to behavior, eating habits, and overall comfort, and I’m happy to follow any feeding, medication, or care instructions you provide. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and at home while giving you peace of mind while you’re away.
“This is our second time with Kathren and Steven. We received pictures of the dogs--that was great! they took great care with our 'babies' and would highly recommend them to others.”

“Kelly is so caring and took amazing care of our Toby. She was super responsive and flexible with us as we had a family emergency at the drop-off time and horrible traffic at the return time. I would strongly recommend Kelly to other dog owners that want a loving, caring home for boarding or daycare.”

“Myron and his wife are wonderful hosts. We have boarded our dogs twice with them now and both times they have shown amazing care for our two dogs. Their daily updates with photos and videos put us at ease to know our dogs were in good hands. Both times our dogs have come back home incredibly calm and even better behaved. They will always be our first choice for any future bookings. We highly recommend them!”

“Toby came back a happy pup. I was at ease our whole trip knowing he would have a great time with the kiddos and all the attention he got. I received daily communication and pics : )”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - New River
This was Matcha’s second stay with Wanny, and once again she was amazing! She kept us updated with lots of photos and videos and took wonderful care of Matcha. We especially appreciated her patience, attention to detail, and flexibility when our flight was delayed. We’re so grateful that Matcha has such a caring sitter (and a friend in Mellow!). We would absolutely book with her again!

Wanny was absolutely wonderful with Matcha! She sent us frequent updates, along with so many beautiful photos and videos (honestly better than the ones we take ourselves!) It gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Matcha is still a young puppy, and she was incredibly patient and understanding with him. She kept a close eye on his playtime, made sure he was comfortable, and clearly put a lot of care and attention into his routine. When we picked Matcha up, he looked happy, healthy, and well cared for. We truly appreciate everything Wanny did for him and would absolutely book with her again in the future. Highly recommend! 🐶✨

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AZ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
