About: My name is Jana and I am a big time animal lover! I grew up with alaskan malamutes, hermit crabs, freshwater fish, and currently have 2 cats (Mactavish and Charley). I have experience with dogs and cats of all ages and sizes, with specifics in senior and large dogs. I currently am on summer break and not working, so my availability is open and super flexible! I am free from 7am-8pm Sunday-Friday! Because I have cats that live at my home, I cannot offer boarding. However, I am happy to do drop-ins at your home. I am always very respectful of the places I visit and can offer whatever care your pet needs.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, big and small alike all my life. I grew up with a boxer and a golden retriever in the home so I’m accustomed to the joy of having pets in the house. More recently I’ve pet sat for families who have homes in Europe, and would go visit during the holidays. I’ve been caring for this elderly dog in particular for over 10 years. He’s a sweet tempered dog but takes medicine everyday so I’ve become well adept at hiding his meds inconspicuously to get him to eat it without any problems. I also love working with puppies and find that caring for younger dogs is a lot of fun, and is exciting too! I love aussies, border collies, and spaniels but find that I can get along with just about any breed. I’m the type of person to always stop to ask to pet your dog on walks, and love showering dogs with affection and love. One of my favorite past times, is letting a dog run free off leash, and play frisbee with him or her. I’d love to provide loving, friendly, and fun care to your furry friend and I look forward to our first paw-shake! Currently in school, but available after and before classes start-and free on weekends! I’m in school, but I have plenty of time to run around and meet your pets. I would look forward to days pet sitting, or walking, and would love to meet you and your pets! I care for pets mainly in your home, I find it easiest because some pets can get flustered in new environments. I strive to get to know them and build trust by being in their home turf to see all their favorite toys, and where they feel most comfortable. I look forward to seeing how they play and grow at their most comfortable!

With years of experience across breeds and ages, I offer walks, play, feeding, medication management, and peace of mind through photo updates and open communication. Available for in-home visits or boarding in a loving, secure environment. I'm currently working PT and have time in early morning and evening to walk dogs and care for cats. I'm usually home by 3pm every day so I will have plenty of time to socialize with your pets. My place is a duplex with a fenced yard and 2 bedrooms, so your pet can stay in their own room. About: I have been caring for my 13 year old dog, Molly, for 11 years. I am also an active volunteer at the county animal shelter, working with dogs (1,000+ hours) and cats (400+ hours). I have a special place in my heart for dogs with behavioral and medical needs, and working with them at the shelter has taught me patience and skills that help to make the animals more comfortable. I also have training in puppy care, senior dog care, walking leash-sensitive dogs, and caring for injured animals. The time I get to spend with dogs is the most fun I have doing anything, and I take a lot of pride in caring for them with the appropriate level of attention and patience they need. I work remotely and have a flexible schedule, so I am available to walk and care dogs at a variety of hours. The length of walks is up to you and your dog-- I am happy to do short walks or longer outings depending on what you need! I am happy to refer you to references (animal shelter staff and volunteers) who can attest to my dog-handling skills and my ability to work with dogs from a variety of backgrounds. The safety of your pet and your home always come first, and I am very comfortable taking any steps needed to ensure that everything goes smoothly.

About: I have gained experience from raising and caring for my first dog from a puppy to a full sized Yellow Labrador retriever. I have also gained experience from caring and training my family rescue dog. He was also a Labrador and large sized dog. Additionally, I have experience with smaller dogs. For example, I have taken care of my best friend’s two Yorkies many times. I will set alarms for feeding times, give your pet proper attention, groom if needed, and make sure they are going to the restroom regularly. I am currently working from home in San Francisco. I am an early riser and my availability is reflected in my calendar, which I update daily! I have a decent sized apartment, I am located near a couple great parks, and a super walkable safe area perfect for spending time with your pet!

About: Caring for pets has always been more than just a job for me—it's a passion. Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. From playful puppies learning their first commands to senior dogs needing extra patience and care, I understand the unique attention each stage of life requires. What sets me apart from other sitters is my personalized approach. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, preferences, and routine so they feel safe and comfortable in my care. I’m experienced with basic puppy training, leash manners, and crate training. For older pets, I provide gentle, attentive support—whether that means administering medication, helping with mobility, or simply offering lots of love and companionship. I believe communication is key, so I always keep pet parents updated with photos and notes to ensure peace of mind while you're away. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I work in IT from home, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to be available throughout the day for pet care. Whether it’s regular walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping your pet company, I can easily fit their needs into my daily routine. When caring for pets in your home, I treat your space—and your pet—with the same respect and attention I give my own. I follow your routines closely, whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, medication, or house rules, to keep your dog comfortable and stress-free. I understand how important trust is when someone enters your home, and I always communicate clearly, keep things tidy, and send regular updates so you feel at ease while you're away. Your pet’s safety and comfort come first. I pay close attention to their behavior and needs, and I’m happy to accommodate special requests or routines to help them feel secure. Whether your dog needs quiet companionship, active playtime, or just a calm presence while you're gone, I provide reliable, loving care every time.

About: Hi everyone! My name is Yu (yes, pronounced exactly like "You"!). Originally from Japan, I bring that classic Japanese dedication and hard-working spirit to everything I do—especially when it comes to dog care! Dogs are my absolute passion, and my heart completely melts whenever I'm around them. I don't own a dog of my own right now, but I live with a sweet housemate who has a friendly dog. This means our home is already set up perfectly for a pup, and your dog will have a furry friend to hang out with if they like company! I am so excited to be a dedicated temporary "mommy" (or cool auntie!) for your dog and treat them like royalty. What I promise: • Constant supervision and a safe, secure environment. • Lots of playtime, walks, and tailored care based on your dog's routine. • Regular photo/video updates so you can have total peace of mind. Looking forward to meeting your sweet pup soon! 🎁 Save $20 on your first booking! Use code YUR04253 or visit: https://www.rover.com/sit/yur04253 i'm currently not working. so i have plenty of time to play with your pups! my partner can look after your pups while i'm away too. our routine is : in the morning(7am) and evening(6pm) we walk for 15-20min, during the day(11am-2pm) for 1-2h, and before bed quick potty break(10pm). we can easily adjust time schedule for your dogs. when we go out we take your doggies as many as possible, so more than 4times a day is guarantee. i can board them pretty much any days. *your doggies must be ok with being alone max for3h sometimes when we can't take them out with us. if your dog bark or whine more than necessary, our town house is not good fit for them. (it's more for quiet neighbors) our place is in a town house, has a dog field across street. we love cuddling and sleeping together:) if your dogs need own space, we respect that too. We accept more than 2 dogs at same time.

About: As a massage therapist for over 25 years, I have worked on horses, cats, and dogs as well as people. I include FREE therapeutic massage to pets I care for. I've always had a dog and have been very honored to work with and care for dogs. I have owned and worked with dominant breed dogs, sharing with their owners how to support best behavior when asked. I understand canine psychology and genuinely love dogs. When I work, it's online via Zoom so I am available to be physically present for your animal(s) 100%. I am an avid hiker/ walker and I'm up early. I enjoy playing with and giving them attention. I have a calm presence which puts animals at ease, yet I understand how to manage challenging behaviors, should they arise. I follow your requests and preferences. I walk dogs early and usually at least twice a day. I maintain awareness and listen for signs to take them outside to go potty or walk, allowing them to sniff around. Once dogs realize I'm a 'pack leader' they usually feel more safe and challenges disappear. Right now I am not able to have a dog in my home. Thank you for sharing your fur-baby with me while you are away.

Shylynn took wonderful care of my sweet shy cat while I was away for four days. She sent lots of great pictures with her daily updates, and it was reassuring to see him having fun and making a new friend. He was calm and happy when I got home. She also very considerately took initiative to water my plants because the weather had been hot. I hope to have Shylynn take care of him again the next time I need a sitter.

We LOVE Melanie! As former pet sitters ourselves, our standards are pretty high— none of the other Rover sitters we’d tried in the past had quite met them until Melanie! We unexpectedly had to delay our trip by a day because we got sick. Melanie promptly accommodated this change and sent along such a thoughtful message. We knew right away we were dealing with a true professional! Melanie’s attentiveness stood out right from our meet-and-greet.  She didn't just ask what our cats' favorite toys were—she asked how they each liked to play with their toys. We showed Melanie our cat Plum's exercise wheel and mentioned that her favorite way to use it is with someone jogging alongside her. We never expected a sitter to adopt our silly little routine, but Melanie jogged next to her at every visit! It was no surprise to hear that Plum was greeting Melanie at the door and rubbing against her for pets by the end of our time away. Our other cat, Lyra, is a little more wary of new people, but Melanie is extremely well versed in cat body language and boundaries, and took that into account when interacting with the less-trusting Lyra. Even if Lyra wasn’t fully on board with the whole “new person” idea, she still chose to hang out nearby Melanie at all of her visits, which told us she felt safe. As anxious pet owners, we like updates that are as detailed as possible with lots of pictures. Melanie delivered in spades, providing sweet and thoughtful visit summaries with 25+ photos per visit. Her summaries went beyond the basic tasks of the visit— she let us know how our cats greeted her, how much they were eating, if they wanted pets, what toys they played with, and her sense how our babies were doing overall. Most importantly, she let us know they were LOVED. We look forward to hiring Melanie again soon!

Yuliya is definitely a cat person, and our cats took to her right away! Our older cat Plum can be a little prickly if overstimulated, so seeing pictures of her rubbing up against Yuliya’s leg made me feel secure that my cat felt comfortable and safe. We also loved seeing photos of our younger, more active cat Lyra getting plenty of play time and affection. She understood and expressed the importance of routines for cats, especially when their people are away, and her care for our cats reflected that. Our cats have a fairly complicated food routine, and Yuliya did well adhering to it. Part way through our trip, she noticed that one of our cat’s food was running low, let us know, and even measured out how many portions were left to ensure there would be enough to last the rest of our trip. We are the type of cat owners who appreciate very detailed visit summaries, and it would’ve been great to have had a little more of that, but we did receive lots of photos and enough written updates to feel that our cats were in safe and caring hands. Thank you, Yuliya!

Makayla was a great sitter. She sent me pictures which really helped me while I was out of town. She gave my cat the space he needed and he felt very comfortable going about his routine with her. He had 3 times a day feedings with special instructions to open windows for him and let him go on my porch when she got there so he can eat grass and get a little fresh air. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
