About: I have been caring for my 13 year old dog, Molly, for 11 years. I am also an active volunteer at the county animal shelter, working with dogs (1,000+ hours) and cats (400+ hours). I have a special place in my heart for dogs with behavioral and medical needs, and working with them at the shelter has taught me patience and skills that help to make the animals more comfortable. I also have training in puppy care, senior dog care, walking leash-sensitive dogs, and caring for injured animals. The time I get to spend with dogs is the most fun I have doing anything, and I take a lot of pride in caring for them with the appropriate level of attention and patience they need. I work remotely and have a flexible schedule, so I am available to walk and care dogs at a variety of hours. The length of walks is up to you and your dog-- I am happy to do short walks or longer outings depending on what you need! I am happy to refer you to references (animal shelter staff and volunteers) who can attest to my dog-handling skills and my ability to work with dogs from a variety of backgrounds. The safety of your pet and your home always come first, and I am very comfortable taking any steps needed to ensure that everything goes smoothly.

About: I have many years of professional pet sitting experience in addition to growing up with pets and caring for family and friends’ animals. I am experienced with small to large breeds, as well as cats, birds and other animals. I am patient and very energetic. I love playing fetch on the beach, going on long walks, hiking, and cuddling at home. I do not currently have a dog or pet of my own so you will not need to worry about your pet getting along with other animals. If I happen to be hosting another pet, I always check with each party before accepting extra clients. I am available to walk dogs several times daily including long walks up to an hour or longer if desired. If your pet gets very dirty from the beach or a hike with me I am happy to bathe them at no additional fee and keep dog shampoo on hand I plan to be with your pet 24/7 while they are in my care unless otherwise discussed in advance. I thoroughly enjoy hosting pets and want them to feel comforted, loved, and entertained. I work part time as a nurse on days I don’t have clients booked. Dogs are allowed on the couch and bed and will be provided with all the snuggling and affection they desire! They have free roam around my one bedroom home. I also have a back patio with a fire pit where we can lounge or play fetch. I’m walking distance to the beach and love taking dogs down to the beach to play or to other nearby beaches for long walks. I play dog videos (squirrels, birds, or other soothing sounds etc) during stays which many dogs seem to be enjoy.

About: Hi there, I’m Lauren! I have had pets going back to the time I was 6 years old when my family got our first cat and have been an animal lover ever since! I have adopted both cats and dogs over the years and would love the chance to take care of yours. Amongst my friends, I am known for my positive energy and aura that makes animals naturally gravitate towards me. Can’t wait to meet your fur babies! I have a very flexible schedule that will allow me to adapt to your pets needs! About: I have exhibited compassion for animals of all shapes and sizes throughout my life. During my childhood I frequently volunteered with the ASPCA and participated in summer training programs. During my time at the ASPCA I learned dog walking safety and etiquette, as well as basic dog and cat behavioral knowledge. I have a very soft spot for senior pets. I had extensive time taking care of my elderly childhood cat, who lived to the age of 21. Additionally I have frequently cared for and helped walk elderly dogs of close friends, adapting to a pace and terrain that fit their needs. I am a UC Berkeley undergraduate student who will be living in Santa Cruz over the summer. I will be taking classes asynchronously, and have no other set commitments. The flexibility of my schedule will likely allow me to fit in the needs of your pets. For dog walking, I make sure each dog gets safe, attentive exercise tailored to their energy level, including proper leash handling, hydration, and cleanup. I also check for any behavioral changes and communicate updates to the owner after each walk. For cat sitting, I follow the cat’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, refreshing water, cleaning the litter box, and providing playtime or companionship based on their desires. About: I've taken care of my own dog since she was 4 months and have gone through obedience and behavior training with her! I've taken care of family pets including cats. I have experience working in a veterinary clinic as a veterinary assistant and worked with many cats and dogs. Available M-F mornings and mid-afternoons generally. Late afternoons taken depending on the day, feel free to reach out for specific availability for last minute bookings. I will follow any instructions you have when it comes to your pet in your home! I'm comfortable crating dogs, following boundaries you may have with your pet, and will respect your home completely.

About: As a massage therapist for over 25 years, I have worked on horses and dogs as well as people. I include FREE therapeutic massage to pets I care for. I've always had a dog and have been very honored to work with and care for dogs. I have owned and worked with dominant breed dogs, sharing with their owners how to support best behavior when asked. I understand canine psychology and genuinely love dogs. I am currently 'on-call' to work Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am to 6 pm. I limit this to 3 massages per day, so I'm not gone all day. Other than that I am available for your dog(s). I am an avid hiker/ walker and I'm up early. I have a calm presence which puts animals at ease, yet I understand how to manage challenging behaviors. I walk dogs early and usually twice a day. I maintain awareness and listen for signs to take them outside to go potty or walk, allowing them to sniff around. Once dogs realize I'm a 'pack leader' they usually feel more safe and challenges disappear. Right now I am not able to have a dog in my home. About: Not only do I love animals but I also have many years of experience taking care of them. The last several years, I have gained a lot of experience by taking care of my sisters’ and friends pets. I am always their go to sitter. I have had my Golden/ Pyrenees named Summer for 4 years now and she has also taught me a lot. I love long walks with my pup so you can be sure that your pup will get lots of exercise, pets, and lots of love. Summer is the friendliest pup so she will happily welcome another dog into her pack. I work full-time during the week but your pup is welcome to stay in my home. We have a doggy door for potty breaks. I am available after work for nice long walks and on the weekends all day and night. I am also happy to stay at your place if you prefer! Your pup is allowed in the house and furniture at all times. They will be treated like my own and be given so much love and attention.

About: I currently have a pet cat and dog. I've had them for two years. I understand that both are completely different and have different needs. I'm able to work well with both (: I make sure to take my dog on daily walks as well as giving her baths when needed. I also set aside time for quality time / cuddle / play time for my pets every day. In my home, our pets are treated like family members. Their safety is very important to me. I make sure they get their exercise in, stay clean, eat well, and get the attention they need!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, big and small alike all my life. I grew up with a boxer and a golden retriever in the home so I’m accustomed to the joy of having pets in the house. More recently I’ve pet sat for families who have homes in Europe, and would go visit during the holidays. I’ve been caring for this elderly dog in particular for over 10 years. He’s a sweet tempered dog but takes medicine everyday so I’ve become well adept at hiding his meds inconspicuously to get him to eat it without any problems. I also love working with puppies and find that caring for younger dogs is a lot of fun, and is exciting too! I love aussies, border collies, and spaniels but find that I can get along with just about any breed. I’m the type of person to always stop to ask to pet your dog on walks, and love showering dogs with affection and love. One of my favorite past times, is letting a dog run free off leash, and play frisbee with him or her. I’d love to provide loving, friendly, and fun care to your furry friend and I look forward to our first paw-shake! Currently in school, but available after and before classes start-and free on weekends! I’m in school, but I have plenty of time to run around and meet your pets. I would look forward to days pet sitting, or walking, and would love to meet you and your pets! I care for pets mainly in your home, I find it easiest because some pets can get flustered in new environments. I strive to get to know them and build trust by being in their home turf to see all their favorite toys, and where they feel most comfortable. About: My name is Jennie. I grew up on a farm in Eastern Washington. We had tons of animals, including many different types of dogs, big and small. We regularly took in rescue animals and pets with special needs. I now live in Santa Cruz, and I have a sixteen year old muggin (pug/min-pin) named Genghis. I'm new to the area, and I'm looking to work with pets of all types. I have regular and occasional availability. I offer dog walking, petsitting and house-sitting services. I am experienced with animals of all ages and stages, from puppies and kittens, to senior cats and pups. I am able to administer oral and topical medications, and I am happy to offer health monitoring for pets who are under veterinary care. While I do not offer full grooming services, basic bathing is in my wheel house. Whatever your pets need to be happy, healthy, and comfortable is what I want to provide! I know that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision. In an effort to offer greater security to my clients, I maintain my own pet/housesitter insurance policy, independent from any coverage provided by Rover. My schedule is very flexible. I am new to the area, and I'm looking to establish both regularly scheduled and occasional clients. For petsitting clients, I can be available for 2 visits per day. For walks, I accept same day appointments, as well as recurring advanced bookings. I aim to always provide the same level of loving care to pets as their humans would, if they were home. To this end, I like to get detailed instructions regarding feeding schedule, play preferences, and personality. It is my commitment to my clients to follow their instructions to the letter. When it comes to adventures outside of the home, safety is my #1 priority. I want your pups to have a great time, and to do that, they've got to be safe. For this reason, I do not take pups to off leash areas, when other dogs are present. There are just far too many risks to take into account with unfamiliar dogs around. Keeping dogs on-leash in group settings offers me a greater amount of control and ability to protect them, in the even that we are approached by another unfamiliar dog while out and about.
