“Jenna and her family were amazing with my new puppy Lola. They kept in touch with photos and updates. I got to relax on my vacation due to their support. I highly recommend Jenna.”

“Very overdue review, but Nancy was great! Fast response times and she gave cooper all the attention that he craves. She sent pictures and communicated throughout the stay and even sent cooper home with a Christmas gift. Thanks for such a fun stay!”
“Susie was very informative, responsive and kind. She sent lots of pictures and updates which helped feeling comfortable with a new sitter for my grandpup. Milo was very well taken care of and we already have her booked for upcoming dates. I strongly recommend her to sit, walk or care for your pet.”

“Thank you so much for taking care of Trixie during our recent travels. You two are the best! It's hard for us to leave Trixie, but we are always comfortable leaving her with you. And I think she settles in with you quite well! Best, Judith & Mike”

“Teresa was so kind and energetic. She sent us pictures of Otoro the whole time we were gone - he went to walks and hikes and played and came back tired (in the best way!) I will definitely be booking with Teresa again the next time we are looking for someone to hang out with Otoro!”

“Willow who is usually reactive and scared fell into a calm routine with Yajaira and her dog Luna which is so reassuring. We appreciate the dog walk photos too. Thanks Yajaira!”

About: Experienced dog owner and sitter. Studied dog psychology to become a good dog parent. Had two female spaniels who passed earlier this year. We used to compete in dog frisbee and hunt. Also have experience working in a grooming salon, as well as walking and boarding various size dogs - from labs and German shepherds to Jack Russel terriers and mini Aussies. Additionally at no cost I can provide basic behavioural training and teach new tricks - I love to communicate with dogs of any breed and move in one rhythm with them. And I really feel their needs and able to connect with dogs of all ages. I can board puppies and older dogs, take them for a walk someplace new and play ball or frisbee. But safety and well-being is my main focus and if your dog doesn't want too much activity, I can provide a more mellow experience, too. Available on weekdays and weekends but please make appointments at least 2 days in advance. I would love to meet your furry friend! I'm working remotely from home part-time, so have lots of time to spend with doggies. I'm available both weekends and weekdays and rarely leave home for more than a couple hours, so your dog won't be alone for too long. I have a fenced backyard and deck, and two mellow spaniels to keep your doggo company. I also have a crate where your pet can rest if needed.
“Wow simply amazing. Meghan is so kind and took incredible care of my dog Luna. I received multiple updates with photos and it brought me peace of mind since this was my first Rover experience. She took her on several walks and made Luna feel comfortable. I would absolutely recommend Meghan and I’m incredibly thankful she was able to watch Luna on such short notice.”

“Tyler is wonderful. She took care of our dog just as she would her own puppy , and sent photos of Leo throughout his stay. We would definitely ask her to watch Leo again as needed.”

“Marlene took great care of our boxer while we went away on a family vacation for a week. Excellent communication and lots of daily pictures—which I really appreciated! Our Hazel seemed to be loved and cared for like one of their own! Would definitely book again and highly recommend.”

“Daisy has had another wonderful stay with Shannon, Chris and their family. This was a 7-night stay and Daisy was treated like one of the family! Shannon sent pictures each day and followed all our requests on how to care for our sweet but slightly anxious dog who also has a few 'quirky' behaviours. We are so thankful to have found people and a home where we know Daisy will be safe and cared for!”

“Anusha took care of our 1 year old puppy when we were in vacation. She kept us informed everyday with lot of pictures. Zoey came home very calm and relaxed as she got enough play time with the whole family and lot of love. She also got a goody bag 😃. Thanks a lot Anusha.”

About: Hi! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile! Let's start at the beginning: My mother was a vet tech, so I basically grew up around animals. I've been dog sitting/walking for friends and family since I was 16 and have always found it to be a rewarding experience. This past year I became certified as a dog trainer in an effort to expand my knowledge of animal behaviors. I have definitely found this new knowledge to be extremely helpful with my business as a whole, not just with training. I currently have two yellow lab brothers, Mochi and Yoshi. They are amazing and bring joy to my life every single day. I'm a very friendly and outgoing individual with keen attention to detail. Your dog will be in great hands with me. Should you choose me, neither you nor your dog will regret it! Pet care is my full-time job. I know every pet owner has their typical schedule for their animals. I will work with you to have your pet's needs met. I care for your pets as if they are my own. I know that I would want my pet to be well cared for whilst I am away and I will use all of the experience I have gained in my career to keep yours happy and safe.
“Valentina took both of our pups over xmas and they returned very happy, with a goodie bag in tow. We will definitely use her again when venturing out of town. Thank you so much for everything, Valentina!”

“I was lucky to find Michelle and Michael. My dog is young golden retriever with high energy. Michelle and Michael gave my dog plenty of cuddles and attention. They gave my dog long walk and played fetch with him. Michelle sent me updates frequently that helped relieve my separation anxiety. I couldn't be happier to have my dog stay with Michelle and Michael, who are really nice and caring people.”

About: Caring for pets has always been more than just a job for me—it's a passion. Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. From playful puppies learning their first commands to senior dogs needing extra patience and care, I understand the unique attention each stage of life requires. What sets me apart from other sitters is my personalized approach. I take the time to learn each pet’s personality, preferences, and routine so they feel safe and comfortable in my care. I’m experienced with basic puppy training, leash manners, and crate training. For older pets, I provide gentle, attentive support—whether that means administering medication, helping with mobility, or simply offering lots of love and companionship. I believe communication is key, so I always keep pet parents updated with photos and notes to ensure peace of mind while you're away. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my top priorities, and I treat every animal as if they were my own. I work in IT from home, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to be available throughout the day for pet care. Whether it’s regular walks, playtime, feeding, or just keeping your pet company, I can easily fit their needs into my daily routine. When caring for pets in your home, I treat your space—and your pet—with the same respect and attention I give my own. I follow your routines closely, whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, medication, or house rules, to keep your dog comfortable and stress-free. I understand how important trust is when someone enters your home, and I always communicate clearly, keep things tidy, and send regular updates so you feel at ease while you're away. Your pet’s safety and comfort come first. I pay close attention to their behavior and needs, and I’m happy to accommodate special requests or routines to help them feel secure. Whether your dog needs quiet companionship, active playtime, or just a calm presence while you're gone, I provide reliable, loving care every time.

“Dylan is my default, go-to cat sitter (and has been for a few years now). He's extremely reliable, communicates well, and is great with my cats. I know that when I've got Dylan booked, it will be a worry-free, great experience every time.”
About: I have been caring for my 13 year old dog, Molly, for 11 years. I am also an active volunteer at the county animal shelter, working with dogs (1,000+ hours) and cats (400+ hours). I have a special place in my heart for dogs with behavioral and medical needs, and working with them at the shelter has taught me patience and skills that help to make the animals more comfortable. I also have training in puppy care, senior dog care, walking leash-sensitive dogs, and caring for injured animals. The time I get to spend with dogs is the most fun I have doing anything, and I take a lot of pride in caring for them with the appropriate level of attention and patience they need. I work remotely and have a flexible schedule, so I am available to walk and care dogs at a variety of hours. The length of walks is up to you and your dog-- I am happy to do short walks or longer outings depending on what you need! I am happy to refer you to references (animal shelter staff and volunteers) who can attest to my dog-handling skills and my ability to work with dogs from a variety of backgrounds. The safety of your pet and your home always come first, and I am very comfortable taking any steps needed to ensure that everything goes smoothly.
“Melanie is awesome! I am so glad she is able to watch our kitties. She is phenomenal with them. I always feel very relieved knowing she is watching my babies when I am out of town. She goes above and beyond what I would expect from a petsitter. We had a bit of an ant problem while we were away and she took care of it quickly and diligently. She really gives us the peace of mind we need when out of town. And she send pictures of every visit! Which is always a delight.”

About: As a massage therapist for over 25 years, I have worked on horses, cats, and dogs as well as people. I include FREE therapeutic massage to pets I care for. I've always had a dog and have been very honored to work with and care for dogs. I have owned and worked with dominant breed dogs, sharing with their owners how to support best behavior when asked. I understand canine psychology and genuinely love dogs. When I work, it's online via Zoom so I am available to be physically present for your animal(s) 100%. I am an avid hiker/ walker and I'm up early. I enjoy playing with and giving them attention. I have a calm presence which puts animals at ease, yet I understand how to manage challenging behaviors, should they arise. I follow your requests and preferences. I walk dogs early and usually at least twice a day. I maintain awareness and listen for signs to take them outside to go potty or walk, allowing them to sniff around. Once dogs realize I'm a 'pack leader' they usually feel more safe and challenges disappear. Right now I am not able to have a dog in my home. Thank you for sharing your fur-baby with me while you are away.

“Nicole took care of my cats when I had to go out of town last minute for Memorial Day weekend. She arrived each evening to feed them, clean the litter box, play, and fill their waters. She was prompt and kept everything clean, and she even got my super shy kitty to come out and play & made sure he ate! I would definitely recommend booking Nicole if you need pet care.”

“Miranda was a great cat sitter, keeping in contact with us and pivoting to letting in the heater repairman unexpectedly. She took great care of our kitty and left us an adorable “kitty report card” afterwards. I’d definitely book with her again.”

“I am very comfortable having Shylynn taking care of my cat while I'm gone. She sends me great notes and photos that provide comfort to me while I'm away. I appreciate her so much.”
About: Growing up, I was lucky to share my life with a wide variety of animals, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. Dogs have been a constant part of my life, and they truly hold a special place in my heart. Beyond caring for my own pups, I’ve also had the joy of house sitting and looking after friends’ pets over the years. I’m deeply passionate about animals, and I take the responsibility of their care very seriously. With a lifetime of hands-on experience, I would be genuinely excited and honored to care for someone else’s dog. You can trust that I’ll treat them with the same love, attention, and devotion I give my own. I work from home so I am available to watch your animals any day of the week. This also allows me to provide drop-ins anytime. Because I work from home I can take care of your animal in your home. This helps to ensure they are comfortable in their own space.

I received pictures of my puppy, Hali'a, throughout the day which gave me piece of mind that she was happy. When I picked her up after 12 hours, Hali'a was pretty tired . About: Aloha! I have been a lover of animals all of my life and a pet sitter for over 20 years starting in Hawai'i where I grew up and continuing in Santa Cruz where I've lived for the past 18 years. I was a veterinary technician for 14 years and while I've had to say goodbye to that career I still love caring for animals. Your pet will be in great hands! Please note-I do work full time during the day-see "availability" section for my schedule. Thank you! I am currently working full time - Tuesdays 1pm-5pm and Wednesday through Saturday 8:30am-5:15pm. I can only offer visits or walks before or after work on those days. If I'm doing an over night stay for you I will not be able to provide potty breaks during these hours but I will be there in the mornings and evenings to give them plenty of love and care. I have more flexibility Sunday and Monday. Thank you for your understanding! Your pets safety and happiness is my first priority and you can count on me to be someone you feel comfortable taking care of your fur baby. If you are looking for someone honest, trustworthy and knowledgeable who really loves animals, I'm the right sitter for you.
“Celeste is wonderful. We had met and already agreed to a three night pet sit later in the month, and some weekend walks with Duchess so they could get better acquainted before the overnights. Then I sprained my ankle and my wife's lower back went out. Celeste on very short notice stepped up by taking Duchess for unscheduled neighborhood walks so we could rest and recover. Two walks in now and Celeste and Duchess have clearly bonded. Duchess is a totally happy love bucket who thinks every person is her friend, but she responds best to people who are naturally relaxed and comfortable around pups while being the loving person in charge. Celeste checks all those boxes. We are very happy that we have more walks and a pet sit scheduled with Celeste.”

About: Dog Walker: I have grown up taking German Shepherds and English Springer Spaniels on walks. We’ve had German shepherds since I was a baby and I’m familiar and comfortable working with larger dogs. I’ve grown up around my pets and volunteering with the Great Pyrenees Rescue as well. As a walker, I’m familiar with high energy and low energy dogs. Comfortable going to parks / urban areas, can bring dog bags if needed. I’m used to dogs who strain themselves on their leash and am happy to work with you and the dog to find what type of walks works best for them! For Sitting: I’m comfortable stopping by the house and spending time with the pet, letting them out for bathroom breaks, outdoor playtime, etc. I’ll be on campus t/th/fr from at least 9-3 but have a flexible schedule outside of that. I’m in the capitola area and would prefer to stay between Santa Cruz to Aptos for home visits. For overnight stays: I can be available nearly any night, again have school on T/Th/Fr but can work around that schedule! I love working with animals and look forward to working with your cherished pet! My school schedule at the moment will take up normal work hours T/Th/Fr but Monday and Wednesdays will be completely open to walk! Available for home stays around this schedule too. I love spending time with pets and miss my family pets dearly as I’m new to the area. Looking forward to hanging out with dogs and cats and giving them all the love they need while you’re at work/out of town!
“David is communicative, punctual and most importantly, great at connecting with dogs. This was our first River experience and he helped put me at ease as he cared for our pup.”

About: This is my first time on this app, but I’ve had plenty of dog walking/dog sitting experience from when I was younger. I used to take care of all the neighborhood dogs so I am used to being around and taking care of all sorts of dog types. I love dogs with a passion and will be the best walker you’ve ever had. I am a recent graduate of UC Santa Cruz and I am gearing up to apply to grad school. My schedule varies, but I’m free most early mornings for walking dogs, etc. I have experience sitting for neighbors pets so I am familiar with taking care of animals in their own homes. I will care for your beloved pet in your home following all of your wants and needs.
About: I have exhibited compassion for animals of all shapes and sizes throughout my life. During my childhood I frequently volunteered with the ASPCA and participated in summer training programs. During my time at the ASPCA I learned dog walking safety and etiquette, as well as basic dog and cat behavioral knowledge. I have a very soft spot for senior pets. I had extensive time taking care of my elderly childhood cat, who lived to the age of 21. Additionally I have frequently cared for and helped walk elderly dogs of close friends, adapting to a pace and terrain that fit their needs. I am a UC Berkeley undergraduate student who will be living in Santa Cruz over the summer. I will be taking classes asynchronously, and have no other set commitments. The flexibility of my schedule will likely allow me to fit in the needs of your pets. For dog walking, I make sure each dog gets safe, attentive exercise tailored to their energy level, including proper leash handling, hydration, and cleanup. I also check for any behavioral changes and communicate updates to the owner after each walk. For cat sitting, I follow the cat’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding, refreshing water, cleaning the litter box, and providing playtime or companionship based on their desires. I also keep the owner informed with regular updates
“Jennie has been great at walking my high energy German shorthair puppy. She was very kind and professional. She asked me a lot of detailed questions to see if there were any specific needs she needed to be aware of for my dog. She did a great job following my instructions for any of those specific needs. She was very communicative and punctual. We had to cancel service due to scheduling conflicts (which she communicated to me as soon as it became known), otherwise I would be happy to have her as a weekly dog walker.”

“Isabella was great with my dog Alfie! He’s a big guy and also recently rescued and he instantly loved her. We did the first walk together so she could see the routine and some of his quirks which was really helpful!”
“Ava walked my two small dogs over a period of 8 days while I was out of town. She has a calm energy and I could tell the dogs liked her when they met her. My only feedback is that she was inconsistent with the agreed upon pick up times, but whenever I messaged her she responded quickly.”

About: I’ve been around pets my whole life I’ve been responsible for bathing, walking and feeding them. I have had many pets of all sizes and ages I’m currently attending college online so I have plenty of time to pay attention to your pets throughout the week. I’m very flexible with my schedule and I’d love to meet your furry friends. I have a small older dog of my own but can easily crate her if needed, lots of space for your dog/ pet to run around and hiking trails near by to get their energy out!

“We couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtful and dedicated dog sitter than Qi. From the very beginning, she demonstrated genuine care, attentiveness, and professionalism in looking after our beloved dog, Bear. It was immediately clear that she treats every pet as if they were her own. Qi went above and beyond to ensure Bear was not only well cared for, but also happy, comfortable, and loved while we were away. She kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind. Her attention to detail, reliability, and warm nature truly set her apart. When we returned, Bear was relaxed, content, and clearly had formed a bond with her—a true testament to the exceptional level of care she provides. We are incredibly grateful for Qi and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and truly exceptional in pet care. Thank you so much, Qi! We are hoping to book with you again soon, I know Bear can’t wait to see you again!”

“We highly recommend Anastasia! She and her two sweet dogs lovingly welcomed my dog into their home and treated him like family. Multiple dog walks and outdoor ball adventures daily. Anastasia is kind, responsible and truly loves taking care of furry friends. ❤️”

“Bianca was super flexible and patience with my dogs. We had two dogs that don’t get along well with one another and she graciously was willing to host both dogs. The dogs came back happy and slept as soon as they came home! My dogs have never been officially dog sat before so she made us feel comfortable and at ease while she was dog sitting. Highly recommend booking with her!”

“Lauren took wonderful care of Millie over several days including the 4th of July! She was conscientious and asked great questions about her needs both during the pre stay walk/meet and greet, and before/during her stay. I heard from Lauren daily (per my request when she asked how frequent I wanted texts and pictures), and she took Millie on daily walks, the beach/river for swimming and fetch after sticks, and paid attention to how to get her settled and comfortable. Millie was very comfy there, had fun, and walked right back in when we arrived! What a blessing. Millie was worn out and calm when we came, too- such a relief as she is normally very high energy. Lauren also communicated her schedule realistically and was on time and efficient, giving us info needed to drop off and pick up, and accommodated us during her visitor staying there, which she told us ahead of time. Her close proximity to the beach/river was also a nice surprise.”

“Kara is amazing and took such good care of my two pups and truly provided them with their own vacation while I took mine. Kara is a dog lover and will take very good care of your animals and give them a truly unique experience of enjoying a pack and having an adventure. She sent pictures and videos every day enjoying adventures in Boulder Creek with other dogs. They got to go on hikes and swim and she took time to work with my littlest one teaching him how to be braver as he is a bit shy. I will definitely be taking my pups to her again in the future. Thank you Kara!”
