About: Caring for animals has always been part of my life. I grew up surrounded by pets of all kinds, including dogs, cats, birds with feathers, fish with fins, and even those with scales. That early exposure gave me a deep comfort and appreciation for animals of every personality and species. I am recently retired, which gives me the flexibility to be fully present and available for pet care when needed. My schedule allows me to accommodate walks, drop-ins, overnights, and extended stays without the constraints of a traditional workday. This flexibility means your pets receive consistent attention, timely care, and a calm, unhurried presence while you are away. When caring for pets in my home, they become part of an active, dog-friendly neighborhood with plenty to explore. I live just 1.5 blocks from the beach and close to great walking spots like Arana Gulch, the park at the end of Schwan Lake, and a nearby dog park only minutes away. Dogs in my care enjoy fresh air, fun walks, and plenty of playtime balanced with calm downtime at home. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routines so they feel safe and comfortable in familiar surroundings.

About: What is it about those dog souls? They capture me, each and every one. I am a Registered Nurse with a heart for all dogs. I have had 3 dogs myself, the last one being a bully breed who taught me a great deal of how to work with dogs who require high management. I understand dog behaviors and idiosyncrasies and enjoy working with different personalities. I work from home so can keep eyes on your pup at most all times. I enjoy breaking up the day with a dog walk or training. I am happy to walk, run, play fetch, work on training or any other request during your pups stay. I enjoy spoiling dogs. But I also practice boundaries and behavioral expectations. My rate includes 2 walks a day and/or other exercise. I also provide a stuffed kong and other chewy toys unless you prefer they don't have ☺️ I am a proponent for dog parents to have a fi or gos collar for their pups. I think it's helpful for you as the owner to know where your pup is and the exercise they are getting as well, in an unfortunate/ unlikely event of getting out we can track them. I work from home so am available at most all times. I also have a half acre fenced yard If possible I'd like to do a meet and greet before sitting. I understand the trust it takes to allow someone to take care of you own pup but also to allow into ones home when you are away. I want to ensure owners are comfortable with my level of care and trust you instill with my service

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, big and small alike all my life. I grew up with a boxer and a golden retriever in the home so I’m accustomed to the joy of having pets in the house. More recently I’ve pet sat for families who have homes in Europe, and would go visit during the holidays. I’ve been caring for this elderly dog in particular for over 10 years. He’s a sweet tempered dog but takes medicine everyday so I’ve become well adept at hiding his meds inconspicuously to get him to eat it without any problems. I also love working with puppies and find that caring for younger dogs is a lot of fun, and is exciting too! I love aussies, border collies, and spaniels but find that I can get along with just about any breed. I’m the type of person to always stop to ask to pet your dog on walks, and love showering dogs with affection and love. One of my favorite past times, is letting a dog run free off leash, and play frisbee with him or her. I’d love to provide loving, friendly, and fun care to your furry friend and I look forward to our first paw-shake! Currently in school, but available after and before classes start-and free on weekends! I’m in school, but I have plenty of time to run around and meet your pets. I would look forward to days pet sitting, or walking, and would love to meet you and your pets! I care for pets mainly in your home, I find it easiest because some pets can get flustered in new environments. I strive to get to know them and build trust by being in their home turf to see all their favorite toys, and where they feel most comfortable. I look forward to seeing how they play and grow at their most comfortable!

About: Hi! My name is Nikki, I am a student at UCSC from Southern California and have a lot of experience with many different animals. Here in Santa Cruz I have a 3 year old cat named Mr. Whiskers. At home in Socal I also have a 13 year old standard poodle, a 13 year old yorkie-poo, a 5 year old miniature labradoodle, and a 1 year old cat (along with a tortoise and some other exotic pets!). I have always loved dog-sitting for my neighbors, with breeds including german shepherds, golden retrievers, labs, doodles, jack russel's, and other mixed breeds. I'd been consistently dog-sitting for 4 years until I took a break being in Santa Cruz, since my client base is in Socal, but have committed myself to caring for my own cat and my friend's pets when they are out of town. When it comes to caring for your pet, I will dedicate just as much love and care as I do my own! Additionally, my cat has unfortunately had to deal with some urinary issues causing him to be on a permanent urinary prescription diet and having to take meds during his flare-ups. Because of this, I completely understand the struggles of caring for a loved pet with health issues. It has allowed me to be very comfortable with administering both pill and liquid forms of medication to pets and punctual with needed times of administration. I am a full-time student so I provide drop ins before and after my classes and work around school schedule. I'm available on all days in the morning and evening and afternoons on all days except tuesdays and thursdays. When doing drop-ins, I would love to take care of your fur babies for enrichment, feeding, playing, and anything you already do with them that helps them feel happy and comfortable! I am currently a full-time student but my classes are very bunched together so I have plenty of time before and after classes to give love to your pets! I am super flexible with the environment that I am in to care for your pets and want them to feel as comfortable as possible while their owners are gone. I have no problem following very specific routines for your pet's needs!

About: Greetings! My name is Teresa and I am a true dog lover. I have over 20 years of experience caring for my many dogs (I have owned/loved 10 dogs over the years...up to five at one time!) as well as watched their 'cousins' when needed...which has been frequent ;). I will come into your home and follow whatever regimen you require and desire for your pooches so you and they are as comfortable as possible while you are away. I know how incredibly difficult it can be to find caring and trustworthy people to watch one's canine babies while owners are away--this is my way to give back and help fellow pup parents with this issue. I hope to make many new friends, humans and dogs, in the process as well! Thanks for your consideration! I'm not working at the moment, so very available if necessary. My schedule is very flexible so I can generally be very accommodating to meet your and your fur babies needs. I live alone in my apartment 2 blocks from Twin Lakes. We have Schwan Lagoon trails, and an assortment of beach walks close by. I have a nice sunny balcony with bed/cot and many dog neighbors. If they love people, I have no problem taking them out to socialize.

About: I have owned big dogs my whole life. Two labs, a retriever and a Catahoula mix. I have never know my life without a dog in it. Since I was little I would help take care of the dogs. From them being puppies to elderly dogs. I have watched my own dogs as well as others. I have also an accompanied a mobile dog groomer during her work. I helped wash the dogs as well as keep them calm and happy while she worked. I definitely learned A LOT about cleaning up after puppies while working with her. I am currently home for the summer from college and I do not have any other jobs so I have a lot of free time. I available all week except for when I will be out of town. I understand that every dog has different needs. I am fully flexible and willing to work with your dog in whatever way they need. For example, I have helped my dog through her fear of fireworks by wrapping her in a blanket and holding her (a little peanut butter helped too). Or if your dog needs a lot of exercise to stay calm and happy I will run around for hours. I am adaptable to the dog and I can help in whatever way is needed!
