About: Experienced dog owner and sitter. Studied dog psychology to become a good dog parent. Had two female spaniels who passed earlier this year. We used to compete in dog frisbee and hunt. Also have experience working in a grooming salon, as well as walking and boarding various size dogs - from labs and German shepherds to Jack Russel terriers and mini Aussies. Additionally at no cost I can provide basic behavioural training and teach new tricks - I love to communicate with dogs of any breed and move in one rhythm with them. And I really feel their needs and able to connect with dogs of all ages. I can board puppies and older dogs, take them for a walk someplace new and play ball or frisbee. But safety and well-being is my main focus and if your dog doesn't want too much activity, I can provide a more mellow experience, too. Available on weekdays and weekends but please make appointments at least 2 days in advance. I would love to meet your furry friend! I'm working remotely from home part-time, so have lots of time to spend with doggies. I'm available both weekends and weekdays and rarely leave home for more than a couple hours, so your dog won't be alone for too long. I have a fenced backyard and deck, and two mellow spaniels to keep your doggo company. I also have a crate where your pet can rest if needed.

Their house and yard is ideal-- fully-fenced front and rear, no restrictions on furniture, and a dog door (their own little dog recently passed away, sadly.) They even invited Gigi to sleep on their bed. Patti took Gigi on a couple of walks to the beach and gave lots of tummy rubs. It was clear from Gigi bouncing around their house when I returned to pick her up that she absolutely enjoyed her doggy vacation!”

I don't know if Daisy remembered them from last year, but she was smiling from ear to ear within 30 seconds of being in Shannon's & Chris's home and that's how she was when we picked her up!! Shannon sent timely updates with pictures and is so easy to communicate with. We would be lucky to have Daisy stay with Shannon and her family again! She was conscientious and asked great questions about her needs both during the pre stay walk/meet and greet, and before/during her stay. I heard from Lauren daily (per my request when she asked how frequent I wanted texts and pictures), and she took Millie on daily walks, the beach/river for swimming and fetch after sticks, and paid attention to how to get her settled and comfortable. Millie was very comfy there, had fun, and walked right back in when we arrived! What a blessing. Millie was worn out and calm when we came, too- such a relief as she is normally very high energy. Lauren also communicated her schedule realistically and was on time and efficient, giving us info needed to drop off and pick up, and accommodated us during her visitor staying there, which she told us ahead of time. Her close proximity to the beach/river was also a nice surprise.”

About: Hi! My name is Nikki, I am a student at UCSC from Southern California and have a lot of experience with many different animals. Here in Santa Cruz I have a 3 year old cat named Mr. Whiskers. At home in Socal I also have a 13 year old standard poodle, a 13 year old yorkie-poo, a 5 year old miniature labradoodle, and a 1 year old cat (along with a tortoise and some other exotic pets!). I have always loved dog-sitting for my neighbors, with breeds including german shepherds, golden retrievers, labs, doodles, jack russel's, and other mixed breeds. I'd been consistently dog-sitting for 4 years until I took a break being in Santa Cruz, since my client base is in Socal, but have committed myself to caring for my own cat and my friend's pets when they are out of town. When it comes to caring for your pet, I will dedicate just as much love and care as I do my own! Additionally, my cat has unfortunately had to deal with some urinary issues causing him to be on a permanent urinary prescription diet and having to take meds during his flare-ups. Because of this, I completely understand the struggles of caring for a loved pet with health issues. It has allowed me to be very comfortable with administering both pill and liquid forms of medication to pets and punctual with needed times of administration. I am a full-time student so I provide drop ins before and after my classes and work around school schedule. I'm available on all days in the morning and evening and afternoons on all days except tuesdays and thursdays. When doing drop-ins, I would love to take care of your fur babies for enrichment, feeding, playing, and anything you already do with them that helps them feel happy and comfortable! I am currently a full-time student but my classes are very bunched together so I have plenty of time before and after classes to give love to your pets! I am super flexible with the environment that I am in to care for your pets and want them to feel as comfortable as possible while their owners are gone. “Celeste is wonderful. We had met and already agreed to a three night pet sit later in the month, and some weekend walks with Duchess so they could get better acquainted before the overnights. Then I sprained my ankle and my wife's lower back went out. Celeste on very short notice stepped up by taking Duchess for unscheduled neighborhood walks so we could rest and recover. Two walks in now and Celeste and Duchess have clearly bonded. Duchess is a totally happy love bucket who thinks every person is her friend, but she responds best to people who are naturally relaxed and comfortable around pups while being the loving person in charge. About: Hi everyone! I’m just starting out on Rover but I’ve been a dog lover since day one. I have experience with dogs both big and small, in urban landscapes and suburban. About: I have owned big dogs my whole life. Two labs, a retriever and a Catahoula mix. I have never know my life without a dog in it. Since I was little I would help take care of the dogs. From them being puppies to elderly dogs. I have watched my own dogs as well as others. I have also an accompanied a mobile dog groomer during her work. I helped wash the dogs as well as keep them calm and happy while she worked. I definitely learned A LOT about cleaning up after puppies while working with her. I am currently home for the summer from college and I do not have any other jobs so I have a lot of free time. I available all week except for when I will be out of town. I understand that every dog has different needs. I am fully flexible and willing to work with your dog in whatever way they need. For example, I have helped my dog through her fear of fireworks by wrapping her in a blanket and holding her (a little peanut butter helped too). Or if your dog needs a lot of exercise to stay calm and happy I will run around for hours. I am adaptable to the dog and I can help in whatever way is needed!
“Jennie has been great at walking my high energy German shorthair puppy. She was very kind and professional. She asked me a lot of detailed questions to see if there were any specific needs she needed to be aware of for my dog. She did a great job following my instructions for any of those specific needs. She was very communicative and punctual. We had to cancel service due to scheduling conflicts (which she communicated to me as soon as it became known), otherwise I would be happy to have her as a weekly dog walker.”

“Daisy had one previous day-long stay with Shannon about one year ago and our schedules finally lined up for us to be able to leave Daisy over night. As with our first stay, we couldn't ask for more! Shannon and her family took such excellent care of Daisy, understanding of and worked around our dog's quirks - a little anxious, esp around other dogs for one thing - gave Daisy lots of attention, careful & thoughtful of her, and took her on two walks in 24 hrs. I don't know if Daisy remembered them from last year, but she was smiling from ear to ear within 30 seconds of being in Shannon's & Chris's home and that's how she was when we picked her up!! Shannon sent timely updates with pictures and is so easy to communicate with. We would be lucky to have Daisy stay with Shannon and her family again! “Lauren took wonderful care of Millie over several days including the 4th of July! She was conscientious and asked great questions about her needs both during the pre stay walk/meet and greet, and before/during her stay. I heard from Lauren daily (per my request when she asked how frequent I wanted texts and pictures), and she took Millie on daily walks, the beach/river for swimming and fetch after sticks, and paid attention to how to get her settled and comfortable. Millie was very comfy there, had fun, and walked right back in when we arrived! What a blessing. Millie was worn out and calm when we came, too- such a relief as she is normally very high energy. Lauren also communicated her schedule realistically and was on time and efficient, giving us info needed to drop off and pick up, and accommodated us during her visitor staying there, which she told us ahead of time. Her close proximity to the beach/river was also a nice surprise.”

About: Hi! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile! Let's start at the beginning: My mother was a vet tech, so I basically grew up around animals. I've been dog sitting/walking for friends and family since I was 16 and have always found it to be a rewarding experience. This past year I became certified as a dog trainer in an effort to expand my knowledge of animal behaviors. I have definitely found this new knowledge to be extremely helpful with my business as a whole, not just with training. I currently have two yellow lab brothers, Mochi and Yoshi. They are amazing and bring joy to my life every single day. I'm a very friendly and outgoing individual with keen attention to detail. Your dog will be in great hands with me. Should you choose me, neither you nor your dog will regret it! Pet care is my full-time job. I know every pet owner has their typical schedule for their animals. I will work with you to have your pet's needs met. I care for your pets as if they are my own.
