About: My love for pets is what sparked me to enter the wonderful world of pet sitting. I understand the importance of trusting someone to care for your "kids". I grew up with a household of furry friends! This is currently my second job as I’m wanting to spend my time giving love to those who need it most. I’m available Mon-Sun 11am - 10pm My services are primarily going to be available for outside my own property within the adventurous outdoors and/or alongside the home comforts of the dogs own home.

“Sanja was a great fit to dog sit and house sit for us! Our doggos were very comfortable with her, they were well cared for, and Sanja gave us lots of updates with pictures and videos while we were away. The dogs were happy and relaxed when we got home, which is exactly what we had hoped for! We were able to enjoy our time away, knowing that Sanja was taking such good care of our senior doggos and their quirks, and also taking good care of our house. We will definitely use her again!”

“Michael took excellent care of our furry baby, even on very short notice. He was reliable, kind, and truly responsible throughout the stay. On one of the days, his car broke down, but he still made it work and showed up as promised. That level of dedication really meant a lot to us. We felt confident and at ease knowing our dog was in such caring hands. Highly recommend Michael to anyone looking for a dependable dog sitter.”

About: I've grown up surrounded by animals my whole life — dogs, cats, birds — so caring for pets is second nature to me. When I was living in Australia, I got to look after some amazing dogs and made such lovely connections with their owners along the way. I've always been a huge animal lover. I even rescued a street dog from Thailand and brought her home to the UK. She needed a lot of training, love, and patience — but she's now happy, settled, and absolutely thriving. That experience taught me so much about understanding a dog's needs, building trust, and providing the kind of care that truly makes a difference. I'm now a permanent resident of Canada and settled in Whistler long-term, so you can count on me being here for your dog whenever you need. My work schedule for October is Wednesday-Sunday. I am flexible with drop ins, over nights stays and walks. I can be super flexible with my lunch breaks for mid-day walks, early morning walks or evening walks! With planning, I am able to stay at my partners home with pets! The great thing about this set up is between us, we have Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday off so your pet is unlikely to spend much time alone! I also start 9:30, and my partner finishes 3:30 so we can be really flexible with meeting animals needs. I am also able to stay at the pets home, pop in for dog walks, toilet breaks and lots of cuddles!
About: Animals are smart and individual - and deserve to be treated as such. I like learning about their character and caring for them as such. I provide empathetic support with detailed attention to feeding schedules, medication, activity, and mental health. I am specialized in senior care as well, and familiar with vet visits, impairments such as blindness, mobility issues, and specialized diets. I work part-time days landscaping in Squamish, and have the flexibility to leave work if needed. I am available for care in the evenings and weekends. Lifestyle and routine are important to animals like they are to people. I understand that each pet has adapted to and is familiar with a certain lifestyle and routine, and I will manage my care as such. I am secure with property and house, and keep things clean and tidy while providing animal care.
“Marni took great care of our small senior dog. Marni is a very good communicator, she sent us regular photos and updates! We feel very lucky Marni was available on short notice for in-home care for 3 nights. Marni treated our home and our dog with care and is very trustworthy. I would highly recommend Marni.”

“Megan was absolutely wonderful with my beagle! I felt completely at ease leaving my dog with her - she’s incredibly reliable, kind, and easy to communicate with. My dog was calm and happy the whole time, and it honestly felt like they became best friends right away. I really appreciated how attentive and caring she was, and it made the whole experience stress-free for me. I’ll definitely be reaching out to Megan again in the future. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve taken care of friends dogs for over 4 years now. I love dogs but unfortunately cannot have my own yet. Rover is perfect for me as I can still get animal hangouts! I work from home full-time, so your pet will have plenty of company, attention, and care throughout the day. My flexible schedule means I can easily stick to feeding, walking, playtime, and medication routines. I also live an active lifestyle, so whether your pet loves long walks, outdoor adventures, or simply having someone nearby for cuddles, they’ll be in great hands. I’ll treat your furry family member like one of my own I’ve grown up around animals and have plenty of experience caring for pets of all ages and personalities. Their safety and happiness are always my top priority, and my home is fully pet-proofed to provide a safe, comfortable environment. Since I work from home, your pet will have lots of attention and companionship throughout the day. I also live close to an in closed dog park that I frequent.
“Damian cared for our two Vizslas (Molly and Hazel) at our house for a week while we were on a holiday. He communicated well, followed directions and the dogs loved him! It takes Molly quite a while to trust and to be comfortable around someone new. It wasn’t long at all until she was snuggling and playing with Damian. We would book Damian again without hesitation.”

“Tracy-Kim took good care of our younger and elderly dog while we were away. This included the administration of our older dog’s medication and some special senior care. We felt at ease knowing the pups were in good hands. Tracy-Kim left our home neat and tidy too. Thank you!”
About: Hi! I’m an experienced animal caregiver who’s always loved being around pets of all kinds. I grew up with cats, dogs, and rabbits, and started pet sitting at 15, so caring for animals has always been part of my life. I have a Horse Specialist degree and have spent years working and living on farms and ranches, so I’m comfortable with everything from household pets to larger animals and different temperaments. I’ve also assisted vets with all kinds of treatments—from surgeries to smaller care like bandaging and injections—so I’m confident handling pets who need a bit of extra care. I truly treat every pet like my own and aim to make them feel safe, happy, and loved. I’d love to meet you and your pet! 😊 I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to adjust to your schedule and your pet’s needs. I have lots of time to play, care for, and give attention to your pet so they feel happy and comfortable. I’m based in Whistler and have my own car, making me reliable and able to travel easily. I’ll care for your pet either in your home or mine during the day, making sure they get lots of attention, play, and downtime. I’m a very active person and love being outside as much as possible, so walks and fresh air are always part of the routine. I live just a short walk from Alta Lake and have the Valley Trail right outside my door, which makes it easy to give pets plenty of fun, safe outdoor time.
About: Everybody wonders why I don’t have a dog. In my free time I walk dogs. They bring me so much joy. And they get me out and about. For the majority of my life I have had a dog. At this point in my life it’s not ideal as I use to and hopefully will travel again for work. I was a canine massage practitioner so your pet will get lots of good pets! I am very active and love discovering all the trails the Sea to Sky has to offer. I have lived in Whistler for 20 years and I am very familiar with the area. If would like to know more please let me know. Looking forward to meeting your furry family member(s). I work for myself so I have a very flexible schedule. I like morning adventures in the woods and maybe one in the afternoon as week! Depends on what the dogs needs! I like to meet the owner and the pets a few times to make sure the pets have time to adjust and the owners feel comfortable with me in their home taking care of their pets.

“Deborah was great with Sequoia! she is still a puppy and was a bit nervous at first but Deborah was patient and caring took it easy and slow. Very much appreciated. Would definitely recommend her.”

About: I've trained and taken care of our family dog since she was 3 months old. I also walk, and help to look after friend's dogs when needed. Whether it's them staying overnight or either to take them out for walks during the day. I also currently volunteer at WAG Shelter (Whistler Animals Galore). I can be flexible if a dog needs to be taken for a walk in the morning or during the day if needed if given enough notice. I can be available for onboarding for 1-2nights as long as I'm given notice. I don't have a fenced yard, but there is a lot of walking trails near our house, and parks. We are allowed pets in our house and have room for a crate if needed. Please just chat to me to let me know the size of the crate to make sure it'll fit! Our landlords only come up on the weekends in Winter so we have the house mostly to ourselves. Our neighbourhood is very dog friendly!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Whistler on Rover is $68.08 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 186 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Whistler. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whistler maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whistler walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whistler choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
