“Karen was wonderful. Right from the first meeting I knew Finnegan was going to be in good hands. We received pictures from Karen through his stay and he looked like was never going to want to come home. Finn loved the numerous walks and playing with Milo. I will be recommending Karen to our friends when they visit Whistler.”

“Jade and her partner were fantastic, no words can describe how grateful we are for how well they took care of our pup!! Our high-energy dog Ares loves hiking, so they took him on long hikes in nature on both days. Ares had an absolute blast. They cared for him as if he was their own dog. Jade sent plenty of photos and updates and you could tell that Ares loved them so much and felt super comfortable with them. We will definitely leave Ares with them again!! Thank you! ❤️❤️”

“Sona looked after our dog, Buddy, while we enjoyed a weekend at Whistler. She did an amazing job, and we couldn’t be more happy at the care and attention. She sent many pictures of Buddy playing in the snow, and having a great time. I would also like to say how impressed we were at her communication before, and during his stay. Thank you again, Sona!”

“Carla and her family were wonderful and they took amazing care of our dog Hansel! They were so loving and welcoming upon his arrival, we immediately felt at ease. We received lots of pictures throughout his stay, and they took him on some great adventures! Hansel can't wait to come back!! Thank you!”

About: I’ve loved caring for animals since I was a teenager, starting with my beloved sausage dog (even if some say they’re not “real” dogs!). Since moving to Whistler, I’ve regularly dog-sat for friends whenever they traveled and couldn’t bring their pups along. For the past two years, my partner and I have had a hedgehog, but since he’s nocturnal, I’ve definitely felt a bit of an “attention void” during the day—so I’d love to give your pet all the care and affection they deserve! I work from home as a sales rep for a pool construction company, and ever since COVID, all my meetings happen online, over the phone, or through email. That means I’m home most of the time, which makes it easy to give your doggie plenty of attention throughout the day! We live in a house with a spacious living room where pets can relax and feel at home when I’m pet-sitting. Our neighborhood is perfect for dogs, with dog parks and forest trails just a few minutes away—so your furry friend will get plenty of walks and outdoor time! Even while I’m working, I always keep an eye on them to make sure they’re safe, comfortable, and getting the attention they need.
“Damian was fantastic. This was the first time I have used Rover and left Lenny with a stranger. Damian was great with sending updates and pictures. Lenny is a high energy 2 year old Golden Retriever, he came back happy and tired. I would recommend Damian to anyone who is looking for dog care in Whistler.”

“Lawrence was amazing at accommodating my crazy schedule for pick up and drop off. Charlie was well taken care of, he was a relaxed and happy boy when I came to pick him up. Won't hesitate to ask Lawrence again in the future for help.”

“Amanda and Thomas took care of our dog Red for a day and night when we were out attending a wedding, and we could tell right from start that they are dog people and are super familiar with nervous/anxious dogs. They were both ready with treats for the intro with Red, which was super thoughtful! Red had a great vacation with Amanda and Thomas, felt right at home with them and enjoyed a hike! She was happy to see me when I arrived to pick her up but was also totally happy to stay with Amanda and Thomas. Looks like she had a great time and grateful to have connected with Amanda and Thomas at such short notice.”

About: I’ve taken care of friends dogs for over 4 years now. I love dogs but unfortunately cannot have my own yet. Rover is perfect for me as I can still get animal hangouts! I work from home full-time, so your pet will have plenty of company, attention, and care throughout the day. My flexible schedule means I can easily stick to feeding, walking, playtime, and medication routines. I also live an active lifestyle, so whether your pet loves long walks, outdoor adventures, or simply having someone nearby for cuddles, they’ll be in great hands. I’ll treat your furry family member like one of my own I’ve grown up around animals and have plenty of experience caring for pets of all ages and personalities. Their safety and happiness are always my top priority, and my home is fully pet-proofed to provide a safe, comfortable environment. Since I work from home, your pet will have lots of attention and companionship throughout the day. I also live close to an in closed dog park that I frequent.
About: I've trained and taken care of our family dog since she was 3 months old. I also walk, and help to look after friend's dogs when needed. Whether it's them staying overnight or either to take them out for walks during the day. I also currently volunteer at WAG Shelter (Whistler Animals Galore). I can be flexible if a dog needs to be taken for a walk in the morning or during the day if needed if given enough notice. I can be available for onboarding for 1-2nights as long as I'm given notice. I don't have a fenced yard, but there is a lot of walking trails near our house, and parks. We are allowed pets in our house and have room for a crate if needed. Please just chat to me to let me know the size of the crate to make sure it'll fit! Our landlords only come up on the weekends in Winter so we have the house mostly to ourselves. Our neighbourhood is very dog friendly!
About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life, so I get how to keep young puppies happy and active or give extra TLC to senior pups. Whether it’s fun walks, playtime, or cozy care, I’m all about making your dog feel loved and keeping those tails wagging! Pet care is my daily jam! As a dog walker, I take pups on fun hikes, blending work with love for dogs. My wife’s home to keep an eye on them, and our 5-year-old golden retriever loves making new friends. We have an 8 year old that will also be around the pets but always under supervision. My family loves your dog like our own. I lead leashed walks, staying alert for other dogs. My wife and son ensure constant care, and our golden retriever plays gently. Your pup stays happy and safe!
“Vanessa was sooo good to our dog Quincy! They made fast friends and had many adventures together. We loved all the pictures and updates. We highly recommend Vanessa!”

“Ty - Can’t thank you enough for taking care of our little girl “Pina” in Whistler, BC. To everyone else, she is a rescue from Mexico and still getting comfortable with her new world. The second she met Ty, we knew we could relax at our daughter’s wedding reception.. First class and will be asking for Ty in any future stays!! - thanks again Ty! - Mike & Arlene (Garibaldi Highlands, BC)”

About: Hi, I’m Rachel! I’ve spent my whole life around dogs and cats and love spending time in their company. I know how important it is to give pets not just care, but love, patience, and attention. I have owned my own dogs and cats and have worked with them professionally too, as a dog aquafit specialist in Vancouver. Now, i work from home in Squamish a few days a week, which means I can offer plenty of company, playtime, walks and snuggles. I also have a toddler who is very respectful of animals and loves being around them. Your pet will always feel safe and comfortable in our home. Whether it’s walks, cuddles, or just a calm presence, I’ll treat your furry family member like my own. Pet care naturally fits into my daily routine because I’ve always had animals in my life. I’m used to feeding, walking, playtime, and giving lots of affection throughout the day. Since I work from home a few days a week, I have the flexibility to provide companionship and regular check-ins. On the days I’m not home full time, I still structure my mornings and evenings around pet care, whether that’s longer walks, cuddle time, or keeping up with their routines. In my home, pets are treated like family. I make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved by keeping to their normal routines—whether that’s walks, playtime, feeding schedules, or quiet cuddle time. I’m attentive to their needs and always provide plenty of supervision, affection, and stimulation. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow your instructions closely to make sure your pet feels secure in their own environment. I maintain their regular schedule, give them lots of attention, and provide updates so you know how they’re doing while you’re away.
About: I have looked after dogs and cats for many years. While I don’t have a dog at home currently (my last dog, Iggy, an Australian Kelpie passed away in March at 15 years old) I would like to welcome fur babies from time to time. I work part time from home so I have plenty of time to look after doggies. It’s just my 9 year old daughter and myself and we both adore 4 legged companions. I live on a quiet cul-de-suc with plenty of greenery and snow in winter with a dog park near by (walking distance). I offer plenty of short outdoor breaks or long walks (whatever the preference is). I can provide regular updates and plenty of pictures/videos. I am happy to look after senior dogs or puppies as I have experienced with both.
“Choose Kelly for her regular updates, adorable photos, and the frequent hikes in beautiful forested areas. My dog had the best time, and I had peace of mind knowing they were in great hands!”

“I highly recommend Kateryna for anyone looking for reliable,& loving care for their friend. She went above and beyond, with photo updates, coordinations with pick up & drop off. My dog was so excited to see her the day after, and she cared enough to monitor all his behaviour and letting me know about it. One of the best experiences that I had with any dog sitter.”

The median cost per night for dog boarding in Whistler is $75
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Whistler
it was Brodie’s first sleepover at Hillary‘s. She is just so caring and gave me lots of feedback while he was there, which is always so reassuring .(Brodie is a Yorkie, and he has a big personality.!)Honestly, I couldn’t ask for a better person to take care of him. I felt like Brodie was in great hands the whole time !

Jade and her partner were incredibly caring with our pooch. They took her on lot's of adventures, and kept us updated with fun stories and pictures. When my flight was delayed they even went out of their way to make sure she got home safely at the end of her visit. Would love to have them take care of our girl again in the future!

I had a wonderful experience with my dog sitters, Billy and couldn’t recommend him more. He truly treated my dog, Molly like she was his own. She went on lots of walks, got plenty of attention, and looked completely happy and relaxed the entire time. He sent regular photos and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I enjoyed skiing with family. One of my favorites was a photo of her rolling on her back, completely carefree and clearly feeling right at home. His communication was excellent from start to finish. Thank you again for taking such great care of my girl!

Tyler (and his wife) were amazing. We needed someone on super short term notice and they took our pup Scooby in within hours. They took extra care of him with his injury and gave him all his medications on time. As he’s a puppy (an exceptionally high maintenance one at that) they had a lot of patience for him and were great at helping him be the best boy. Would definitely use them again and highly reccomend to anyone in Whistler that needs animal care!

Wow, what a lucky find to come across Arvid and for our first Rover experience as well! Incredibly generous with Maple with many walks, adventures and plays. I appreciated the photos and updates- excellent communication throughout. Highly recommend, Arvid will be a Maple buddy forever!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
