“Karen was exceptional with our blizzard and kept him for an extra night. She took him on hikes and walks and helped with potty training. Sent us tons of photos and made blizzard feel like he’s part of the pack! They had a great time!! We will use Karen as our go to every time we are in Whistler!”

“Jennie looked after our puppy during our first time away from home since getting him. I was very comfortable as she sent lots of photos and updates and always answered promptly. Thank you Jennie!”

“Truly exceptional caregiver. We got a ton of amazing photos and updates. Jade took the pups on a bunch of daily adventures, meeting friends, and doing their favourite activities. We travel a lot, so making sure our dogs are happy and healthy when we are away is super important, and Jade did a great job at making sure that was the case.”

“Sona was super responsive and caring for our two senior pups. She sat with them while we skied and enjoyed Whistler. She made sure they were safe and happy. Would definitely recommend!”

About: I’ve loved caring for animals since I was a teenager, starting with my beloved sausage dog (even if some say they’re not “real” dogs!). Since moving to Whistler, I’ve regularly dog-sat for friends whenever they traveled and couldn’t bring their pups along. For the past two years, my partner and I have had a hedgehog, but since he’s nocturnal, I’ve definitely felt a bit of an “attention void” during the day—so I’d love to give your pet all the care and affection they deserve! I work from home as a sales rep for a pool construction company, and ever since COVID, all my meetings happen online, over the phone, or through email. That means I’m home most of the time, which makes it easy to give your doggie plenty of attention throughout the day! We live in a house with a spacious living room where pets can relax and feel at home when I’m pet-sitting. Our neighborhood is perfect for dogs, with dog parks and forest trails just a few minutes away—so your furry friend will get plenty of walks and outdoor time! Even while I’m working, I always keep an eye on them to make sure they’re safe, comfortable, and getting the attention they need.
“Damian was fantastic. This was the first time I have used Rover and left Lenny with a stranger. Damian was great with sending updates and pictures. Lenny is a high energy 2 year old Golden Retriever, he came back happy and tired. I would recommend Damian to anyone who is looking for dog care in Whistler.”

“Pleasure to leave our pup - communication easy and clear. Kept us updated and our dog seemed to have a great time away. Would not hesitate to recommend or rebook.”

“Our senior dog received the *best* care! Vanessa is experienced - so kind, thoughtful, and responsive. Grandma JoJo greeted Vanessa with a wagging tail, enjoyed walks around the village, and came home with clean bedding 😊 We appreciated the photo updates as well as the flexibility and understanding with grandma. 10/10 would recommend Vanessa!”
“Amanda took very good care of our 3 year old Australian shepherd who had never had a dog sitter before. We went away for the weekend, and was so delighted to hear from her throughout the time we were away- she shared how he was doing and showed photos of him having fun on his doggy walk through Alice Lake. It was really comforting to hear that:) Thomas and Amanda have a very friendly demeanour and enjoy looking after furry friends! I would highly recommend her to anyone searching for a reliable and responsible dog sitter.”

About: We are an active couple with experience caring for a wide range of dogs, primarily medium to large breeds. We’re comfortable with multiple dogs, high-energy dogs, dogs in heat, and pets with medications or specific dietary needs. Living in Squamish, we love spending time outdoors and enjoy taking dogs on long walks, hikes, and adventures. Our flexible schedules allow us to provide plenty of attention, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. We take a patient, calm, and positive approach to pet care, focusing on trust, consistency, and making every dog feel safe, comfortable, and at home. Pet care fits very naturally into our routine. Amanda works just five minutes from home, allowing for regular check-ins throughout the day, while Drew is building his company remotely and has the flexibility to work from home. Safety is our priority. We pay close attention to traffic, wildlife, other dogs, and each dog's comfort level when we're out walking or exploring. Off-leash time is only done with the owner's permission and when it's appropriate for the dog's environment. Trust comes from following your instructions and putting your dog's needs first. We take the time to understand each dog's routine and personality so we can provide consistent care. Our goal is to make dogs feel relaxed, loved, and at home by maintaining their usual routines and providing plenty of attention, exercise, and care in a clean and comfortable environment.
About: I have looked after dogs and cats for many years. While I don’t have a dog at home currently (my last dog, Iggy, an Australian Kelpie passed away in March at 15 years old) I would like to welcome fur babies from time to time. I work part time from home so I have plenty of time to look after doggies. It’s just my 9 year old daughter and myself and we both adore 4 legged companions. I live on a quiet cul-de-suc with plenty of greenery and snow in winter with a dog park near by (walking distance). I offer plenty of short outdoor breaks or long walks (whatever the preference is). I can provide regular updates and plenty of pictures/videos. I am happy to look after senior dogs or puppies as I have experienced with both.
About: Hi, I’m Rachel! I’ve spent my whole life around dogs and cats and love spending time in their company. I know how important it is to give pets not just care, but love, patience, and attention. I have owned my own dogs and cats and have worked with them professionally too, as a dog aquafit specialist in Vancouver. Now, i work from home in Squamish a few days a week, which means I can offer plenty of company, playtime, walks and snuggles. I also have a toddler who is very respectful of animals and loves being around them. Your pet will always feel safe and comfortable in our home. Whether it’s walks, cuddles, or just a calm presence, I’ll treat your furry family member like my own. Pet care naturally fits into my daily routine because I’ve always had animals in my life. I’m used to feeding, walking, playtime, and giving lots of affection throughout the day. Since I work from home a few days a week, I have the flexibility to provide companionship and regular check-ins. On the days I’m not home full time, I still structure my mornings and evenings around pet care, whether that’s longer walks, cuddle time, or keeping up with their routines. In my home, pets are treated like family. I make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved by keeping to their normal routines—whether that’s walks, playtime, feeding schedules, or quiet cuddle time. I’m attentive to their needs and always provide plenty of supervision, affection, and stimulation. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow your instructions closely to make sure your pet feels secure in their own environment. I maintain their regular schedule, give them lots of attention, and provide updates so you know how they’re doing while you’re away.
“Jenna and her partner were great with Kevin. He spent 3 days and 2 nights with them and seemed to settle in really well despite his anxious tendencies. We felt at ease while away knowing they were doting on him as much as we do. On pick-up day, the highway was backed up for hours but Jenna was happy to keep him longer until we could safely get to their house, which was so appreciated. Thanks Jenna!”

“Choose Kelly for her regular updates, adorable photos, and the frequent hikes in beautiful forested areas. My dog had the best time, and I had peace of mind knowing they were in great hands!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life, so I get how to keep young puppies happy and active or give extra TLC to senior pups. Whether it’s fun walks, playtime, or cozy care, I’m all about making your dog feel loved and keeping those tails wagging! Pet care is my daily jam! As a dog walker, I take pups on fun hikes, blending work with love for dogs. My wife’s home to keep an eye on them, and our 5-year-old golden retriever loves making new friends. We have an 8 year old that will also be around the pets but always under supervision. My family loves your dog like our own. I lead leashed walks, staying alert for other dogs. My wife and son ensure constant care, and our golden retriever plays gently. Your pup stays happy and safe!
“Tess did an amazing job watching our very energetic Siberian Husky, Asha. She was flexible with drop-off/pick-up times, communicated well, and took Asha for a long hike and walks. I would highly recommend her.”

“Raffie had a great stay with Olivier and Marie! Raffie is an older pup, and requires a little more care but Olivier was on top of it. They were quick to respond, sent lots of pictures and flexible when it came to all of Raffie's needs. Highly recommend and looking forward to booking again!”

About: Hi there! My name is Denise. I am studying an MBA program and working part-time. I had to leave my doggy son in my home country while I’m studying here and I miss him so much. I would love to spend my time taking care of your dog as if they were my own. I have a very flexible schedule and look forward to hearing from you. Feel free to message me anytime and arrange something. Hope to hear from you soon! Thank you I'm currently studying and working part time so my schedules are flexible. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Whistler
Vanessa is amazing! She regularly updated us on how our dog was doing, and sent beautiful pictures of their adventures together. She gave our dog her full attention while in her care. I don’t think our dog wanted to come home! A very loving caregiver and I can confidently recommend her. Will definitely be booking her again.

Billie had a great time with Holly. Lots of adventures, cuddles and quiet time. Exactly what she needs. I was a bit apprehensive as Billie can be anxious sometimes and this was a big change for her. But Holly knew what to do and both Billie and I were at ease for the week.

Jennie was absolutely fabulous! She took amazing care of our elderly dog , Lax. Jennie kept us updated throughout our trip, made sure he took his medication, and even gave him a bath. It gave us such peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands. We highly recommend Jennie!

it was Brodie’s first sleepover at Hillary‘s. She is just so caring and gave me lots of feedback while he was there, which is always so reassuring .(Brodie is a Yorkie, and he has a big personality.!)Honestly, I couldn’t ask for a better person to take care of him. I felt like Brodie was in great hands the whole time !

I had a wonderful experience with my dog sitters, Billy and couldn’t recommend him more. He truly treated my dog, Molly like she was his own. She went on lots of walks, got plenty of attention, and looked completely happy and relaxed the entire time. He sent regular photos and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I enjoyed skiing with family. One of my favorites was a photo of her rolling on her back, completely carefree and clearly feeling right at home. His communication was excellent from start to finish. Thank you again for taking such great care of my girl!

Tyler (and his wife) were amazing. We needed someone on super short term notice and they took our pup Scooby in within hours. They took extra care of him with his injury and gave him all his medications on time. As he’s a puppy (an exceptionally high maintenance one at that) they had a lot of patience for him and were great at helping him be the best boy. Would definitely use them again and highly reccomend to anyone in Whistler that needs animal care!

Wow, what a lucky find to come across Arvid and for our first Rover experience as well! Incredibly generous with Maple with many walks, adventures and plays. I appreciated the photos and updates- excellent communication throughout. Highly recommend, Arvid will be a Maple buddy forever!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
