“Michael was a great choice for dog sitting Beans, and was very flexible with our changing plans. Beans had a great time. Would definitely book again if we’re in Whistler and recommend him to a friend.”

“We highly recommend Vanessa! I could tell from the cute photos she took of Portia that Portia was very happy and well cared for! She was smiling in her photos! She made herself right at home at Venessa’s. She even ate her breakfast which she doesn’t usually do when we leave her, so today she had no anxiety of being left in a sitters care. Thanks Vanessa for a great sit!”

“Hayley is wonderful. I was nervous leaving my puppy with someone new but he came home happy and tired having enjoyed walks, swims and playtime. Hayley is a great communicator both in arranging the service and on the day my puppy was with her. I received regular updates with pictures and felt reassured that everything was good. I will be reusing Hayley and would highly recommend Hayley to others.”

“I have used Carla as a dog sitter the past two times I have traveled to Whistler, and I have been very pleased with her services. She is a friendly, reliable, and experienced pet sitter who cares for my dog. Carla is very responsive to messages. She takes my dog for walks, feeds her, and gives her plenty of love and attention. She also sends me updates and pictures throughout the day, which is always appreciated. In addition to her excellent pet-sitting service, she has two young daughters who love dogs, and her husband is also very kind and helpful, and they both went above and beyond to make sure my dog was comfortable and happy while I was away. I am confident that Carla would be an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy dog sitter. I would highly recommend her services.”

“Joanna was very confident and caring with my nervous girl and was very keen to make sure Molly felt comfortable in her home. I appreciated the updates/photos to know everything was going well on their first day together!”

About: I started pet-sitting when my beloved cat Briciola passed away. I was missing her so much but couldn’t get another cat as I was traveling all the time, so I posted an ad and had the chance to look after three adorable cats while I was studying in Bologna. When I first moved to Berlin I used to walk my host family’s dog Flora every morning and every noon. I would take her to the lake for a 20/30-minute walk. Last summer 2017 my mom and I rescued a little dog in Italy we named Gigio who’s now our sweetheart! He loves to go on the beach in the early morning to take long walks along the shore; he loves to play and he’s such a fountain of love and happiness. I’m currently working full time, so please, send me a message before booking service. I will do my best to accommodate your and your pet’s needs. I live in a fairly big apartment with my partner. We do not have a yard but a small balcony. We keep the door closed all times if pets are around. I also always make sure your pet is under my supervision .
About: My passion for dogs started at an early age as I grew up on a farm in the UK with seven dogs, a wonderful mix of working breeds like Labradors, collies and spaniels, plus a couple of spirited Jack Russell's who ruled the pack. Today, I share my home with Peanut, an 9lb Chihuahua who loves naps, sunshine, people and gets along well with other calm dogs. Over the years, I’ve cared for a wide variety of breeds and sizes—from toy poodles to Newfoundlands, pointers, Staffordshire bull terriers, and countless loveable mixes. This experience allows me to adapt to each dog’s personality and needs. What I Offer I work from home full-time, so your dog will never be left alone. Here’s what you can expect: ✔ Regular walks ✔ Playtime and enrichment activities ✔ Plenty of cuddles and companionship Whether your pup needs a calm, safe space or an energetic adventure, I’ll tailor their care to suit their temperament and preferences. Just let me know what makes your dog happiest. Please note: Due to the size of my small dog, I cannot accommodate dogs in my home that have a strong prey drive. Why Choose Me I’m trustworthy, attentive, and respectful. When house or dog sitting, I treat your home and pets as if they were my own—providing comfort, security, and privacy at all times. My goal is to deliver the 5-star level of care you expect for your beloved companion. ✅ Need a hand with your dog care? Let’s connect! I work from home so can offer all day companionship to your furry friend, plus regular walks and bathroom breaks. There is room in my office for them to hang out with me, or they can choose their favorite spot in the apartment. My schedule is mainly open on week days, but I can accommodate some weekends (advanced notice helps!), so please feel free to enquire about weekends even if they aren't showing. If you have specific directions and instructions to keep your dog safe or happy, I will ensure to follow these. I always use my intuition and experience with dogs to ensure they are happy and relaxed when in my care, whether that is sitting with them, giving them space, taking them for a walk, or anything else they may need. They are all individuals and I will always respect their boundaries to ensure they feel safe and relaxed.
“Erica and Michaela were so great. They were super responsive and helped me last minute. They sent me a lot of pictures and my dog was so happy and has such a great time. Thank you so much 🙏 I totally recommended them!”

“Oliver had a great time with Billie. Beyond our expectation she walked our dog more often then we do, and snapped a few of lovely photos with Oliver comfortably rest on her sofa, btw her car is also wonderful and they get along very well with each other. We normally go ski around Feb every year, will definitely check with her next time when we need a day care for my dog!”

My experience volunteering at WAG + PAWS and owning my own dogs has taught me how to handle high-energy puppies and anxious rescues with expert care. I work from home full time. I take my dogs out 4 times a day to parks and rivers and lakes depending on the weather. I am committed to providing your beloved companions with the attention and exercise they need. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Whistler
Vanessa is clearly a dog lover. She was great at communicating and took excellent care of our whippet. Our dog is normally shy, but took an immediate liking to Vanessa. She sent (gorgeous) pictures and updates periodically. Will DEFINITELG book with her again. Highly recommend. Thank you Vanessa!

This was the second time we’ve booked Karen to watch our dog, and it’s been wonderful again. Right when we arrived, Milky actually seemed to recognize her – tail wagging, excited to go inside – which immediately put me at ease. She’s incredibly friendly and clearly genuinely cares about animals. Throughout the stay, she sent me photo updates, which I really appreciated. It was such a comfort seeing my dog happy and relaxed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, loving dog sitter. We’ll definitely be booking her again!

Hilary was phenomenal during our wedding trip to Whistler. She took care of Ajax during wedding events that weren’t dog friendly and made it very easy by picking him up and dropping him off for the events, even when timing changed (as things inevitably ran late etc.) She also took great care of Ajax, including taking him for walks (his favorite!) and ensuring he was happy in an unfamiliar environment. Thank you very much Hilary!

Our dog Russell had a wonderful day at Lisa’s place. She took great care of him and her kind, caring demeanour made dropping him off much easier. Lisa was easy to communicate with and made the experience simple. We will be booking with Lisa again. Thanks Lisa!

As a first time Rover customer it gave me great comfort on how responsive Lily was and put me at ease when I was in a bit of a panic about changing up the service last minute. At first meet she was able to assess and did research prior on our Airedale, Mosby. Knowing my dog I was so worried it would be too much for anyone but Lily handled him so well and was perfectly happy and tired by the end of the day. Despite the wet weather we were able to enjoy our first trip ever to Whistler and will be back!

We were visiting Whistler and needed a sitter for a day. Tracey was an excellent choice! She had a nice place with some outdoor space and activities. Her dog and our dog played together well. They took a long walk on a trail and Duncan got to play in a stream - something he loves to do. We got frequent updates and pictures which was great. Our Duncan had a great day and we can't say enough nice things about Tracey, her dog, her home and her care. Highly recommended!

Belen helped us out super last minute with our petulant Pogo. Pogo instantly took a liking to her which is not something he often does with new people. Belen was very flexible with timing and we really appreciated that she let us drop Pogo off very early on her day off to do a big ride we had planned. She was communicative, sent us updates, kind, and easy going. Would highly recommend Belen!

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Whistler commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
