About: I’m Laura, your reliable and devoted pet caregiver! Hailing from Ireland, my upbringing was filled with the joy and companionship of animals, fostering a deep love for dogs. Now based in Mount Pleasant, I offer expertise in pet care to ensure your furry friends receive the attention and care they deserve. With ample evening availability throughout the week for drop-ins and dog walks, as well as availability for weekend house sits, I am dedicated to providing personalized and attentive care to your beloved pets. With experience in minding pets, walking dogs, and caring for cats, I believe I am the perfect choice to keep your furry companions happy, healthy, and entertained while you're away. I promise to treat your pets as if they my own, giving you peace of mind knowing they're in capable and caring hands. I’m currently working full time as a Program Supervisor for a children’s respite home but I love to spend my evenings outdoors so I would be available for dog walks week days. I am also available from 6pm daily during the week for drop in visits for your pets. On the weekends I would be available for over night care both Friday and Saturdays. In a clients home, I will follow their daily, regular plan and protocols to ensure the safety and maximum comfort for pets in their own home.

About: New to Rover, but not to pet care. I grew up around animals and have had dogs, cats, and even horses. I have 2 indoor cats myself (Romeo and Cleo) and my family has a Dalmatian back home. I work as an independent contractor at a doggy daycare so I have plenty of professional experience as well as a flexible schedule. I’m currently working as an independent contractor at a dog daycare so my schedule is very flexible ans I usually know quite far in advance what days I’ll be busy. I take pet safety very seriously & I recently took a pet first aid course. Although I’ve cared for animals my whole life, the course has made me a lot more comfortable in caring for other peoples pets.

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats since I was a child. I worked at a kennels walking dogs when I was younger, sometimes up to 5 dogs at a time, spanning a range of ages. I've always had cats as pets (although they're the real bosses, tbh) and am super comfortable with cats that are old, cranky, or that need a bit of extra medical attention. I work M-F but I'm available for early morning (before 8am) and evening (after 4:30pm) walks or drop-ins. I'm also available on weekends after 10am ☺️ I will look after your pet like its my own while in my care. I have no problem altering my schedule or route as it suits you and your pet.

“Incredible communication, kind and wonderful while cat sitting Ruby. Photos and updates while I was away which made me feel more comfortable not being home. I would absolutely recommend/hire Nicole again.”

About: It has been pure joy being part of the Rover community, taking care of dogs here since 2018. We have met the kindest, warmest humans and dogs. We have two children who we try to include in helping so they are learning about responsibility, but as a result we can't take any dogs with aggression issues. Since we moved to Vancouver we have a smaller (fenced) yard, so we have reduced the number of dogs we take at a time. WE ALWAYS MAKE EXCEPTIONS FOR REGULARS. We are in love with our regular dogs and even if we come up as unavailable, if possible we will always make room for them. We have a rescued chihuahua mix and an unfixed female corgi, so we don't take unfixed males with the exception of puppies. We love puppies and can handle dogs with special care or medical issues, but please no dogs with any history of aggression. They must be safe with children and other dogs! I don't charge for meet & greets. (30 minutes is fine) I find dogs adjust much better when they are returning to a familiar space. Meet & Greets give them a chance to bond with our dogs, so when they are left they are already happy to see us and they settle in much easier. I can accommodate all diets, but not raw meat diets, please. For travelers I know how hard it is to work around air travel in particular. I'm very flexible and I understand how stressful it is trying to work around planes, trains and borders. Early morning drop offs are always encouraged. I am an early riser, up at 5 a.m. daily, so you can always drop them early if you're trying to get out of town. I work mostly from home, so I'm always around for love, walks and attention and we live across the street from a park. I'm a graduate student so I take a couple of classes, I have to schedule drop offs around, but mostly I'm home. If your dogs gets messy I provide baths. Every dog is so different. The first night is usually the hardest for most dogs. They usually need extra comfort to get through the first night, but usually after that we've built enough trust that they relax. We used to be fosters so we have a lot of experiences with caring for dogs who are scared and out of their element. Dogs who are well socialized and accustomed to staying away from home rarely have a hard time, especially if they are playful. Our corgi is 2 years old and loves to play with every dog, which is a great comfort to most dogs. Also our kids lavish dogs with attention. We are a dog family.
