About: I’ve have taken care of animals through various means for 20 years. I have house sat and watched dogs in their own homes, and have had dogs in my home and I am self employed with two kids. About: I fostered and trained a guide-dog puppy when I was 13 years old and adopted my own Aussie/Collie rescue who I adored for the 2.5 years I had him until he passed in 2025. I know how to handle canine epilepsy, giving various medications on an hourly basis, along with behavioural challenges common in rescues. I sweet pup was very high energy and driven so I know how to handle strong, energetic dogs and love to take them on long hikes or runs. I work from home two days a week (usually Mondays and Fridays) and used to take my own dog on long hikes or camping on weekends. My late pup was extremely high energy and got exercised three times a day. I have a fully fenced in, large backyard and often leave my apartment door open so dogs can roam in and out even when I’m working. There is a large park out back (perfect for fetch) and the nearby mountain is full of trails perfect for on and Off-Leash doggy adventures. I have a fenced yard shared with at least one other dog to keep yours company. My landlords live above me and usually have at least one foster pup and a cat as well so there are lots of friends around. I am very attentive to the needs of all the fur babies and often work with my door open so dogs can roam freely in and out of my apartment. There is a big park out back of my place for the dogs to get a good run and a mountain with extensive trail system a couple blocks away for longer walks and hikes.

Growing up and working at vet clinics surrounded by farm animals, dog, cats and critters has gained me experience in handling most animals. I am working with and around horses and dogs and cats most days. I have looked after friend’s animals for some time in replacement of losing my own dear senior dog and decided it was time to offer my services to others in need. I am a professional Equestrian and pet photographer so a bonus with dog sitting bookings over 2 days you get some professional images valued at $250. I am located in Coquitlam by Mundy Park and mainly cover the Tricities, Surrey, Langley due to my part time job needs. I can cover other areas however please check with me before hand to make sure my schedule allows. Important - I work as a swim instructor part time Saturday morning, Sunday afternoon and weds afternoons/evenings (occasionally Mondays or Tuesday evenings too) in Surrey/Langley for up to 6hr shifts including commute. If your pet is uncomfortable with this time alone I may not be the right fit for them. Occasionally I have photo shoots for 3-4hrs however I try to schedule these around pets needs and bookings. I am calm, approachable, respectful yet enthusiastic and energetic to meet and learn each animals behaviour needs as they grow to trust me (and I them!). My passion for animals is deep rooted. I am positive in my reinforcements, commands and yet confident in advocating for the dogs needs in public settings where other dogs aren't as socially secure. Whilst getting to know the dog, I use long lines for leashes (no retractables) so the dogs have the safety of being under control yet still able to explore on it's walks. Once trust and recall is confident, when safe and legal we go for off leash walks only with the owners express consent otherwise the pups are kept on leashes for their safety. I put air tags on their collars if they don’t have a tracking device of their own for our walks. Senior dogs are my favourite as they have seen it all and are very clear in what they like, dislike. They are treasures! If they like to snooze up against me on the couch all day, then thats what we will do! Im comfortable with puppies, young dogs who are learning the ropes (happy to help with basic training!), dogs who lack confidence (and fearful, reactive etc) and older dogs who just like to stretch their legs a few times a day. I am not an intensive hiker or take dogs on long hilly trails. Strolling and stopping to sniff everything is my style. It's their walk not mine! I am comfortable and able to works with most breeds however terriers are where most of my experience is. Their unique character tendancies keep my on my toes! I do not take pets into my own home at this time I take care of others homes and happy to help with chores, organizing, yard work and cleaning. I leave every home as if I was never there! Leave me a list of things you need done as I like to be busy and tidy! I work part time currently (see above) and have flexible availability with advanced notice so I can plan around my other work. Any updates I’ll update the client before hand. I am not taking pets into my home at this time. My own home is large, quiet, smoke free and clean. The dog is given their own space to sleep (in a crate if required) or welcome up on the bed if they so wish! There is a fenced yard for the dog to do it's business and is never left unsupervised whilst outside. They are always welcome on the couches and linens are cleaned between dog stays to reduce any disease transfer. Bowls for food and water are sanitized and cleaned daily. All dogs must be vaccinated (upto date) and have a tag with their cities license. The dogs vet clinic is added to my contacts for quick contact if needed. I put an air tag on the dogs collar as a safety feature for our walks if you don't have a tracking device already (my own dog ran away once after fireworks scared him and so I am overly cautious!) and I share that with the owner. I send frequent pictures, videos and updates to the owner.
