About: Hi, I’m Kat! I’ve been a cat mom to the love of my life, Elfie, for nearly 12 years and have been cat-obsessed for as long as I can remember. Elfie is anxious and skittish around new people and unfamiliar spaces, so I understand that sometimes pets need extra patience and time before they feel comfortable. I typically let pets approach me at their own pace rather than rushing or overwhelming them. I also love dogs and have cared for them for friends and neighbours. I take them on walks, provide lots of playtime and enrichment activities, and go on outdoor adventures, while following each dog’s routine, energy level, health needs, and comfort level. Every pet has their own unique personality, habits, and preferences, and I know how important it is to pay attention to signals and body language. I’ll follow your instructions carefully and keep their routine as consistent as possible. I will be sure to provide plenty of calm companionship, affection, exercise, and mental stimulation - I want nothing more than to provide the absolute best care for your pet as I would want for Elfie! I know it can be stressful to leave your pet and invite someone into your home - I've been there! You can relax knowing I’ll treat both your pet and your home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. I’m also happy to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand so we can discuss your pet’s needs and make sure everyone feels comfortable! I’m currently taking on freelance work, so I have a flexible schedule and can provide care during the day. For drop-in visits and dog walks, we can agree on a schedule that works well for your pet’s routine. During housesitting stays, I’ll spend most of my time in your home and will only be out for errands or other necessary commitments. I’ll confirm the expected schedule with you in advance so you know how long your pet will be alone. For doggy day care, I’ll be home for most of the day aside from walks, outdoor activities, and occasional errands. I’ll make sure your dog receives regular bathroom breaks, exercise, attention, meals, and rest throughout the day. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my priority. I’ll follow your instructions carefully, keep doors and gates secure, use leashes as requested, and only allow off-leash time, dog parks, hikes, car rides, or other activities with your explicit approval. Before your booking, I’ll make sure I understand your pet’s routine, feeding instructions, medications, exercise needs, triggers, and emergency contacts. If something unexpected happens, I’ll contact you promptly, and if I don't receive a reply within a reasonable timeframe, I will reach out to your emergency contact. Please let me know your preferred veterinary plan ahead of time. I’ll treat your home with respect by keeping it clean, locking doors and windows, and following any alarm or access instructions. I can also water plants, collect mail, take out garbage, and handle any other agreed-upon home details. I’ll also send regular photo and written updates so you can relax while you’re away! I have a cat of my own - for doggy day care in my home, my cat will remain in a separate, secure bedroom/office while your dog uses the rest of the apartment. There will be no unsupervised interaction between them, and I’ll only accept dogs who can safely and comfortably stay in this type of environment.

About: 🐶🐾$20 off promo code of your first booking: EMILYC35575 ⭐️August promotion: $18/walk⭐️ Hello I’m Emily! I have been a passionate dog lover my entire life and personally raised my own Maltipoo for 6 years in Korea. I have been living in Canada for 2 years now, and because I am away from my beloved dog back home, I miss her terribly every single day. I want to channel all that longing, love, and affection into caring for the wonderful dogs here in Canada. Back in Korea, I made it a strict rule to take my dog out for walks every single day without fail, ensuring she always received abundant exercise, attention, and love. Beyond my own pet, I have extensive experience pet-sitting for my friends' dogs on multiple occasions. Whether it was for a short weekend or a longer stay, I provided dedicated, heartfelt care that left both the dogs incredibly happy and their owners completely satisfied and at peace. Over the past 2 years in Canada, I have also gained practical experience walking various breeds, including a high-energy Dalmatian mix and a Jindo mix. I genuinely enjoy discovering each dog's unique personality and have a natural knack for making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved around me. I promise to treat your furry family member with the exact same devotion and deep responsibility that I give to my own. I currently work during the weekdays, so I’m generally available for walks and pet care after 6 PM on weekdays. My availability may vary slightly from week to week, so I’d be happy to coordinate schedules in advance. Please feel free to reach out beforehand, and I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs. I’m great at playing with dogs using toys, and I’m confident I can take them for walks or play fetch outside. I can also train them, like bell training or teaching them to lie down. I have trained my own dog before.

About: Growing up in a house full of dogs, cats, and even a few farm animals, I learned early how to feed, groom, and help with basic vet care and beginner dog training. I’ve cared for pets from newborn kittens and puppies to sweet senior cats and dogs, and even helped supervise my grandma’s cat during labour — what an experience! Since then I’ve raised my own Yorkie, helped caring for my roommate’s Devon Rex cat, and dog-sat a friend’s Shiba Inu, taking her on hikes, long walks, and beach days with my equally pet-loving partner. I’m home most of the time taking an online course and preparing for nursing school, while my partner works from home—so your pets will get plenty of love, walks, and attention. My partner and I live in a pet-friendly apartment steps away from several dog parks. We both love hiking and beach trips and can easily drive your pets for longer nature walks.

About: I’ve grown up on a farm and taking care of various different pets and animals with different needs and personalities. I do like to get to know your pet, their personality, and needs. I like to set up a meet and greet first to get to know them and their routine. I do like long walks with a bit of some jogging — I’m very used to high energy dogs. I also have experience working in a doggy daycare that focused on positive reinforcement/training I’m on a very flexible schedule: during the day and/or afternoons. Let me know what works for you! I don’t have a yard and the only part is I live on a busy street. But I am willing to accommodate to client’s needs. My pets are back home in Hazelton, B.C. while I am here in Burnaby, but I am willing to bring them into my home for overnight boarding. I am able to come to you, if needed. About: I've been caring for animals for 7 years, starting with volunteer work at a dog shelter with YMCA in my home country. That experience gave me hands-on training with dogs of all temperaments, including special needs dogs. I'm comfortable with pets who need extra patience and a gentle routine. I've also personally owned three dogs (two large breeds and one small), and I am now a hamster mum, so I understand the different energy levels, exercise needs, and quirks that come with each size. I'm open to caring for any type of pet and any service, walks, drop-ins, boarding, or daycare. I also treat every animal with the same patience and attention I'd want for my own. I work part-time, which gives me a flexible and dependable schedule for pet care throughout the week. I'm able to offer consistent visits, walks, or sitting during the day, and I plan my routine around making sure pets get the attention and exercise they need. Safety is a top priority for me, whether I'm in my own home or a client's home. I live in a condo that's pet-safe and with no toxic plants, and I'm always scanning for small hazards (choking risks, unsecured cords, anything a curious pet or hamster could get into). In client homes, I take time to learn the pet's environment, secure any doors or gates, and stick closely to the owner's routines and instructions. With my shelter background, I'm especially mindful of pets who may be nervous in new environments, and I adjust my approach to help them feel safe and comfortable.

About: Born and raised in Vancouver. I’m a working professional in the Brentwood, Burnaby neighborhood. I live alone in my apartment that I own. My last dog, Carrie sadly passed away from old age in 2022 after happily living for 14.5 years. I do not presently have my own animal. With my new job, unfortunately it doesn’t allow me to be at home as much as I would like to be to care for another dog. Therefore, I’m using this opportunity on Rover to spend quality time with other dogs. I’m truly a dog person.. I love dogs more than I like people! My favourite movie growing up was Air Bud and I always wanted a dog ever since. I think about dogs too often for someone who currently doesn’t have a pet! I am hoping to meet some of your dogs in the neighborhood. I live close to a couple of dog parks, as well as large grass areas near by my home. I also own a car and can drive if necessary. I am primarily available weekends and evenings. Tuesdays/ Wednesdays are my work from office days, but I may be flexible to shift my in-office days. My home is always clean and tidy free from any food debris or dangerous objects on the floor that an animal can get to. So that’s chocolate, garlic, etc. As well, toxic plants will be put away ahead of time during time of care of your animal.

About: Hi, I am Tanisha, and I have had pets my entire life.. I have always known dogs and cats as a special blessing on earth, so they deserve the best of everything. I take care of each pet based on their personality and preferences, and offer pet sitting, long or short walks, and boarding, as well as extended stays, and a lot of fun 😁 Caring for your pet, I will make sure that they will never feel lonely. If your dog struggles with separation anxiety or gets lonely easily, they will benefit from having multiple people around to give them attention and care and I live in a house with 4 of my housemates and plenty of space for your pet to move around and play. One of my pets once had five puppies, and I looked after them as they grew. They all turned out healthy and strong with the right care. I also have experience with senior dogs, some as old as 15 years. I understand the special needs of older dogs and are well-equipped to take care of them. Any specific requests for them? Let me know! and I will take care of it. Most importantly, safety is where you need not worry because that’s my priority. I Work part time in a chocolate company. So my schedule is very flexible. Your pet will have long and short walks tailored to their preferences, meals would be on time and lots of love. However, as mentioned they will never be alone because there’s 4 of us who all work park time. I live in a big house, so your pet will have lots of space to roam around and play; I also have a backyard and a front lawn with protected walls. Most importantly, we have created a home-like environment for pets so they feel comfortable in their own home.

About: Hi! My name is Ghazal and I truly love dogs! My own dog is an English Cocker Spaniel(Waffle🧇) and he’s one of the cutest dogs ever! Unfortunately I couldn’t bring him here and he’s still back home. I miss him too much… that’s the main reason I started to do this:) I realized if I can’t play with my own dog I can get that satisfaction for a short time with someone else’s dog. I took my dog in when he was two months old and I raised and trained him by myself so you can be sure that your dog is in good hands!! Because of Waffle I learned how to deal with super energetic dogs and how to make them tired when they go for a walk outside so that when they’re back home they can just be cute and all next to their owner and go to sleep:)) Let me know if you have any questions or concerns I would love to have a little chat with you!

About: Nice to meet YOU! I’m a dedicated pet sitter and dog walker living in North Burnaby’s Lochdale area, and I’m so excited to meet you and your pets. I grew up surrounded by all kinds of animals—from feeding homeless cats and caring for abandoned kittens, to rescuing a hamster left by the garbage bins and adopting surrendered fish and turtles from classmates (we were no longer friends from then on :D). Animals have always been the missing pieces of my life puzzle. I recently launched Winnie the Paws, a wellness-focused brand that promotes holistic and natural care for pets (and people!). As a certified canine massage therapist, I’ll include a 15-minute wellness massage session to my dog walking packages to help dogs stay relaxed, mobile, and happy. Experience with puppies and training: When I turned 14, my family adopted three rescue puppies. I learned to care for them—feeding, bathing, grooming, leash training, potty training, and even teaching tricks. They grew into 70-lb babies and now live with my parents in my home country. I also attended puppy training classes with a local host family’s new pup while living in Vancouver. I can support basic training needs, help reinforce good behaviors, and offer enrichment that’s tailored to your dog’s personality—whether they’re a high-energy puppy or a mellow senior. Experience with senior dogs & special needs: I’ve helped care for senior dogs like my host family's elderly Labrador, and a Boston Terrier with liver disease. My own dog, Roni, is almost 11 now—and he just learned a new trick! I started studying massage therapy to support his aging body and overall wellness. My volunteer work with ElderDog Canada also gave me meaningful experience supporting both senior people and their beloved older dogs. Rescue Dogs & foster experience: I’ve fostered small dogs from China and Mexico, helping them build confidence and learn how to live in a loving home. I volunteered with several rescue groups, assisting with foster care and adoption placements. Experience with cats I’m also a regular cat sitter in the neighbourhood. I’ve bonded closely with both senior cats and kittens, and I’m comfortable with shy or outgoing personalities. When I lived with a host family, the cats slept on my bed while the dogs played beside me—everyone was family. I am certified in pet first aid to ensure your pets stay safe in emergencies, and I’m always learning more about animal wellness. I currently share my life with my beloved Roni. Whether your pets are young, senior, shy, or full of energy, I promise to love and care for them as much as I do my own. I am available every day after 8 pm if anyone needs service later at night. I am usually available on weekdays, while having limited access to a vehicle on Tuesdays and Thursdays. But please send me a message if you live nearby. I am always available to help my neighbors! I prefer taking care of your pets at your home. I also have access to my own vehicle if your pets need a ride. I will be aware of hygiene and sanitation with I am visiting your pets at your place, including washing my hands and wiping your dogs' paws when we return from outside. Please feel free to let me know if you prefer I wear a mask with your pets outside.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
